I find the Tar Sands extremely distructive, there is just no way to wrap your mind around the extent of the disregard for life this mining imposes AND I also find it unreasonable that comments like @175yam1 (6 months ago), which voice the economic reality, are marked "SPAM." A loud voice making this attrocity known is vital. Acknowledging the reality of the everyday edge, eg. how to pay the bills & get food etc. must be considered or we are defeated before we take a step.
bad for the enviroment! but good for the economy!maybe look at ways of less poluting but very good if you have a job and a family!but im liveing in england at the moment and its shit here! im trying to get a job in the oil sands im canadian and if i get offerd a job as drillers helper or labourer ill be there like a rat up a drainpipe!to feed my family is more important to me than anything, any contact numbers for a job anyone?
I love how every time one of these things comes up with an international organization commenting on our domestic affairs, they always say what people in some other country think about it.
It's a Canadian matter, so it's what the Canadian people think that matters. We're happy with the way the oil sands business is being conducted.
You can't look at things purely from an environmental perspective. It's a domestic source of oil, which is a good thing. It creates jobs too.
Taking oil out of sand and refining releses 4 times more greenhouse gases than conventional oil. Also, carbon increases temperature, and you call it not a pollutant?!! And also, the comparison with China is India is a very unfair one. Although they do need some wake up calls, they're developing, we're industrialized, we have more ability to control our emissions and even though we agreed to Kyoto, we're failing our objective. If we look at emissions by person, we rank number 1 in the whole world
another thing is anyone who is against the oilsands,if you drive a car are contradicting yourself. we all need oil at least in this day and age....u hippies better get with the times, the world is way to far gone. so by tageting the oilsands you are wasting your time...go get india and china...thing about this next time you fill your car with a nice batch of unleaded premium..
2.The reason why these oil companies dont care about the natives is because most of them are alchoholics that live off government cheques no this isnt bullshit, ive been and seen the natgive communities north of fort.mac
3.The tailing ponds arent toxic the are sampled on a regular basis and returned to a natural vegitative state.
4.The amount of emissions the oilsands produce is like comparing a mouse to an elephant when you compare it to china and India!

Great video!
How about new technologies, like those which break the "laws of physics" yet work, like cold fusion?
Have you seen 'War against cold fusion' documentary (it is on YouTube too) ?
