  • GOOD

  • Robin's voice is way better than barry in this song...

  • Get well Robin ! I love Bee Gees .. My fav group since the 70s

  • Robin actually sings this one as well as Barry, which is not always case, and so of course they let g4 do all the singing..

  • ROBIN....AMAZING VOICE !!!

  • First of May, First of May, Outdoor fucking starts today

  • Robin Gibb is really the one with the best voice of all the bee gees, he can get to very high tones with his real voice, not like the ugly falsete from barry.

  • @hgvm I agree. Robin has the best voice and he's able to give to his voice a special taste as you can listen in the strophe of My World...

  • a wonderful song almost ruined... (by the way, it was originally sung by Barry Gibb)

  • Why do these guys of G4 have to sing when Robin is there? My 2nd most favourite song in the world can only be sung by one person - Barry Gibb. Sorry guys. Good try though, Robin.

  • love this

  • i think maurice and lulu do an awesome version of it

  • I love his vocal with this song, once he sings, he voice just sang so brilliently from these four poeple, you know the differences instantly how beautifully his voice is.

  • Damn I wanted the G4 guys to shut and let Rob do a solo

  • I will say more - these guys can't sing for shit. And don't mean to be "controversial".

  • When was this recorded? I have to agree, operatic voices kill this delicate song.

  • damn the opera singing is not fitted for this simple melody..

  • @alteph

I think it's magnificent with the opera voices.

  • i watched this video MMMM maybe 32 times and need watch one more time =D so beautiful

  • Wow, listen Robin's voice, it shines over all of them billiantly, but , the others cannot over shadow his voice, it is amazing and is stunning, babe, Oh Robin, you are the real one for the song, not them !!!!!

  • Beautiful! It brings tears to my eyes....

  • robin sings so well

  • still sounds really good! great job rob!!!

  • Po prostu piękne!!!:)

  • fANTASTIC VOICE,FANTASTIC SONG FANTASTIC MAN:)

  • Sorry better sung by the bee gees as a group

  • robin synger fantastisk stor og dejlig stemme

  • great voice...this is one of my fav song from the bee gees....oya indeed have a beautiful voice and will be worthy of gg love...

  • He is ... old

  • Oh, isn`t the song from 1969 ? So much memories, it hurts, but it is a beautiful song.

I was a little girl with 7, but German TV showed Bee Gees sometimes.

  • I am basically convinced that this is one of the ten most beautiful rock and roll songs ever written...

  • very good!

  • qué hermosa canción.. melancólica como pocas!

    desde Argentina, gracias Robin!

  • without barry the magic of beegees music is gone....

  • it's nice but opera-singing kills the gentle, purenesss and simple part of the song...

    Robin is still there best!

  • i love this song my mama use to sing that song for me

  • Robin's voice is sorrow and bliss.

  • Hey~~~ ROBIN is the best for me! Loved his voice and... OH MY G... He is so handsome!~~~~

  • Love it how Robin's voice can still shoot right through those opera-singing vocals..

  • ROBIN, beautiful voice, beautiful song.

  • @mssilveira711 I totally agree, the best ! he should have been the main singer in the Bee Gee's

  • robin's vocal doesnt grow old at alll does it...man he's great..!!!

  • como se presta robin a cantar con esos insipidos sin talento creo que no esta bien que un señoron como robin cante con principiantes es una ofensa a su carrera y a su talento

  • Andy did have a few concert moments wit the Bee Gees , If he did't die he would have been a member of the Bee Gees soon

    The Bee Gees :

    Barry Alan Crompton Gibb

    Robin Hugh Gibb

    Maurice Ernest Gibb

    Vince Melouney

    Colin Petersen

  • There were 4 Bee Gees originally, and maybe 5? One was named Colin something i think

  • Maurice and Andy are gone. Andy (youngest brother) was never in the Bee Gees - he was a solo act.

  • Which Bee Gees are still alive?

  • Barry and Robin

  • OK, thanks. For some reason, I thought there were 4 members, and two had passed away.

