These cost $10,000 new, which was almost unheard of in 1956. Even at that price, Ford lost money on each one that was built.. Too bad they ended production in 1957 because this car really would have been something with the 400 HP 430 V8 that was introduced then..
Well....it has a Lincoln hood ornament so it is OBVIOUSLY, for all intents and purposes, a Lincoln. Watch the video about its creation....its refered to as a LINCOLN!
Man, the white exterior was beautiful, but when she pulled away and I saw exhaust coming for the bumper ports, I fell in love!
BTW: There was a separate division called Continental. Sadly, it was short-lived, but the illusion of a separate division carried on all the way to the Mark 8, just a smaller continental trunk hub. . Yes, they did have the Licoln name attached once the Mark 7 was born. I've owned a 4/6/8 Mark, and I feel all of these are collectible.
@trice70x7 Ford didn't introduce the Mustang until 1964... This car was made 8 years before that. Maybe Ford recycled the steering wheel design from the Continental for the Mustang?

Continental owners get offended, mustang633NY is right, not a Lincoln at all.

@samspace81 You're right, most people don't know that, I really like to think of them as a Ford Continental, but it's really just a Continental.
