I dont know, the nurse said it was normal....and my wife is a nurse too, (the mommy) and she said it was fine, the cord fell off in a few days and it was fine, no infection
she is not in pain....she has never had a bath before, it was new to her......and it was a nurse giving her the bath, not her parents. we had to trust she knew what she was doing.

I thought you are soppose to wait til the cord falls before you put them in a tub

just cuz a baby cries, it doesn't mean she's in pain. babies cry for a million reasons.
