i've noticed you use a lot of working hairsprays in your styles. if you haven't yet, try "Work It" hairspray from Catwalk (TIGI-Bedhead). i use it at the salon to give hair a dirtier, dryer texture for updos, and it's really good to use when molding shapes. it's very forgiving, doesn't flake, and has good buildability. my favorite finishing spray is "Masterpiece" by Bed Head. it has a great hold, and a high shine.

Try some product in you wet hair to create texture when it dries. Like Mousse. Then use hairspray at the roots too (aerosole0 spray cans)