  • This is such a gorgeous song. I first heard it on their box set, and it's been one of my favorites ever since. Thanks for posting this performance! :-)

  • excellente

  • Is it "the day I kissed your cheek and you were gone" or you were "mine"?

  • It is "The day I kissed your cheek and you were gone".

  • THEY HAVE CHANGED THE WORDS...ORIGINALLY IT WAS "GONE" OLD WORDS WERE BETTER.....IT WAS ALSO lOVED NOT LAUGHED...

  • ya i think he sings loved here

  • Absolutely beautiful! I first heard the album version on MySpace, and instantly loved it, but truth be told, he's always been my favorite Bee Gees member anyway.

  • i love this song can any 1 explain the meaning of it for me

  • perfect...

  • it's great that robin sing with some new people.

    it's great live.

  • The Bee Gees could write a fuckin melody. Godamn they were good.

  • who the hell are those little boys?

  • LOL!!!!!!!....good question!!!

  • Wow, Robin sounds like he did in his younger days voice hasn't really suffered with time at all.

  • my tears fellwhilewatching this video..the originalreally outstands.....i love u beegees

  • Glamrouse Outstanding Fantastic

  • What can you say more...MAGNIFIQUE!!!

  • excellent, emouvant et tres tres bien interprete ,merci pour le video toute une epoque me revient a la memoire bravo

  • As good as a Xmas song can get !

  • excellente

  • Thanks for the share Jeanette ! And Samuel0228

  • Beautiful - Thanks Slumbers2 4 share

  • Wow, great version of a lovely song.

  • he he he... This chorus sure sounds different from what I heard many years ago.

  • Haven't hear this version before GREAT you've made my Bee gees fan heart very happy.

  • Go Robin go! You rule!

  • great song and done brilliantly by G4 .Seems G4 were holding back to allow Robin take the song at his pace. These guys can sing anything. You should hear their version of bohemian Rhapsody The original will always be the best but this definitely runs a good second

  • I agree, I think the Bee Gees doing this was absolutely fantastic... this is ok.

  • Wow...my stomach is turning listening to this. Run Robin....Run boy!! This is a true tradgedy. It was such a good song when the Brothers Gibb sang it together, now it has been besmirched by these ham-and-eggers!

  • BeeGees did the bestest version, but that is really great too, specially with Robin Gibb.

  • You got it right, FallStallion! I agree completely - this is a tragedy!!!

  • Well the music buying public and that crowd of several thousand disagreed, it got early Bee Gees back in the charts. (Or not due to a technical problem)

And Robin sounds amazing and probably enjoyed doing this bit of harmony, it certainly sounds like it, what a voice.

  • I like you LukeShoveller! You know what your talking about! Robin is great!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely agree..Robins vocals the BEST!

  • Can you possibly upload " He can't love you baby " of Robin Gibb too? Thanks

  • There seems to be quite a lot of grudges against G4 - any recommendations for a better version of "First of May"?

  • Beautiful harmony!!!! I'm not up on who the band is, but they harmonize beautifully, especially for this song and Robin Gibb's voice. I really liked it.

  • i was going to ask who the hell G4 were, but i repeal and just say I hope Robin Gibb never makes this mistake again. The fans of G4 have no idea what they are witnessing. Its actually sad.

  • Well this single would of got to 6 in the UK charts,(like the album) but it was expelled due to a advertising cock up, this wasn't a mistake I say.;)Robin far outshines G4 but that was entirely expected by everyone because he is unique and incredible, the best.

Its a good record, and a great chance to play the Royal Albert Hall in front of a sell out crowd.;)

  • Robin´s voice is much better and beautiful than the voices of the 4 guys...

  • Absolutely brilliant..Thanks for posting this video

  • E de arrepiar!show de bola Fantástico....

  • piel de gallina.......

  • I agree, that Robin vibrato is like a depth charge, incredible, I haven't heared him sing First of May in his solo set lists, he really should, and release his own version on his next album this November!:D

  • robin blows them out of the water

  • The combination of pop and classic is just perfect. Thanks!

