I have to agree with you... However, there is one point that I think adds to Sephiroth's credit even more. One of his major goals was to merge with the Lifestream and become a God... Gods are immortal and his consciousness, being the only one that, while in the Lifestream, still has the willpower to stay separate from the other souls and allowing him to return. In essence, with every death he seems to become more God-like. In other words, he did, in fact, succeed, though not the way he planned.
Hmmm... Even though I am a Kefka fan, I must submit that this was a fair and non-bias opinion. Looks like Seph really is the greater villain... I'M SORRY LORD KEFKA! I HAVE FAILED YOU!!
It's quite similar to what Jenova is, threatening and a somber force, yes, but not a villain. Sephiroth feels much of the same with most of the chaos and the evil that occurs largely due to Hojo. If you add in the newly added information that is meant to be in canon to the story, that is to say all the AC, BC, CC, DC additions. Hojo becomes the main villain due to Dirge of Cerberus further buffing his already long resume and makes him a great force to be reckoned with.
Not really going to look at the video, I've already heard all the arguments both sides have put up and I've already chosen my side.
I just want to throw this here. Sephiroth really is mostly an antagonist, structurally and thinking about the story as a whole. Hojo and the Shinra corporation really are the villains of FF7, it's like telling me that Zeromus is the villain of FF4. He isn't. He's just a force that exists and an antagonist, an obstacle.
A person likes Kefka, normaly, 'cause of his clownish way to be, and 'cause of his master point: Magic. At least, that works for me. I normaly like what comes from the mind, and magic is an interpretation of this. And I like clowns. (=p)
Kefka have a great back story that wasn't shown in FFVI, only in it's Ultimania, and even if he didn't had, his story in FFVI makes to it, in my opinion.
finally a well made video bringing up great points on who is the "better" villian. it isn't bias toward ffvi like most of these types of vids on youtube.
now to check out the flame wars in the comments; i'm really gonna enjoy that :D
I have to disagree slightly. Kefka was always on my mind throughout the world of ruin. Just seeing what he had done to the entire planet and knowing he could snuff out any village with a snap of his fingers had a big impact on me. That's me though, I can see why others would feel differently.
But Kefka kills Leo, betrays Gestrahl, splits the team, possibly kills Shadow, kills a good chunk of the world's population, ruins the world, and becomes the God of Magic. They seem equally imposing to me.
@SpazaKill I think the question is: Wtf are YOU talking about? Not once did I mention his reason to kill, I just brought up the facts on how Kefka is a skilless noob and how anyone could have really been the Main villain of Final Fantasy VI. But since you brought it up: Kefka's reason he kills everything - "Why create when it will only be destroyed? Life.... hope... Dreams.... Where do they come from, and where do they go? These meaningless things... i'll destroy them all! Wohohohohoho!"
@Pharphain Continuation - He wants to DESTROY everything because he thinks everything in life is meaningless. Not because he's bored. Not once in the game did Kefka say "I'm bored, let's go kill some innocent people WOHOHOHOH!" Kefka is Cliche (Evil Clown), a Rip off (Of the Joker), and a Weak villain (All the facts I stated saying how weak he really is.)
@Pharphain We've gotta face the facts that no matter what either one of us say to each other you will always prefer Sephiroth (although you haven't said that im just assuming) and i will always prefer Kefka. They are conflicted villains because of how different they are. Sephiroth prefers to take obstacles head on using his own physical prowess and skills to move forward whereas Kefka prefers to toy with his victims and use every advantage he can take. Both have their reasons for how they act.
@SpazaKill Actually, in a previous comment on this video, I stated "I like Kuja the most out of any of the FF Villains, because of many reasons I probably won't bother typing.".
@SpazaKill Religion, ideology, resources, land, spite, love or just because... No matter how pathetic the reason, it's enough to start war. War will never cease to exist... reasons can be thought up after the fact... Human nature pursues strife.
@WhiteLycanXII Totally agree. Kuja caused wars killing billions, Destroys a planet with one wave of his hand, kills your party, provokes death itself, and this may sound petty but... He rides a goddamn Silver Dragon.
Sephiroth was a realy boring and depressing villain, unlike Kefka. He didn't accomplish anything significant in FFVII, he just fails over and over. Kefka destroyed the world and became a God, he was pure evil. He was, and still is, by far, the greatest villain of the FF series. Sephy just has a larger army of fanboys behind him, the younger generation of Final Fantasy fans who didn't grow up playing those masterpieces that were FFIV and FFVI.
@FroggyQC23 There's little point in bringing up fanboys after the kind of comment you just posted. Not that there is ever a point in bringing up fanboys.
@ChaoticDarkShadow I am not impressed by how Kefka acquired power by asking the statues to give him some. I am even less impressed that he was defeated by mortals. Gods make for very poor villains.
i agree sephiroth is one of the best villians of all time the first time i played FF7 even though he was the villian and he killed Aries he always made me think "wow" :)
@ErnilEnNaur lol This reminds me of IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Villians,IGN put Magneto at number 1 because he actually had a reason to take over the world, & Then of course the Joker fanboys started commenting on the video saying things like: Joker should've been number 1 because he didn't need a reason to destroy things, he just did it for fun!
your opinion is near exact to mine. We love both villains equally and as close as it is, we both gave Sephiroth the edge because being bored just doesn't cut it. It's too generalized. A true villain has a deep psychosis and reasoning. So which seems more liek psychological interest? Revenge for being one of the developing monsters you spent life ridiculing and thinking you are a human being but it's all a lie and claiming destiny has chosen you as the angel of death for your dead race? or bored?
@SteelandSouls15 not to take anything away from boredom. There's a deep psychological reasoning behind that too. I believe he had his brain mutated to a sadistic killing machine from partaking in an experiment which leaves you to wonder how the science behind it worked. But then again, it's no different than the old comic book cliche, I got super powers from radioactive waste. It's just kind of a plot point rather than a real reason. But these two are THE BEST villains of Final Fantasy IMO.
Why does everyone seem to forget that the only reason why Kefka was so powerful was because he STOLE the power of the ESPERS??? If he never had the technology to take the espers' powers or if they never existed, it would be insanely easy to kill him and he would be the weakest villain ever!
(continuation) He was just trying to protect "his people", if you know what I mean. I don't really consider that evil, we just have to put ourselves in his shoes and it's easy to understand his point of view of things. So I consider Kefka a better villain, and Sephiroth a better antagonist. And sorry about the two comments, I was tired of Sephiroth vs. Kefka and decided to let it all out in here =P
In my opinion, Sephiroth isn't even truly a villain, not even evil. Kefka (I've never played FF6 so I'm sorry if there's anything wrong), from what I've heard, is completely crazy and he kills people and likes it, he wants to kill them and he doesn't understand friendship or anything like that, now THAT'S being evil. Sephiroth went insane, it's different. He understood friendship, he was respected. When he went insane, humans were evil, because he believed he was a Cetra.
Dissidia was made for those who lack the IQ needed to finish the FF role paying games. for those who prefer graphics over imagination. who prefer the mashing of buttons over strategic menu selections. Those who say that Kefka was just a clown who made jokes and merely comic relief would not know just how deep a character. and madman He actually is. If you got the guts to find out. go finish FF6 first without criticizing it for poor graphics quality. THEN say your piece.
Comparing Kefka and Sephiroth is comparing apples to oranges, so don't.
Besides, Desperado Chaos is now the superior FF villain, even though he's not from a numbered FF. All the badassery of Sephy, all the god power of Keffy, and a fight theme that puts Dancing Mad and One Winged Angel to shame.
@X0xplanetkillerx0X uhm...Ive listened to this theme song you mentioned. And I must say your taste in music sucks just as bad as your choice for a supervillain bad ass. sorry kid.
kefka is a comic relief character. whenever he appears on screen u know that its not going to be a tough battle. at no point in ff6 was kefka ever a threat. thats what makes him a shitty boss.
@L4Dzombiegenocidest uhm...son, where have you been all this time? under a rock? judging from the comment you made, I assume you never even made it past level 15. coz kefka was indeed seemingly like a comic relief character at first. but as to how he wrenched villain bad ass title from his boss at the end of the world of balance. This comic relief character you just mentioned single handedly caused the worldof ruin. He acquired godly powers and succeeded where sephy could dream..."
@johnianflores yes but if u read my comment ud know that hes not a threat to the player, and at no point during the game is he a threat to the player. atleast sephy posed a threat. and couldnt be killed by pressing "A" twice
Sephiroth emotionally interesting and deep? I found his backstory sort of dull and cliché. He wasn't the first white haired badass with a long sword either just like Kefka wasn't the first homocidal clown. If anything, I thought Jenova was more interesting than Sephiroth but like most jrpg villains, it was a distant alien power you don't really see or get much of an understanding about. The only thing I found that made Sephiroth frightening...was Jenova.
@WolfSyn I was simply pointing out that the quality of a character in that sens is not dependent on originality because such a thing is had to come by.
lol kefka died like a boss...not even saying a final word and just watching himself fade away into dust.he turned into the god of magic and pwned the world so hard...wasnt destroyed, but pwned..kefka is just one awesome guy, period ^-^
i salute you kefka, i salute you...
this is only my opinion however...sephiroth is a cool looking villain, but eh..he didnt turn into a god or anything, and i think kefka was tougher to beat.
Dont get me wrong, i like sephiroth too, but just not THAT much
@Mrmcroller this notion that the joker is the first maniacal clown-type character is simply silly and it is one that many people seem to believe. There have been tons of such characters in literature through out history, many of whom preceded both the joker and kefka. i am sorry but it is you whose point is invalid.
@MrRaphal So... your argument against Kefka's lack of originality, is there are not just one, but tons of psychotic clowns to proceed him? o.o
Him calling you out and saying your point is invalid may have been rude... but you might as well have strengthened his argument just before claiming it was in fact he, whose point was invalid.
