No...passion and perseverance is what got SRV to the level he was. Fuck God....he isn't responsible for jack. I hate people who take away the effort an actual artist has put into their craft and puts it down to God D:<
I know there's 3 people somewhere that need to be strung by their toes in the dungeon... I don't even know where to find a dungeon, but I would build one especially for them.
he looks like he is deep in to alcohol and cocaine addiction...in the health aspect he looks horrible...but his playing and showmanship shine just as much as always. Nothing but the best from the best
He was clean in 1987 - Unlike Eric Clapton, Mr. Vaughan usually performed well will he was suffering from his addictions, but he was fine by this time (the only performance I have seen posted were he is really suffering is one will he was in Germany; he sweating buckets, begins to slow badly and Chris Layton has to struggle to get him back to the right beat).
I vividly recall seeing Stevie Ray at Rutgers in '86. He opened with this number and set the tone for an incredible show. Hendrix's "Third Stone from the Sun" was an unexpected coda!
This one has keyboards, which is the major difference. More importantly, this is a tune that lends itself well to improvisation. SRV was probably one of the best at this with the possible exception of the late Danny Gatton. If you haven't heard Danny, I strongly recommend looking him up on Youtube. Would have loved to have seen a head cuttin' duel between these two...
Stevie I was named after you muhaha lucky me I wasn't named after chuck then there woudnt be music Life!
chuck doesn't play guitar Chuck rent Stevie to play for him!

@Supersuperstar555 For SRV, Scuttle Buttin' was his way of cutting loose. Very rarely did he ever play that song the same way twice, if ever.