  • i love the song BUT WHO in the blue hell are the 4 fat blokes

  • G4 were winners of a TV show called The X Factor..and went on to relese an Album..this particular piece wit Robin Gibb was released on the G4 & Friends Album..I hope this answer helps?..

  • get rid of these other losers!!! I want to hear ROBIN sing my fav song!

  • Robin has a great voice, but this particular song belongs to Barry

  • the day I lost my brother, May first this song is for him.

  • G4 has great voice, however, this song is meant to have a light pop style. G4 is too serious for this song.

  • Nice song

  • wonderful

  • robin is great. but G4 spolit the song

  • oh wow if you dont get this .can i have a BIG HOUSE SO I DONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT A THING. AND ILL HAVE A BMX..................LOVE THIS SONG

  • amazing!

  • Prick that you are. Idiot.

  • Lord Robin really shines here and just love him so much!!!!!!!!!!Thank-you God for his special voice and gift to the world who needs him still!!!!

  • wonderful

  • try to think this way... Robin is doing his job to refresh the memory or to create the love for all the oldie goodies of Bee Gees. Good work! Robin.

  • chris

  • there's negative comments on this video. robin only joined another group on stage to perform one off his songs. it's not like all the reoginal recordings have been destroyed and only this video is availbale for hearing this song. it's a compliment to be asked to use ones song.

  • what were you thinking Robin, you've belittled this masterpiece into bad karaoke....

  • Comment removed

  • robins song, leave well enough alone, happy memories,g4 were very good, oil and water don't mix

  • It is actually Barry's song. In fact this song was a straw that broke the camel's back for the temporary break up of the BeeGees.

This song of Barry's was picked over one of Robin's songs for the first single to be released from the album of that year.

    The rest is history.

  • when was this recorded?

  • I still Robin! He's still hanson without long hair. lol

  • thought Andy Gibb passed away?

  • he is robin gibb.

  • a love this

  • robin could have delivered this song better by himself. there's a certain way this song has to be sung, it being very sentimental and personal... lulu and maurice's version of this song was way better than this.

  • song is fantastic the original is better

  • Actually it was Robin's twin Maurice that past away, not Barry.

  • In his last few years on earth Maurice sobered up and became, perhaps, the most sensible, and endearing of the brothers. You can't fault Robin's voice, though. The song most associated with the breakup is Robin's solo tour de force "Saved by the Bell", --the epitome of distinctive Bee Gee sound. That song is definitely worthy of posting. Too bad the only SBTB anybody under age 50 remembers is the prepubescent TV series.

  • Forgive me, but I feel like a song in memory of Barry... Robbin shouldn't do it...

  • I prefer the "ORIGINAL". I hate to see it sung by a group. Robbin is theonly guy who can render this song beautifully.

  • Great .. Love G4 So Much x && Miss Them Even More! If I'm Honest, I <3 The Song, But Don' t Like Robin Gibb Much. But Jon Mike Matt & Ben Will Forever Be In My Heart! <3 '=]

  • robbin gibb a legend!!

  • love the song eerrrmm who are the 4 fat blokes

  • That was terrible.

  • This version is bad. Folks, This song is about a broken-hearted man....much like Paul McCartney's "Yesteday." Can you imagine how poor "Yesterday" would sound if sung by a group of men? These kinds of emotional ballads only work when sung by a single man....

  • greaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my uncles favourite bee gees song. think of him every time i listen to this song. miss him very much.

  • I didn't like it, it doesn't have the same feeling of the original version.

  • really awesome..

  • one more thing...those G4 guys sing perfectly, but they don't have the unique characteristics of Robin's voice, this video really shows that. Robin Gibb simply has a voice for the ages.

  • I never get tired of hearing new versions of this song. The youtube post of Maurice singing with Lulu brings tears to my eyes. This version is terrific too! Thanks for posting!!!

  • Not bad, but i think the original version is etter. Nice to see it done differently though.

  • Good singing...but...I'm not sure if this is the best way to sing this song. I dun feel the magic like with the original.

  • I agree; The soaring, neo-operatic treatment seems at odds with such a plaintive song, but I certainly appreciate the effort, just as I love hearing Robin sing. Thanks so much for the post!