@EmilEnNaur I disagree. I think his ambiguity is fascinating. And I mean yes, he does have goals in the sense he tries to become all powerful but he doesn't do this to prove something, or get revenge or something along those lines. He does it because he is bored, crazy and simply wants people to die.
@MrRaphal It's not ambiguity that you speak of, it's obscurantism. Not having a motivation is NEVER a good thing. It's more like lazy writing. Besides, saying he does it out of boredom (wrong) and saying he has no motivation (also wrong) is a contradiction. A villain with a complicated backstory is always superior to a villain without one. Substance comes first, style comes second.
WTF you cant say Kefka has a better death scene just because he only dies once. Besides shouldnt the deathscene in the official game be the only one to count? I do not understand your reasoning here.
Are you people kidding me? Kefka is 10 times the villain Sephiroth is. Unlike, Sephiroth, he has no motives, no goals, he just wants to see the world burn. He is not seeking revenge (unlike a certain silver haired guy we all know), he is just bored. Honestly, Kefka is one of the most fascinating, deep, hilarious and mesmerizing villains in video game history. Sephiroth is just a memorable character. Nothing more.
@MrRaphal yh but the fact of wanting to see the world burn is already takien from the Joker, he resembles him very much. seperoth wins for originality and depth, being bored is not depth. sorry, your point is invalid.
i like kefka better only because he has more show time but seph is cooler... i like seph theme better then kefkas but i like dancing mad better then OWA but a better musical them shouldnt persuade u to whos better
In FF7, just seeing Sephiroth walk around during a cutscene made you nervous since in Clouds flashback, you see him dish out 3000+ damage. (At the time our characters are only dealing 500 on a critical.)
It was also insane seeing the blood trails in the Shinra building.
dude i have never played a final fantasy game and i think kefka is a better villain. 1. he gets what he dos done .2. he has a 1 hit ko over sephiroth.3. hes not the easiest boss in gaming history watch the easiest bosses from peanut3423 the 2010 version.4.kefka becomes a god gimmicky i know.5.he has more forms the sephiroth.6.his character is based off of the guy who made the some of the most evil writings.7.face it he has more pleasant to be near.8.sephiroth is a minion not a villian
So wait.. like... besides the small similarity between the experiment thing (which you'd still have to make a broad generaliztion about) what about Sephiroth was anything like Kefka?
Sephiroth: Product of an experiment gone horribly right. Became an invincible warrior hero, idolized by the protagonist. Goes crazy after realizing what he is. Kills the protagonist's friends and family. Protagonist kills him in revenge, epicly. Uses his alien half mom's body as a host and comes back. Plans to summon the apocalypse so he can absorb the planet's energy used to stop it. Kills the one girl who can stop him. Manipulates protagonist and successfully summons it. Gets killed, again.
The difference is that Kefka, without a doubt, accomplished everything he set out to do. After ruining the world with the warring trio, he rules the destroyed world- and gets bored. Kefka won and waited an entire year for the party to meet him. Without a doubt, he accomplished what Sephiroth didn't. Plus, he came first in the series and Sephiroth followed him. In EVERYTHING HE DID. EVERYTHING......except succeding, lol.
Ok, I've gotta say, I dissagree with this video. What many people don't realize is that Kefka and Sephiroth did exactly the same things from beginning to end in what they accomplish. Both are the product of experiments gone wrong - or rather, horribly right (not just Kefka, but Sephiroth also). Both are created by evil empires that they later single-handedly destroy. Both destroy the hometown of one of the characters (Doma and Nibelheim, of course), and many other things that I could compare.
A make-up wearing clown is not a deep villain. He was only able to do the things he did with help from his followers. Seph did all that on his own. One badass against the whole world.
Personally, I think that Sephiroth is far more terrifying than Kefka bc whereas Kefka is basically like the Joker, Sephiroth not only get enjoyment out of killing, but he feels the need to kill everything. He not only hates humanity but believes that his mother and him are eternal and can never be killed. He's also completely unstoppable. A combination of unstoppable power and insanity cuts deeper than anything.
i was to clear up a typo in my last comment, when i said most of the videos about how kefka is better then sephiroth are made by kefka fans" i ment to say "most of the videos about kefka vs sephiroth"
IMO Kefka is more entertaining than Sephiroth, but Seph is much more badass and scary(I will never forget Sephiroth's ghost-like apparitions with "Those Chosen by the Planet" and the sound of heart-beats playing in the background).
But I wouldn't call any of them "good villains". From my experience, the only real good FF main-villain was Kuja(entertaining personality, cool dialogue, interesting backstory, impressive feats, intelligence, etc). All the other villains are too much cliche IMO.
@Ukaran I'd never consider either Kefka nor Sephiroth to be cliche. They share similarities with legendary villains of course (Kefka/Joker; Sephiroth/Griffith...ok that's a stretch), but Kefka is entertaining in a way that most villains are not and Sephiroth is the first villain in FF that made me think about what it he must have felt before going insane. Kefka's the funny guy, Sephiroth is the intensely emotionally involving guy. Bit of a non sequitor this reply, sorry.
But as VILLIANS go. I believe kefka is the better villian. He wants to kill everything just because he wants to, and he's completely insane. Sephiroth wants to because he feels the planet belongs to jenova, and the humans ruined her chance to claim it. Kefka is just an ass.
So frankly I don't like how they put little to no thought in kefkas background story. It's something I could think up in my head in a moment. But sephiroths was much more in-depth. They even have the Crisis Core game that lets you go even deeper into his background story. Overall I just think he was a much better and thought of character.
Personally I like Sephiroth more. Mainly because of there background stories. Kefka's main background story was he was experimented on, and infused with magic, which made him insane. I'm sorry but that just... Doesn't do it for me. Sephiroth was a superior soldier who was sent on a mission, on this mission he finds he isn't "human" but is the product of a biological experiment using cells from the extraterrestrial lifeform Jenova. Sephiroths story is much more in-depth. Plus he's just badass. :)
I'm surprised you have the patience to debate with all these guys commenting on your video Ernil. Its been going off and on for nearly 2 years lol.
I mean, having a good debate with someone who disagrees is all fine and dandy, but too often it erupts into blind rage when it comes to the Final Fantasy fan base. Seriously, it saddens me how many of us just can't get along and accept an opinion for what it is. Even when you outlined clearly that your decision is nothing set in stone.
@WolfSyn That us true. A lot of FF fans are very very confrontational. I myself am always open to the possibility that my position is wrong and I never think my opinion is fact. For example: I hate Seymour Guado and I think that he is a terrible villain, but if somebody thought that he was the best villain ever, I would not claim that that person's opinion was wrong or stupid, his/her opinion would be just as valid as mine and he/she might actually end up changing my mind.
@ErnilEnNaur I'm not a huge fan of Seymour either. His look, and his voice annoy me. Also at first he seemed way too obvious he was a villain. I actually think he was pretty interesting towards the end however. His ultimate goal to kill all of Spira in order to save it was original. Also its not hard to understand why he got messed up, with his mom giving her life to become a fayth. Actually now I think of it, Seymour probably blamed his father for his mom's death, and that's why he killed him.
I'm not sure which was actually the better villain... I mean, both were insane, but I felt pity for Kefka. His madness came due to his brain melting from magicite. Or maybe, rather, not made, but reinforced. Sephiroth was a super soldier, designed for killing. Since I'm at a bit of an impasse, I'd say the better villain is... Zemus!
@YungTy the joker was different from kefka. The joker rarely did much himself,he had lackeys do a lot of work.I mean:Kefka killed a bunch of espers himself and killed general leo and also killed gestahl.
He tricked everybody, and even if at first he depended on gestahl a little,he was probably planning to stab him in the back.
I have to question your "Unbiased opinion" here. "All other villians strive to be Sephiroth" I'm sorry but the whole decent madness thing then world domination thing has been done before FF7. I feel both villians are not completely original, no character is every truly original, and I prefer neither as both work well for villians in their respective games.
FYI Dracula from Castlevania has been dipicted as wearing a black cloak AND long white hair LONG before Sephiroth.
People say that Sephiroth is a super-soldier... But he was a super-soldier BEFORE FFVII. During FFVII he is like a parasite at the center of the planet, feeding from it's energy, more than anything else.
People underestimate Sephiroth against Kefka, because they still think of Sephiroth as a mere super-soldier, while thinking of Kefka as a God. But they forget that Sephiroth became one with Jenova, a planetary parasite, the same way Kefka became one with the three goddesses of magic.
@darsdars1 Kefka fans are so intelligent in their insults. By the way, do you hate Norman Bates? The classic villain from Hitchcock's Psycho, who said that "A boy's best friend is his mother.
@ErnilEnNaur ff7 fanboys are even worse with their insults though. anyone of them pulls out the "better game" when they know their villain is the omega. i don't care if ff7 has 10 million copies sold, if ff6 was 3d it would have the same amount sold. that is why people prefer it. or they just haven't played ff6. the only arguments against kefka or ff6 in general are that he doesn't have a big sword. i love it when the fanboy retreat into saying having them go 1 on 1. never really liked sephy :P
@McScreamo FF VII fanboys aren't nearly as confrontational. You see plenty of people bashing VII on FF VI related videos, not so much the other way round. Graphics can explain a game's initial appeal, but they don't explain why a game is so beloved even decades later. FF VI and VII both have obsolete graphics by today's standards, but they've stood the test of time with their characters and storytelling. Kefka is cool villain as is Sephiroth, but neither one is perfect.
@ErnilEnNaur well maybe if the ff7 fanbys would stop with the best game ever bull crap maybe everyone could be happy. not only do ff6 fans hate them, but so do a bunch of others too. ff4 fans, ff8 fans, ff10 fans, and we are all sick of it. it's not the best playstation game, it's not the best rpg game, and it isn't the best game in general. as for villainy, yes sephroth has a back story but he doesn't accomplish anything he also lacks personality. at least kefka succeeds and has personality
@McScreamo So you are saying that when asked about their opinion, FF VII fans have no right to say what they think? Isn't that a little extreme? I happen to think that Shadows Of Amn is the greatest game of all time game. Do I need to shut up now, because you think that title belongs to some other game?
