Trouble with F13 series is that they've dated really badly compared to other gory horror films of that time. The strict MPAA didn't help with cutting out a lot of the violent footage.
The cheesiest sequel has to be, hands down, Part 4 , with Fieldman doing a Billy Corgan impression at the end of the film, which was laughable, along with everything else in the film, including Glover's dance moves.
If there was ever a film that needed a MST3K treatment then part 4 would be the one.
@TheFleshGorgerNo1 Jason Goes to Hell in my opinion is the worst and one of the worst movies of all time. Part 5 I think is a good slasher. Part 8, JGTH and JX are where the series really slides to the depths of complete shit. It's funny because Part 8 could have been an amazing film if they actually took it seriously.
Jason goes to hell in my opionion is the best of the friday the 13th films. I will amit that its quite diffrent from the rest of the series and can understand that it distracts from the rest of the series.
@amazmo Jason Goes to Hell is typical Sean Cunningham churned out for cash garbage. Explain how you can find anything redeeming in it. The acting is abysmal even for slasher standards. The Forest has better acting. And it's all shot like a made for TV movie with craptacular news scenes strewn throughout. So many things are just pulled out of thin air like the mansion and Jason's relatives. Conceived solely to provide a means to an end.
Great video man - a very good all around video about Friday the 13th series. I would say my favorites are 3,4,6,1 the rest are ok and worth watching - they all are good for their own reasons. Great video - nice getting the guy from part 6 - 6 is for sure one of the best. the boxset could be MUCH better - they need to have them all uncut imagine that - that would fucking rule. have a great day.
I agree that Jason X is the weakest of the series. I think the three New Line films are the worst. I would say FvJ is my fave of that bunch, and I enjoyed seeing those characters together. For me the series kind of breaks down like this: I LOVE 4-6. Those were the first ones I saw as a kid, and the Tommy Jarvis thread rules, IMO. Second would be 1-3, and some of the stuff in the first two films is amazing...and the chicks are damn hot! Then I would rank 7...part 8 is Paramount's worst.
Great video Uncle Bill! I love these Diary of the Deadpit videos. Well can't wait to see your Halloween video, you've done NOES and F13!!! You've got to do Halloween!

I have parts 1 and 2, I saw part 5 when I was younger, but I never saw 3 or 4. Part 2 sucked, the only thing worth watching it for is the fact it continues through part 3. Part 1 was cool though, haven't yet seen either versions of Black Christmas or Silent Night, Bloody Night
Thanks to everyone for watching this one. A lot of good feedback, and even though it was long, there was no way to go through 11 movies and a book any faster. I appreciate the feedback though.
I have a short attention span and this was not long or boring, so, yeah. Also, once again, I agree about the first film. It has this completely different feel from all the other movies and of course the end *spoiler* Maybe its because I actually saw that film first and not backwards like most these days who think...yeah spoiler about the first. I remember amy steele saying at fango'04 mrs voorhees sweater was disgusting to put on in part 2. I love jason goes to hell, jason x is hilariously good.
Can't agree about the first film being different from any that followed. II was almost exactly the same and even later in the series they followed the same basic formula over and over. But besides that the first III were nearly a xerox of each other. Suprise ending, lake scene etc......
Enjoyed the video lesson and if your gonna cover all the films its gonna be long.......so why complain about that????
I've heard everything from Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash to Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Leatherface, but I think New Line is concentrating on the Friday remake right now.

Yeah, I agree about the New Line additions. I think they just threw too much money, and too many grandiose ideas, at a relatively simple premise.

haha. I'd actually like to see that but wouldn't expect it until December!

Yeah, I was always amazed that "Silent Night, Deadly Night" actually spanned five movies...wtf.
