I wonder how Emerson, Lake, & Palmer would do a version of that song in an "MTV Unplugged" format. When Keith Emerson plays the piano part at the end, it should end with a tape speed.
Very impressive! I think Keith would like this. The interpretations of the synth parts are terrific as is the sample and hold sequence at the very end. Great imagination and execution. Have you considered transcribing to sheet music and publishing your arrangement? Of course Keith would get his fair share of the royalties. Advanced piano students would enjoy learning this.
I love what you did with the organ solo section and you did some really cool problem solving with the sustained synth sections. Like that part that has the "dizzying" chromatic minor thirds passages. Man, that was cool. Thanks for posting this one.
Very well done, thank you! I'd love to hear an all piano version of Tarkus. I remember seeing some old footage of Keith Emerson playing Tarkus on a grand piano, but it was a short excerpt.
This was beautiful ... I am happy that someone took the time to learn this classic ELP track on piano - I can only hope one day to learn this, or any of Karn Evil 9 myself
I recommend Triumvirat also...they have almost the same line...try 'mediterranean tales' & 'illusions on a double dimple' from triumvirat...some people call Triumvirat as German ELP...try it!
i have never heard any of this stuff before, but my dad likes it and wants a cd called welcome back my friends to the show that never ends, or something like that, i think he used to have a recordind from 1973, maybe, do you know where i can get it? or if it`s on youtube? thanks.
The original CD is "Brain Salad Surgery," but the live album is "Welcome Back My Friends." You probably can get it at a lot of record stores. I don't know, I've never taken a look.

BOY! The piano really brings out the beauty of that piece of music. The tremendous skill doesn't hurt either.

A huge and admirable achievement - equally impressive technically - and in terms of translation to the solo piano. Genius level.

Loved the ending. Would like to hear it on a decent piano though - not as a challenge, just to get a better sound. I can lend you a decent mike.

Can someone recommend an Emerson album that features compositions which sound like this one? Classical/Jazz compositions would be perfect
