Let's be honest: Impossible Princess is the only K. Minogue's album a demanding listener would not be ashamed to buy. Unfortunately it proves that Minogue is not a brave artist or self-confident enough. It took reviewers and current funs by surprise...and it sunk. So she became the bimbo everyone(?) wanted. She should insist and fight for a new fun base...and more respect. Pity!

"Wow" didn't even chart here. The U.S. has a mass of people. Artists know they have made it big, if they can tap into the U.S. market.

I don't think "Wow" moves Kylie's sound forward. Instead, it sends her back to the 1970's.
Yeah, I know, but that still doesn't keep it from charting. In fact, "Wow" has now (shockingly)charted on the U.S. Charts. When I looked at last week's charts, it wasn't there. It's #25 on dance airplay.
In a way though, "Wow" was released here in the U.S., because Perez Hilton had the exclusive video debut,(as unfortunate as it was). He was pictured with Kylie and everything. Don't get wrong, I'm a MAJOR Kylie fan. She gave me "Chocolate"...one of my all-time favorites! :) I just thought "Wow" was a throw-back to the camp of the 1970's, and I just thought she could do so much better.

I think Impossible Princess was a flop for the turnings on pop music at that time on the same way that happened at the end of the 80's. Electronic music in pop world was being a new stuff and IP was just sounding strange and out of time until Madonna presents the world with Ray Of Light. If IP had been released at 2003 or 2005 I'm sure it would be her most successful album to date. People are reconizing that so bad now that they are buying late Impossible Princess.
You got a point there although around thew mid to late 90s the Britpop scene and the CLUB scene was huge-Impossible Princess resonated in a particularly Alternative flavour. It suffered in terms of sales as it was put of release untill 1998-a year where MANUFACTURED POP was bursting on to the fore after a brief spell of wilderness!

In a way though, "Wow" was released here in the U.S., because Perez Hilton had the exclusive video debut,(as unfortunate as it was). He was pictured with Kylie and everything. Don't get wrong, I'm a MAJOR Kylie fan. She gave me "Chocolate"...one of my all-time favorites! :) I just thought "Wow" was a throw-back to the camp of the 1970's, and I just thought she could do so much better.

It would be a good spin off of Fantastic Voyage where there is a mission to cure Kylie's cancer from the inside. Get to see what it looks like inside her and surgically remove the cancer with an organic laser gun.

Umm I don't have the vid clip, but I got the slow version from the WINMX. Couldn't find the fast version. I'm sure there's heaps of copies of the slow version on the MX!

I think Impossible Princess was a flop for the turnings on pop music at that time on the same way that happened at the end of the 80's. Electronic music in pop world was being a new stuff and IP was just sounding strange and out of time until Madonna presents the world with Ray Of Light. If IP had been released at 2003 or 2005 I'm sure it would be her most successful album to date. People are reconizing that so bad now that they are buying late Impossible Princess.

Quite true. Impossible Princess is regarded as a fan favourite and it is only now that is being fully appreciated.

You got a point there although around thew mid to late 90s the Britpop scene and the CLUB scene was huge-Impossible Princess resonated in a particularly Alternative flavour. It suffered in terms of sales as it was put of release untill 1998-a year where MANUFACTURED POP was bursting on to the fore after a brief spell of wilderness!
