Sorry, I am a huge KISS fan.. this is the first time I have heard this and I have to say... all this "KISS did it so much better" is kinda silly. Other than Paul singing it (Which he sounds awkward singing on the KISS version), this is the exact same song... you can hardly, with ANY resemblence of repect say "This sucks."

@CaptainShinyJunk if it was so bad, i don't think paul stanley would have asked to record it while over tony's house one day in 1981. the kiss version would not even exsist if it wasnt for this. and FYI, "the guy you wanna punch in the face" plays piano on the kiss version.

Second, if that's you in the video, you look like a Bryan Ferry wannabe. Third, this recording is terrible. I HAVE the right to have an opinion on the song. The lyrics? They're great, I love them. I don't like your voice and I don't like the recording. Sorry if that hurts your precious little feeling but calling me names won't get you anywhere with me.

it's from tony's long out of print ep "dont nobody move (this is a heist)". naturaly this one is better, as its the original. though tony does play piano on kiss' remake.

Great song, lyrics. Glad Tony only played piano on the Kiss version, though. This Tony version sounds like some demo made on home equipment. The Kiss crew gave it life, especially the drummer and the one of a kind guitar solo - by none other than Ace, I assume ;-)

Ace only played two song off The Elder "Dark Light" & "Escape From The Island". I dont know who played the guitar on KISS version but its an awesome solo

actually that is not correct, Dark light was Ace's penned song and escape from the island is just Ace and Eric Carr. Ace played on every song but Paul was the lead guitarist on the others songs not including Dark Light or Escape From The Island

I have not heard any facts that Tony plays on Kiss version, Bob Ezrin plays keyboards on The Elder.

I have checked, there is nothing about his playing on that album, of course I know he has done this song. But if he is your friend then you know better than me and Kiss websites and the history books. Thanks for the info.

@kcartesius The drummers name was Allan Schwartzberg, who also recorded "I".

@kcartesius - the drums on Kiss' version were played by Allan Schwartzberg, not Eric Carr (Allan also played on "I" from the Elder as well as drums on both Gene and Peter's solo records. The guitar solo on the song is played by Paul, not Ace.
