  • Stevie Ray and New Orleans?...that is the definition of "heaven!"

  • No...passion and perseverance is what got SRV to the level he was. Fuck God....he isn't responsible for jack. I hate people who take away the effort an actual artist has put into their craft and puts it down to God D:<

  • I love this version of the song.

  • Three people must have had SRV's guitar up their ass!!!!

    Gosh I miss this man!!!

  • Look at Chris Layton's (Drummer's) mask!

  • When we lost SRV so did we lose the blues..There ain't been no one like him since.

  • @cast390 And never will be! Period!

  • Gawd the tone is so ....Stevie Raaaar!!!!!

  • That's "Nawlins" to us here ;-)

  • he looks like he is deep in to alcohol and cocaine addiction...in the health aspect he looks horrible...but his playing and showmanship shine just as much as always. Nothing but the best from the best

  • @suspect56

He was clean in 1987 - Unlike Eric Clapton, Mr. Vaughan usually performed well will he was suffering from his addictions, but he was fine by this time (the only performance I have seen posted were he is really suffering is one will he was in Germany; he sweating buckets, begins to slow badly and Chris Layton has to struggle to get him back to the right beat).

  • @711ATOM yeah i realized the year now...but yea SRV's performance never really suffered...i definitely agree on that

  • amazing!!! today is the sad day 20 years ago. this guy was the best R.I.P. "STEVIE"

  • LOL at the crutch sticking out from the crowd at the start!

  • Dude this riff is fucking hard playing on 9 mm strings, and he used fucking 14s!!!!!!

  • @Reverend0Locrian strongest hand in the history of guitar

  • amazing

  • there are no words in this world to describe this man..he's just the guitar god a real one....

  • I vividly recall seeing Stevie Ray at Rutgers in '86. He opened with this number and set the tone for an incredible show. Hendrix's "Third Stone from the Sun" was an unexpected coda!

  • The best rock 'n' roll, boogie woogie guitarist ever!

  • @jgraglan

Take 'Boogie Woogie' out of your comment. SRV was the best guitarist ever... PERIOD!

  • Wow this is a very different version of Scuttle Buttin, I've never heard him play the song this way. It's great really, SRV rocks!

  • This one has keyboards, which is the major difference. More importantly, this is a tune that lends itself well to improvisation. SRV was probably one of the best at this with the possible exception of the late Danny Gatton. If you haven't heard Danny, I strongly recommend looking him up on Youtube. Would have loved to have seen a head cuttin' duel between these two...

  • @Supersuperstar555 He never played a song the same.

  • @Supersuperstar555 For SRV, Scuttle Buttin' was his way of cutting loose. Very rarely did he ever play that song the same way twice, if ever.

  • Damn thats fast.

  • that guitar strap fits him perfect with the notes on it

  • its made for him rip stevie

  • coooooool man
