yup...JUNK.
Even if I was given this title for nothing I would take it and throw it in the trash. I bought it for my girlfriend and it turned out to be a complete waste of money. The controls don't react to movement as indicated by the virtual Jillian. In some cases they just don't work at all. Additionally the overall production quality of this title is way below average. It you must try it I advise you rent it first.

I don't understand all the negative reviews.
I rented this game and then purchased it.
It works absolutely fine for me..I think they could've put in better instructions, but once you get used to the movements, it works fine. The only one I have issues with is the grenade exercise..maybe your girlfriend chose an intensity that was too high. Medium and above makes you REALLY put in the work in order for the avatar to move at all.

Just 2 I think for this Julian game. I have played a lot of games in my day and this one was made to grab some dollars on the Wii craze IMO. Just didn't want to see anyone get suckered out of 50 bucks. Most stores don't take back opened games. Rent it first.

Dont buy this its shit!! Half the stuff dont work and the controls are way off and its really hard to do anything...what junk! Just stick with Wii fit that works!

Wii fit is overrated and overpriced, sorry.
This game has some small flaws, but it's what, $40?? And it works absolutely fine, at least for me. You cannot expect perfection...my sister played multiplayer mode with me once, and that was the first time she ever played the game. She had no trouble with any of the exercises..they all responded perfectly fine.
I've seen and read extensive reviews on the Wii Fit, and I still conclude that it's a waste of money.