@McScreamo Also, Kefka didn't win, he got killed in the end. Of course, making the world a horrible place was success, but then again so was Sephiroth's manipulation of Cloud. Either way, they both got their asses beaten. See Arthas sitting on the Frozen Throne for a villain that actually won at the end of the game. Don't even get me started with personality. Kefka is crazy and nihilistic, that's it. Sephiroth is vengeful, sadistic, overly-confident, obsessive, and so on. Oh, and Kefka is funny.
@ErnilEnNaur playing the role of god is pretty much a success even if it wasn't for eternity, sephiroth may have been scary for some people but i have seen more sick and twisted. like mithos from tales of symphonia who thinks his dead sister is actually alive and tries to kill off humanity by creating a super-sized planet of mana. or dhoulmagus from dragon quest, he kills off all the sacred sages that protect the planet.
@McScreamo I find it quite shallow that people evaluate a villain by his bodycount. By that logic Hannibal Lecter isn't much of a villain, but the aliens from Independence Day are great.
@ErnilEnNaur the accomplishments of a villain are a great aspect. usually villains don't succeed in video games or general unlike kefka. although there are other villains that are sinister and evil like ex-death. but sephiroth is just a joke to me.
@McScreamo Temporary victories are the norm for villains. Vader, Hannibal Lecter, Independence Day aliens, Sephiroth, Arthas, Archimonde, Ganondorf, Morgoth, Griffith, Kira, the list goes ever on. All of them achieved great things and caused untold misery to the protagonist(s).
@ErnilEnNaur and yet you still don't appraise kefka for his greatness? he destroyed most of humanity and people have the balls to prefer a gothic black leather wearing trench coat with an over-sized sword he can't even carry? he must not be affected by gravity. anyone with with a working gag reflex realizes how dumb and retarded this guy is. might explain why god only gave him 1 wing...
@McScreamo I like Kefka. He's entertaining and he dies a proper death and stays dead. But his bodycount I couldn't care less about. Killing people by pushing a conveniently acquired ruin the world button isn't impressive or creative storytelling. You need to learn to be less fanatical and except different opinions, you are giving FF VI fans a bad name with your fanboy nonsense and VII-bashing.
@ErnilEnNaur yeah i'm pretty damn sure cloud moping through the whole game isn't great story telling either. oh wait it is because everyone loves emo spiky haired anime characters with oversized compensating swords. it's common ritual. yeah i forgot that one. rpg rule #1 - every rpg needs to have 3d characters with 2d personalities and development. or villains that have as much character in them as a flaming bag of burning shit. you ff7 fanatical fanboys are all the same.
@McScreamo Your replies are descending in quality every time. Cloud has real issues and real problems, so does Terra, so does Squall, so does Cecil, so does every protagonist. If you want to call Cloud emo, then go ahead and call everyone emo who sometimes gets scared and confused like a normal human being. Your hypocrisy in calling me a fanboy is so disgusting that it is almost funny.
@ErnilEnNaur and if you think ff6 fanbase is so "bad" then how about you take a look at ff7's fanbase? a bunch of whining fuckheads that disregard every game other than it's own and milked sequels. and personally i'm an ff4 fan. it's my favorite but i already know it's not the best. but it sure is damn better than ff7. same with a lot of other games. now i see why people say that the ff7 fanbase is so dim-witted. they think so highly of their game and don't try other games. i smell ignorance :P
@McScreamo I have nothing against the FF VI fanbase, I belong to that fanbase as do all my friends. I have even reviewed the game and explained why it is great. But unlike you I don't feel the need to attack other games for the sake of my ego. I have never met a fan of Final Fantasy VII or it's spin-offs who was anywhere near as arrogant, hypocritical and mean-spirited as you are and made up lies about entire groups of people to justify his own irrational jealousy and hatred.
@ErnilEnNaur weren't you just going on about explaining and digressing ones opinions? what an unintelligent answer. but i guess i should have sympathy for how low the ff7 fuckheads like to strike back. and if you cared to use your brain listen, i am not not a big ff6 fan. rather an old school fan who actually sees the series deteriorating starting with ff7. but i guess if your so butthurt from aids received earlier i'll call just sum it down to an opinion. i don't like it.
@ErnilEnNaur again i have to explain that i clearly said that the "opinion" was said to point it out afterwards. you know the "i don't like it" part. yeah, that was it. i guess now aids, the infamous white blood cell killing virus can now affect peoples comprehension. there we go, another aids joke for you to inject. if you can't see that ff7 has a bad character set, repetitive gameplay, no difficulty and a villain with an oedipus complex then i have nothing else to say.
@McScreamo Have you read Oedipus? It's a pretty interesting tale actually, of course I would not expect someone like you to know what his talking about. You don't know anything other than your spite, as you have repeatedly demonstrated.
You should have stayed away, you've embarrassed FF VI fans enough and as one of them, I am not happy with you. Why don't you go and tell Norman Bates what a momma's boy he is an see how far that gets you.
@McScreamo I don't get how Final Fantasy 7 fan base is a bunch of immature morons. It doesn't matter what your a fan of, your gonna find people like that all over the place. Final Fantasy series is no exception. They're always gonna be people freaking out about how their favorite is the bestest one ever. Tell me, how often do you hear "OMG FF7 is so overrated! Cloud is so emo! Hur Sephiroth has an oedipus complex!"?
I think you might be listening to those people a bit too much...
@McScreamo I've not said one bad or good word about FF VII fanboys, you have. You're actually confusing me with you. Man, you're decent into madness is a swift one...
@ErnilEnNaur there's other people to throw a fit at you know. this all started when you made accusations of ff6 fans being straight up with dissing sephy. you're clearly being bias here. if you truly are a fan of both you would look into the suggestion videos and see a video called "top 10 reasons why sephiroth is better than kefka". and you said that ff6 fans are in you're face about this ordeal? yeah after watching that 0:41 second video i now question ff7 fanbase intelligence. it's that bad
@McScreamo Oh, welcome back to the world of coherent sentences. I said that FF VII fans aren't as confrontational as FF VI fans, which is true. On videos of FFVII, people don't verbally abuse FF VI, the opposite is not true. With the exception of my review, which seems to have attracted no fanboys, but only loyal fans like myself (thank heaven).
@ErnilEnNaur wow how egotistical are you? you're so full of shit! god how does anyone like you get any friends? fuck the games, this just became a personal war. and how is it that every time i post a comment your on my ass with another one in like 3 fucking minutes? are you ever off the computer by any chance?? seriously i even left you alone for like a week before you got another period and started raging me! and stop Google searching word definitions."coherent"? you're not fooling anyone here.
@McScreamo I get an e-mail notification if someone has replied to me. Youtube and Gmail are under the same company, you know. Also, I am not interested in a personal war, but since you claim things like "FFVII fans are idiots who have never played other games" as if it was an empirical fact, then I am going to call bullshit. As a bullshit artist, I am sure you're used to getting told the truth by intelligent people like me.
@ErnilEnNaur ff7 is a good game and all,but the fanboys do get a little crazy sometimes.
Look at egotasticripoff and average gamerx.
These people are the worse the fanbase has to offer as they seem to be very extreme on the ff7 loving side and worshipping it and hating on ff6 for making the statement on their game:it isn't flawless as you think.
Now some people go too far on the ff6 part,i admit this.
This being:People like anonymousxxxxxx insulting dragon warrior was an asshole move.
@piromaniac9999 Have you ever considered the possibly all these FF7 fan worshipers, only started insulting the other Final Fantasy's as a retaliation for all the hate FF7 gets?
For every Yin, there is a Yang. While FF7 has the biggest fanbase, it also has the most haters, angry at the games over popularity. It gets the most attention, positive and negative. I'm a FF7 fan, but I'm also a classic FF fan. And let me tell you, FF7 fanboys can not match the fanboys of every other FF combined.
The ff7 fanbase is huge and for every person who hates on it,there are 100 who worship the ground it walks on.
Naturally:People are angry because the ff7 fanboys say:this is the best game evarr best villain etc etc and then people say:did you play ff6? chrono trigger? ultima? wizardry? might and magic? How can you be so sure?
There is also a lot of nostalgia getting in the way of being their first rpg.
@piromaniac9999 actually i find ff4 to be my favorite with ff6 right behind. ff tactics would probably be my third fav. then maybe 9 and then 5. the nes ff games are the most underrated in the series. it's kind of sad because there not bad games. but not many people talk about them. at least for regular fans in the series. it's usually 7 and up. but really the ff series in general gets too much attention. i think the DQ/DW series is much better (as a whole) than the FF series as a whole
@WolfSyn Do you honestly think people hate the game just because? there is a lot of hate due to the way people treat the game itself as the holy grail or something or second coming of jesus.
Neither ff6 nor ff7 deserve this special treatment, there are other games in the series that are excellent.
FF5 has great gameplay
ff8 has some interesting ideas a card game that had some good ideas but turned wrong due to making the gamers depend too much on it to get their spells.
@ErnilEnNaur That being said,i think the game's biggest fanbase problem is the people who overrate it to hell and back by over praising it like they would by devoting a shrine to it and worshipping it.
I noticed some creepy ff6 fans lately and i find that very creepy thing.
I play games because they are fun not to worship a game.
If i think its good and i like it,i will play it regardless of what others think
No game should have people bow down and worship its greatness, because its a game.
@piromaniac9999 You may be surprised, but I find FF7 is a bit overrated. I love that game, its one of my favorites, but i can think of plenty of rpgs that deserve just as much praise.
I'd also like to point out, people generally view rpgs as more than just a "game". They view it as a story, that holds many experiences for them they can not forget. People become emotionally involved. There's a reason why every time I'm have beat a good rpg I get sad during the credits. I don't want it to end.
@WolfSyn A bit is overrating it,more like:A fucking truckload of overrated is ff7.
ff6 is overrated too a bit.
And i know what you mean,i felt that way when chrono trigger ended and illusion of gaia and ff6.
But even then,i still know that its still just a game and like a good book, you take it up once in a while to read it and enjoy it but you don't dedicate your whole life to that one product,be it:a game movie or book.

