@deadlyzone3000 No. The reason why they shorted the scene is because Harrison Ford was sick on that day and couldn't do much. He went to Speilberg and Lucas and asked "Can we just shoot the sucker?" They laughed at the idea and decided to film it this way.

Harrison Ford was sick the day they filmed this.(and so was everyone except Steven Speilberg) Originally this was gonna be sort of a bullwhip fight, but Harrison didn't have the energy to do something like that. So he suggested that he just shoot the guy. Thus making this moment hilariously funny yet ridiculously cliched.

Did you know that the day the filmed this, the guy playing Indian Jones, Harrison Ford, needed to use the bathroom because of the spicy food, and he had shot the guy as a joke, and ran to the bathroom.
