@popesdope86 hondas are probably the most popular two stroke, but yamaha still make and develope them, honda stopped developing 2 strokes in about 2003, and dont count out suzuki, their rm 250s are monsters, they make the most torque, but im definately a 2 stroke guy so im never goin 4 stroke!

I have always rode Honda. I have owned many 2t and 4t but there is nothing better then 2t power and handling. It is a shame Honda stopped production. No matter the brand though, 2t should be the standard for our sport. LONG LIVE THE 2 STROKE!!!!!

Greatest of All Time?!? I don't buy it...you know...He was good, but there's no way I'd give him the credit of being the greatest of all time. He's Good, There's no Denying that. But my main point, is that nobody can seem to remember his early days on a 250, he DOMINATED on a 125, but it wasn't like he just jumped on a 250 & continued dominating...he lived in about 6th or 7th place for a good 3+ Seasons when McGrath was still on top of the supercross scene...

TM, Aprilia, Husqvarna, Maico, Gas Gas aside from Yamaha YZ's and KTM SX's/ EXC's/ XC's/ XC-Ws still make 2-stroke bikes. In Europe, Suzuki still makes 2-stroke RM's.

i don't see why some people think 4 strokes are better. its funny the way people will race a 450 4 stroke against a 250 sized 2 stroke and then say the 4 stroke is better because they beat an engine with half the displacement. 2 strokes are amazingly fun to ride. i miss the days when 2 strokes were roaring down the tracks and dont care much for the whole motocross/ supercross thing anymore now that the big guys ride 4 strokes thanks to the a-holes in the AMA. 2 strokes by far are superior.

there are clean pre-mix oils out there, noise is pollution too you know. I dont think 4 strokes are exactly clean burners either. It is all about money. And 4 strokes are more rookie friendly, which is a big market. You would have to be ignorant to believe this is the EPA caring for the environment, I dont think nascar/monstor trucks/formula/baja have catylitic converters and emissions testing. Fcking politics and greed.

dont forget the 800$ worth of top end parts that used to be 100$ in a two stroke. They get ya when you buy it, they get you again when you need to fix it. You aren´t right. CR 250 2002 make 53 hp, CRF 450 02.08 make 55hp. New, 09 450 CRF with EFI make 56hp. Most powerfull dirtbike is 05-07 CR 250, it produce 60hp on crankshaft.

60 hp for 250 and 42,5hp for 125. That stand in Honda brochure for 05-07 (everything is same 05-07). That power is on crankshaft. CR 500 01 make 69.