If anything, the actual debate should be Kefka vs Hojo.
If you want to debate Sephiroth. Then I'd debate Sephiroth vs Atma/God Statues as there's a relative lack of an equivalent for Sephiroth in FF6.
Testsubject909 3 weeks ago
It's quite similar to what Jenova is, threatening and a somber force, yes, but not a villain. Sephiroth feels much of the same with most of the chaos and the evil that occurs largely due to Hojo. If you add in the newly added information that is meant to be in canon to the story, that is to say all the AC, BC, CC, DC additions. Hojo becomes the main villain due to Dirge of Cerberus further buffing his already long resume and makes him a great force to be reckoned with.
Testsubject909 3 weeks ago

I have to disagree slightly. Kefka was always on my mind throughout the world of ruin. Just seeing what he had done to the entire planet and knowing he could snuff out any village with a snap of his fingers had a big impact on me. That's me though, I can see why others would feel differently.
xyz54047 2 months ago
First off, EVERYONE is a fanboy, even if they say they aren't.
Second I agree with every part of this vid except the overall achievement section...
Sephiroth killed Areis permanently, killed President Shinra, destroyed Midgar, unleashed monsters...
But Kefka kills Leo, betrays Gestrahl, splits the team, possibly kills Shadow, kills a good chunk of the world's population, ruins the world, and becomes the God of Magic. They seem equally imposing to me.
perun1nj 2 months ago
Kefka was a skilless noob:
First half of the game, he was Gestahl's puppet,
Kefka needed the help from lackeys half the game,
He couldn't even burn down Figaro with MAGIC for crying out loud,
Instead of pwning everyone at Doma, he poisons the water. Anyone could do that.
They way he ruined the surface (NOT destroyed the world.) was lame... *Pushes statues*
once again, anyone could do that.
Pushed Gestahl off the floating continent. once again, Anyone could do that.
Pharphain 2 months ago
@Pharphain Continuation---
And finally, Probably anyone could also drain a couple of statues power to become a God of Magic in the Final Fantasy Universe.
Honestly, anyone could have been the villain in Final Fantasy VI.
It's all a matter of opinion really to whom the best Final Fantasy Villain is.
If you like Kefka better? More power to you. Like Sephiroth better? More power to you.
I like Kuja the most out of any of the FF Villains, because of many reasons I probably won't bother typing.

