Man I wish we could have turrets that have a 35mm or 40mm cannon but I'm afraid they'll have to be really big or they'll have low magazine storage, the CV-9040 has a 40mm cannon but a 24 round magazine. The 25mm Cannon can be replaced without worry by a 30mmx173mm cannon
Wait I didn't know if it was ok or not, lol. Well this variant is 6 wheels so adding another one might not do justice, but and 8th mabe even a 9th I can see the possiblity of have a 40mm cannon with proper magazine stowage. I looked the internal of a C-130 with a "Vanilla" as you say M113, having applique armour is not a possiblity in a C-130 but what is possible is have the armour coming in kits and having other C-130's carry the kits which can be bolted on or as I wish "snapped on" in field

The M113 Gavin Family of Airborne Armored Assault Vehicles is the weapon of choice for the modern armies of the entire Free World, as demonstrated by this film's images of our allies.
There is no doubt in my mind that it is also the weapon platform of the future.
The Gavin Family of Armoured Airborne Assault Vehicles is, to my judgment, the most versatile in the world. The M113 is a track that has never let us down and about which we have developed a great deal of collective faith & esprit de corps.
The M113 Gavin is The Platform of choice for the whole Free World, as this film demonstrates with images of our allies applications and expansions on one of our greatest contributions to world peace. It is also the vehicle of the future.
@dynmicpara but how would narrowing top would deflect the landmine blast...by the way, NUROL, turkish company made a 6X6 MRAP APC that kinda resembles the stryker..i know how much u hate the wheeled armor, but it weights almost 18 tons- its fast, and well protected. although i've seen one getting bogged in mud, the driver didnt lower the presure and stomped on gas while negotiating an obsticle. check it oout, the chasis i belive can be modified to become tracked.
Hell March and the AIFV... a winning combination!

Stretch the Gavin hull to 6 or 7 roadwheels and you'll have even more ammo storage room.

Depending on the applique' armor; a Gavin will still RO/RO from inside a C-130. Weight is not a problem. It was designed to fly by C-130.

Dynmicpara, why would you want sloped sides on the rear of the vehicle? Thats where the troops sit, thus giving them less head room.
ihateforigners 2 years ago
To deflect land mine blasts. It can be done without harming troop seating.

Hmm, how's that?

Nice survey. Army should have got some of these too instead of just wildly expensive bradleys, Strykers and very basic APC M113s.
