i cant play by ear very well but by watching your video i have learned the finger movements which is good because i've wanted to play this piece for so long lol and you are pretty close to sounding like itzhak perlman
I don't think there is a sheet music for violin. I played this by ear, so I don't have the sheet music either. Try play by ear and see if you can figure it out. Do it little section by little section. It is much more fun that way. Good luck!
Yes, but most instruments are versatile. It just depends on the musician playing them. I haven't even begin to grasp the basics of violin. I wish I could do more!
I'm liking the Tubbie0075 style! Great job going for those hard-to-hit shifts! You've done a fine job on this video -- keep up the great work, my friend!
Yes, I feel that it is important to have your own interpretation of muisc, rather than copying someone (even if it's a great someone).
I wish I can improve my vibrato, especially on some of the high notes, and 4th finger vibratos. Who knows, maybe in my 100th video, I may play much better than now ;-)
Haha naw. I just think it doesn't always have to match the exact tempo of the original or anything to be good. Makes it unique too. Plus I have so many of my own shortcomings haha. Like holding down sustain until it sounds like rolling thunder =/ I need to replace that vid lol
Don't replace the video. Take note and improve in your next video. Review your videos constantly to remind yourself not to repeat those mistakes again.
Gosh, you should look at my early videos. Absolutely horrible, most of them like a robot and full of errors! But it also shows my journey from my first video to my latest, how much I've improve. It's like a self music journal :-)
Yeah I'll probably leave it. And I am trying to get my next one out but river flows in you is tough for a newb like me! Lol. Hopefully I can post it soon.

at the end it would've sounded better if you used the fourth finger for the dynamic. all together though very nice job. you can play very well. ;)

"Tubbie0075 style (the occassionally-out of-tune, messy-string-crossings, sometimes-out-of-rhythm, vibratos-that-comes-and-go style)" Was cute.
And I loved this. And I loved that you played by ear. Violins are so versitile, arent they?

Thanks. If only I'd watched your video first before recording mine, if would have discovered to:
- replace 4th with 3rd finger on important notes for better vibrato
- shift to 3rd position to avoid messy string crossing near the end
- use different contact points and bow pressures to bring out different tones and enhance dynamics
On the other hand, if I did, I would have recorded a Copy-of-Ben-Chan version. But I'll take note for my next video :-)

i also feel that my 4th finger vibrato is always off but practice makes perfect.
keep at it and ignore some of the comments people put on the page some people just like to hate on others.
well done and keep it up