Pharphain 1 month ago

93vincentvalentine 3 months ago 2
your opinion is near exact to mine. We love both villains equally and as close as it is, we both gave Sephiroth the edge because being bored just doesn't cut it. It's too generalized. A true villain has a deep psychosis and reasoning. So which seems more liek psychological interest? Revenge for being one of the developing monsters you spent life ridiculing and thinking you are a human being but it's all a lie and claiming destiny has chosen you as the angel of death for your dead race? or bored?
SteelandSouls15 3 months ago 6
@SteelandSouls15 not to take anything away from boredom. There's a deep psychological reasoning behind that too. I believe he had his brain mutated to a sadistic killing machine from partaking in an experiment which leaves you to wonder how the science behind it worked. But then again, it's no different than the old comic book cliche, I got super powers from radioactive waste. It's just kind of a plot point rather than a real reason. But these two are THE BEST villains of Final Fantasy IMO.
SteelandSouls15 3 months ago
Why does everyone seem to forget that the only reason why Kefka was so powerful was because he STOLE the power of the ESPERS??? If he never had the technology to take the espers' powers or if they never existed, it would be insanely easy to kill him and he would be the weakest villain ever!
OddtypeLPs 3 months ago
@OddtypeLPs Ok, kefka didnt use technology to steal the GODDESSES powers. not the espers. just clearing this up.
MythicRayn 3 months ago
(continuation) He was just trying to protect "his people", if you know what I mean. I don't really consider that evil, we just have to put ourselves in his shoes and it's easy to understand his point of view of things. So I consider Kefka a better villain, and Sephiroth a better antagonist. And sorry about the two comments, I was tired of Sephiroth vs. Kefka and decided to let it all out in here =P
anamagalhaes92 3 months ago

@Mrmcroller this notion that the joker is the first maniacal clown-type character is simply silly and it is one that many people seem to believe. There have been tons of such characters in literature through out history, many of whom preceded both the joker and kefka. i am sorry but it is you whose point is invalid.
MrRaphal 4 months ago
@MrRaphal So... your argument against Kefka's lack of originality, is there are not just one, but tons of psychotic clowns to proceed him? o.o

@EmilEnNaur I disagree. I think his ambiguity is fascinating. And I mean yes, he does have goals in the sense he tries to become all powerful but he doesn't do this to prove something, or get revenge or something along those lines. He does it because he is bored, crazy and simply wants people to die.
Cookie?? What?
MrRaphal 5 months ago 2
@MrRaphal It's not ambiguity that you speak of, it's obscurantism. Not having a motivation is NEVER a good thing. It's more like lazy writing. Besides, saying he does it out of boredom (wrong) and saying he has no motivation (also wrong) is a contradiction. A villain with a complicated backstory is always superior to a villain without one. Substance comes first, style comes second.

WTF you cant say Kefka has a better death scene just because he only dies once. Besides shouldnt the deathscene in the official game be the only one to count? I do not understand your reasoning here.
TheOneOwner 5 months ago
Are you people kidding me? Kefka is 10 times the villain Sephiroth is. Unlike, Sephiroth, he has no motives, no goals, he just wants to see the world burn. He is not seeking revenge (unlike a certain silver haired guy we all know), he is just bored. Honestly, Kefka is one of the most fascinating, deep, hilarious and mesmerizing villains in video game history. Sephiroth is just a memorable character. Nothing more.

In FF7, just seeing Sephiroth walk around during a cutscene made you nervous since in Clouds flashback, you see him dish out 3000+ damage. (At the time our characters are only dealing 500 on a critical.)
It was also insane seeing the blood trails in the Shinra building.

1) Kefka might not look menacing, but still manages to be anyway because of the things he does.
2) Sephiroth looks cooler.
3) I Like Dancing Mad more than OWA.
4) Kefka > Sephiroth in terms of difficulty. Which is sad because Kefka is already pathetically easy.
5) Kefka is way more entertaining.
6) They both have a similar backstory, and none of them is actually deeper.
7) The player's perception about Kefka changes as the game progresses.
8) I like them both. But I think Kefka is better.

Warcrafter4 6 months ago
So wait.. like... besides the small similarity between the experiment thing (which you'd still have to make a broad generaliztion about) what about Sephiroth was anything like Kefka?
WolfSyn 6 months ago
Sephiroth: Product of an experiment gone horribly right. Became an invincible warrior hero, idolized by the protagonist. Goes crazy after realizing what he is. Kills the protagonist's friends and family. Protagonist kills him in revenge, epicly. Uses his alien half mom's body as a host and comes back. Plans to summon the apocalypse so he can absorb the planet's energy used to stop it. Kills the one girl who can stop him. Manipulates protagonist and successfully summons it. Gets killed, again.
WolfSyn 6 months ago
Your copy of sephiroth, you listed Inuyasha's half brother despite the comic being release a year before Final Fantasy VII
TheBT 6 months ago
The difference is that Kefka, without a doubt, accomplished everything he set out to do. After ruining the world with the warring trio, he rules the destroyed world- and gets bored. Kefka won and waited an entire year for the party to meet him. Without a doubt, he accomplished what Sephiroth didn't. Plus, he came first in the series and Sephiroth followed him. In EVERYTHING HE DID. EVERYTHING......except succeding, lol.
HappleProductions 6 months ago
@HappleProductions Only if you make complete broad generalizations about the two villains... and even then I disagree.
WolfSyn 6 months ago
Ok, I've gotta say, I dissagree with this video. What many people don't realize is that Kefka and Sephiroth did exactly the same things from beginning to end in what they accomplish. Both are the product of experiments gone wrong - or rather, horribly right (not just Kefka, but Sephiroth also). Both are created by evil empires that they later single-handedly destroy. Both destroy the hometown of one of the characters (Doma and Nibelheim, of course), and many other things that I could compare.
HappleProductions 6 months ago
A make-up wearing clown is not a deep villain. He was only able to do the things he did with help from his followers. Seph did all that on his own. One badass against the whole world.

Personally, I think that Sephiroth is far more terrifying than Kefka bc whereas Kefka is basically like the Joker, Sephiroth not only get enjoyment out of killing, but he feels the need to kill everything. He not only hates humanity but believes that his mother and him are eternal and can never be killed. He's also completely unstoppable. A combination of unstoppable power and insanity cuts deeper than anything.

Ukaran 6 months ago
@Ukaran I'd never consider either Kefka nor Sephiroth to be cliche. They share similarities with legendary villains of course (Kefka/Joker; Sephiroth/Griffith...ok that's a stretch), but Kefka is entertaining in a way that most villains are not and Sephiroth is the first villain in FF that made me think about what it he must have felt before going insane. Kefka's the funny guy, Sephiroth is the intensely emotionally involving guy. Bit of a non sequitor this reply, sorry.
ErnilEnNaur 6 months ago
But as VILLIANS go. I believe kefka is the better villian. He wants to kill everything just because he wants to, and he's completely insane. Sephiroth wants to because he feels the planet belongs to jenova, and the humans ruined her chance to claim it. Kefka is just an ass.
shadows124 6 months ago
So frankly I don't like how they put little to no thought in kefkas background story. It's something I could think up in my head in a moment. But sephiroths was much more in-depth. They even have the Crisis Core game that lets you go even deeper into his background story. Overall I just think he was a much better and thought of character.
shadows124 6 months ago
Personally I like Sephiroth more. Mainly because of there background stories. Kefka's main background story was he was experimented on, and infused with magic, which made him insane. I'm sorry but that just... Doesn't do it for me. Sephiroth was a superior soldier who was sent on a mission, on this mission he finds he isn't "human" but is the product of a biological experiment using cells from the extraterrestrial lifeform Jenova. Sephiroths story is much more in-depth. Plus he's just badass. :)
shadows124 6 months ago
I'm surprised you have the patience to debate with all these guys commenting on your video Ernil. Its been going off and on for nearly 2 years lol.
I mean, having a good debate with someone who disagrees is all fine and dandy, but too often it erupts into blind rage when it comes to the Final Fantasy fan base. Seriously, it saddens me how many of us just can't get along and accept an opinion for what it is. Even when you outlined clearly that your decision is nothing set in stone.
WolfSyn 6 months ago
@WolfSyn That us true. A lot of FF fans are very very confrontational. I myself am always open to the possibility that my position is wrong and I never think my opinion is fact. For example: I hate Seymour Guado and I think that he is a terrible villain, but if somebody thought that he was the best villain ever, I would not claim that that person's opinion was wrong or stupid, his/her opinion would be just as valid as mine and he/she might actually end up changing my mind.
ErnilEnNaur 6 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur I'm not a huge fan of Seymour either. His look, and his voice annoy me. Also at first he seemed way too obvious he was a villain. I actually think he was pretty interesting towards the end however. His ultimate goal to kill all of Spira in order to save it was original. Also its not hard to understand why he got messed up, with his mom giving her life to become a fayth. Actually now I think of it, Seymour probably blamed his father for his mom's death, and that's why he killed him.
WolfSyn 6 months ago
I'm not sure which was actually the better villain... I mean, both were insane, but I felt pity for Kefka. His madness came due to his brain melting from magicite. Or maybe, rather, not made, but reinforced. Sephiroth was a super soldier, designed for killing. Since I'm at a bit of an impasse, I'd say the better villain is... Zemus!

I disagree with this video on many things:
Kefka was threatening,it was his unpredictability which made him threatening.
When he poisoned doma,we see just how low and dirty he is,or when he kills emperor gestahl and torches the village of the magi.
It is his underhanded tactics and him being a psycho that nmakes him so detestable, like a cockroach.
piromaniac9999 7 months ago 5
@piromaniac9999 Yet, people love him for it, just as they love Joker for it, so how is that being detested?
YungTy 4 months ago
@YungTy the joker was different from kefka. The joker rarely did much himself,he had lackeys do a lot of work.I mean:Kefka killed a bunch of espers himself and killed general leo and also killed gestahl.
He tricked everybody, and even if at first he depended on gestahl a little,he was probably planning to stab him in the back.
piromaniac9999 4 months ago
I would rather be in the same room with Kefka and Sephiroth for 24 hours than to be alone with Seymour... trust me....

@ErnilEnNaur I prefer ff7 but if im honest i think that number 6's graphics are easier to look at than 7's now
DarkishWings 7 months ago
Also Sesshomaru has been around since 1996, and has had the long white hair since his premier.
ijjiDemoman 7 months ago
I have to question your "Unbiased opinion" here. "All other villians strive to be Sephiroth" I'm sorry but the whole decent madness thing then world domination thing has been done before FF7. I feel both villians are not completely original, no character is every truly original, and I prefer neither as both work well for villians in their respective games.
FYI Dracula from Castlevania has been dipicted as wearing a black cloak AND long white hair LONG before Sephiroth.
ijjiDemoman 7 months ago
kefka fuck the world twice so yeah
superherox7 7 months ago
Well, Sephiroth is that great but i think Kefka is better..

great video, however I do agree that sephiroth is great, but I believe that Kefka is better...

Sephiroth: Most badass villian ever!

You know Alucard (1:52) had been in existence since 1990 when he first appeared in Castlevania III, right?
XZero264 7 months ago
@XZero264 Not with that design, that's my point. Alucard looked very different before 1997.

SEPHIROTH FTW!!!
Scarlett76Midnight 7 months ago 3
People say that Sephiroth is a super-soldier... But he was a super-soldier BEFORE FFVII. During FFVII he is like a parasite at the center of the planet, feeding from it's energy, more than anything else.
People underestimate Sephiroth against Kefka, because they still think of Sephiroth as a mere super-soldier, while thinking of Kefka as a God. But they forget that Sephiroth became one with Jenova, a planetary parasite, the same way Kefka became one with the three goddesses of magic.

darsdars1 8 months ago
@darsdars1 Kefka fans are so intelligent in their insults. By the way, do you hate Norman Bates? The classic villain from Hitchcock's Psycho, who said that "A boy's best friend is his mother.
ErnilEnNaur 8 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur ff7 fanboys are even worse with their insults though. anyone of them pulls out the "better game" when they know their villain is the omega. i don't care if ff7 has 10 million copies sold, if ff6 was 3d it would have the same amount sold. that is why people prefer it. or they just haven't played ff6. the only arguments against kefka or ff6 in general are that he doesn't have a big sword. i love it when the fanboy retreat into saying having them go 1 on 1. never really liked sephy :P
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo FF VII fanboys aren't nearly as confrontational. You see plenty of people bashing VII on FF VI related videos, not so much the other way round. Graphics can explain a game's initial appeal, but they don't explain why a game is so beloved even decades later. FF VI and VII both have obsolete graphics by today's standards, but they've stood the test of time with their characters and storytelling. Kefka is cool villain as is Sephiroth, but neither one is perfect.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur well maybe if the ff7 fanbys would stop with the best game ever bull crap maybe everyone could be happy. not only do ff6 fans hate them, but so do a bunch of others too. ff4 fans, ff8 fans, ff10 fans, and we are all sick of it. it's not the best playstation game, it's not the best rpg game, and it isn't the best game in general. as for villainy, yes sephroth has a back story but he doesn't accomplish anything he also lacks personality. at least kefka succeeds and has personality
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo So fans of FF VII don't have the right to express their opinion?
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur spouting out the words best game ever blatantly in every video is not opinion. it's not an opinion when it's expressed as a fact.
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo So you are saying that when asked about their opinion, FF VII fans have no right to say what they think? Isn't that a little extreme? I happen to think that Shadows Of Amn is the greatest game of all time game. Do I need to shut up now, because you think that title belongs to some other game?
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@McScreamo Also, Kefka didn't win, he got killed in the end. Of course, making the world a horrible place was success, but then again so was Sephiroth's manipulation of Cloud. Either way, they both got their asses beaten. See Arthas sitting on the Frozen Throne for a villain that actually won at the end of the game. Don't even get me started with personality. Kefka is crazy and nihilistic, that's it. Sephiroth is vengeful, sadistic, overly-confident, obsessive, and so on. Oh, and Kefka is funny.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur playing the role of god is pretty much a success even if it wasn't for eternity, sephiroth may have been scary for some people but i have seen more sick and twisted. like mithos from tales of symphonia who thinks his dead sister is actually alive and tries to kill off humanity by creating a super-sized planet of mana. or dhoulmagus from dragon quest, he kills off all the sacred sages that protect the planet.
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo I find it quite shallow that people evaluate a villain by his bodycount. By that logic Hannibal Lecter isn't much of a villain, but the aliens from Independence Day are great.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur the accomplishments of a villain are a great aspect. usually villains don't succeed in video games or general unlike kefka. although there are other villains that are sinister and evil like ex-death. but sephiroth is just a joke to me.
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo Temporary victories are the norm for villains. Vader, Hannibal Lecter, Independence Day aliens, Sephiroth, Arthas, Archimonde, Ganondorf, Morgoth, Griffith, Kira, the list goes ever on. All of them achieved great things and caused untold misery to the protagonist(s).
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur and yet you still don't appraise kefka for his greatness? he destroyed most of humanity and people have the balls to prefer a gothic black leather wearing trench coat with an over-sized sword he can't even carry? he must not be affected by gravity. anyone with with a working gag reflex realizes how dumb and retarded this guy is. might explain why god only gave him 1 wing...
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo I like Kefka. He's entertaining and he dies a proper death and stays dead. But his bodycount I couldn't care less about. Killing people by pushing a conveniently acquired ruin the world button isn't impressive or creative storytelling. You need to learn to be less fanatical and except different opinions, you are giving FF VI fans a bad name with your fanboy nonsense and VII-bashing.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur yeah i'm pretty damn sure cloud moping through the whole game isn't great story telling either. oh wait it is because everyone loves emo spiky haired anime characters with oversized compensating swords. it's common ritual. yeah i forgot that one. rpg rule #1 - every rpg needs to have 3d characters with 2d personalities and development. or villains that have as much character in them as a flaming bag of burning shit. you ff7 fanatical fanboys are all the same.
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo Your replies are descending in quality every time. Cloud has real issues and real problems, so does Terra, so does Squall, so does Cecil, so does every protagonist. If you want to call Cloud emo, then go ahead and call everyone emo who sometimes gets scared and confused like a normal human being. Your hypocrisy in calling me a fanboy is so disgusting that it is almost funny.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur and if you think ff6 fanbase is so "bad" then how about you take a look at ff7's fanbase? a bunch of whining fuckheads that disregard every game other than it's own and milked sequels. and personally i'm an ff4 fan. it's my favorite but i already know it's not the best. but it sure is damn better than ff7. same with a lot of other games. now i see why people say that the ff7 fanbase is so dim-witted. they think so highly of their game and don't try other games. i smell ignorance :P
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo I have nothing against the FF VI fanbase, I belong to that fanbase as do all my friends. I have even reviewed the game and explained why it is great. But unlike you I don't feel the need to attack other games for the sake of my ego. I have never met a fan of Final Fantasy VII or it's spin-offs who was anywhere near as arrogant, hypocritical and mean-spirited as you are and made up lies about entire groups of people to justify his own irrational jealousy and hatred.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur weren't you just going on about explaining and digressing ones opinions? what an unintelligent answer. but i guess i should have sympathy for how low the ff7 fuckheads like to strike back. and if you cared to use your brain listen, i am not not a big ff6 fan. rather an old school fan who actually sees the series deteriorating starting with ff7. but i guess if your so butthurt from aids received earlier i'll call just sum it down to an opinion. i don't like it.
McScreamo 7 months ago
@McScreamo Not liking a game is fine. But here's what you actually said:
"take a look at ff7's fanbase? a bunch of whining fuckheads that disregard every game other than it's own and milked sequels"
That is not an opinion expressed in an intelligent way. That's you flat out lying and making a bigger fool of yourself than you'll ever know.
"i guess if your so butthurt from aids"
Ladies and gentlemen, the highly intelligent old-school gamer has just made an AIDS joke. Wow.
ErnilEnNaur 7 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur again i have to explain that i clearly said that the "opinion" was said to point it out afterwards. you know the "i don't like it" part. yeah, that was it. i guess now aids, the infamous white blood cell killing virus can now affect peoples comprehension. there we go, another aids joke for you to inject. if you can't see that ff7 has a bad character set, repetitive gameplay, no difficulty and a villain with an oedipus complex then i have nothing else to say.
McScreamo 6 months ago
@McScreamo Have you read Oedipus? It's a pretty interesting tale actually, of course I would not expect someone like you to know what his talking about. You don't know anything other than your spite, as you have repeatedly demonstrated.
You should have stayed away, you've embarrassed FF VI fans enough and as one of them, I am not happy with you. Why don't you go and tell Norman Bates what a momma's boy he is an see how far that gets you.
Had enough already? :)
ErnilEnNaur 6 months ago
@McScreamo I don't get how Final Fantasy 7 fan base is a bunch of immature morons. It doesn't matter what your a fan of, your gonna find people like that all over the place. Final Fantasy series is no exception. They're always gonna be people freaking out about how their favorite is the bestest one ever. Tell me, how often do you hear "OMG FF7 is so overrated! Cloud is so emo! Hur Sephiroth has an oedipus complex!"?
I think you might be listening to those people a bit too much...
WolfSyn 6 months ago
@WolfSyn clearly not as much as them overpraising the game. there are more ff7 fanboys than even halo fanboys

@ErnilEnNaur and i don't see anyone on here except you being bias towards the ff7 fanboys.
McScreamo 6 months ago
@McScreamo I've not said one bad or good word about FF VII fanboys, you have. You're actually confusing me with you. Man, you're decent into madness is a swift one...
ErnilEnNaur 6 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur there's other people to throw a fit at you know. this all started when you made accusations of ff6 fans being straight up with dissing sephy. you're clearly being bias here. if you truly are a fan of both you would look into the suggestion videos and see a video called "top 10 reasons why sephiroth is better than kefka". and you said that ff6 fans are in you're face about this ordeal? yeah after watching that 0:41 second video i now question ff7 fanbase intelligence. it's that bad
McScreamo 6 months ago
@McScreamo Oh, welcome back to the world of coherent sentences. I said that FF VII fans aren't as confrontational as FF VI fans, which is true. On videos of FFVII, people don't verbally abuse FF VI, the opposite is not true. With the exception of my review, which seems to have attracted no fanboys, but only loyal fans like myself (thank heaven).
ErnilEnNaur 6 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur wow how egotistical are you? you're so full of shit! god how does anyone like you get any friends? fuck the games, this just became a personal war. and how is it that every time i post a comment your on my ass with another one in like 3 fucking minutes? are you ever off the computer by any chance?? seriously i even left you alone for like a week before you got another period and started raging me! and stop Google searching word definitions."coherent"? you're not fooling anyone here.
McScreamo 6 months ago
@McScreamo I get an e-mail notification if someone has replied to me. Youtube and Gmail are under the same company, you know. Also, I am not interested in a personal war, but since you claim things like "FFVII fans are idiots who have never played other games" as if it was an empirical fact, then I am going to call bullshit. As a bullshit artist, I am sure you're used to getting told the truth by intelligent people like me.
ErnilEnNaur 6 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur ff7 is a good game and all,but the fanboys do get a little crazy sometimes.
Look at egotasticripoff and average gamerx.
These people are the worse the fanbase has to offer as they seem to be very extreme on the ff7 loving side and worshipping it and hating on ff6 for making the statement on their game:it isn't flawless as you think.
Now some people go too far on the ff6 part,i admit this.
This being:People like anonymousxxxxxx insulting dragon warrior was an asshole move.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@piromaniac9999 Have you ever considered the possibly all these FF7 fan worshipers, only started insulting the other Final Fantasy's as a retaliation for all the hate FF7 gets?
For every Yin, there is a Yang. While FF7 has the biggest fanbase, it also has the most haters, angry at the games over popularity. It gets the most attention, positive and negative. I'm a FF7 fan, but I'm also a classic FF fan. And let me tell you, FF7 fanboys can not match the fanboys of every other FF combined.
WolfSyn 6 months ago
@WolfSyn That's a lie and you know it.
Hey i got over my nostalgia for ff4.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@piromaniac9999 actually i find ff4 to be my favorite with ff6 right behind. ff tactics would probably be my third fav. then maybe 9 and then 5. the nes ff games are the most underrated in the series. it's kind of sad because there not bad games. but not many people talk about them. at least for regular fans in the series. it's usually 7 and up. but really the ff series in general gets too much attention. i think the DQ/DW series is much better (as a whole) than the FF series as a whole
McScreamo 6 months ago
@McScreamo FF4 has a special place for me.
As for dragon warrior:Some of my fondest memories of the dragon quest series is:dragon quest/warrior 1 and dragon quest 8.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@WolfSyn Do you honestly think people hate the game just because? there is a lot of hate due to the way people treat the game itself as the holy grail or something or second coming of jesus.
Neither ff6 nor ff7 deserve this special treatment, there are other games in the series that are excellent.
FF5 has great gameplay
ff8 has some interesting ideas a card game that had some good ideas but turned wrong due to making the gamers depend too much on it to get their spells.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@ErnilEnNaur That being said,i think the game's biggest fanbase problem is the people who overrate it to hell and back by over praising it like they would by devoting a shrine to it and worshipping it.
I noticed some creepy ff6 fans lately and i find that very creepy thing.
I play games because they are fun not to worship a game.
If i think its good and i like it,i will play it regardless of what others think
No game should have people bow down and worship its greatness, because its a game.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@piromaniac9999 You may be surprised, but I find FF7 is a bit overrated. I love that game, its one of my favorites, but i can think of plenty of rpgs that deserve just as much praise.
I'd also like to point out, people generally view rpgs as more than just a "game". They view it as a story, that holds many experiences for them they can not forget. People become emotionally involved. There's a reason why every time I'm have beat a good rpg I get sad during the credits. I don't want it to end.
WolfSyn 6 months ago
@WolfSyn A bit is overrating it,more like:A fucking truckload of overrated is ff7.
ff6 is overrated too a bit.
And i know what you mean,i felt that way when chrono trigger ended and illusion of gaia and ff6.
But even then,i still know that its still just a game and like a good book, you take it up once in a while to read it and enjoy it but you don't dedicate your whole life to that one product,be it:a game movie or book.
That is just willfull ignorance and arrogance.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@WolfSyn just because i love ff6 and illusion of gaia, doesn't mean that i should only play those games and cut myself off from everything else.
Heck i played hack and ff tactics and ultima and might and magic and all sorts of other games.
Some of these fans are like religious nuts in cults:They give something that might not be theirs to give:the title of best thing ever.
This is arrogance since they claim to have knowledge none else has that they are somehow smarter and more wiser.
piromaniac9999 6 months ago
@WolfSyn I hear that kotor has won a lot of awards and is supposedly a great game.
