As I'm watching this (from flint), and totally digging it, It hit me... That's Nick Calandro! I opened up for Sherm Mitchell this summer and Nick was playing... he kills!
Superb arrangement and great sound of a popular 70s hit. Great guitar and bass. Drums are strong, but hard to record all three instruments evenly. Love it.
Holy crapola! Sweet 'rangement fellas. All three of you guys pull some serious weight and the trio keeps your sound uncluttered while not being too thin. You can HEAR the fun your having, and the guitar solo after the head's been established is awesome!!!
So, if there are so many ways, why can't I? Why do I still last night kept on dreaming of her? So many months gone by, so little time spent together and yet, I still dream of her... Paul Simmon enlighten me!!!
Thanks! I think all pop music if fair game for jazz - just as all those Gershwin and Cole Porter songs are, as they were the pop songs of their day. True, the line between jazz and the pop music of the 40's was thinner because often the beat, instrumentation, and many of the people involved were shared. So, that makes it a challenge for me and others to take more current songs that don't swing or that are performed on electronic instruments or whatever, and make them jazz. Just my opinion...
Excellent theme -harmonization and improvisation branching out and adding much harmonic interest with great jazz voicings, really great work and a very musical fine trio, greetings Vic.
i'm stunned. you're playing at an unbelievable level and, more important, it's the musical proposal that's interesting. pure, fresh air. keep pushing, you deserve a wider audience.
Wow-I stumbled on you looking for a Hendrix Wind Cries Mary lesson for myself(cover band guitar player). You're awesome. I will be telling my other musician friends about you! There is a friend of mine here in Fresno, CA-Tony Craig. He's the only guy I know in your league. I don't think he has any Utube videos
HEY JAKE, I finally get it! Lock me up in a room for about 20yrs. and maybe, just maybe I'll be as good as U! Unreal performance; my God.... Great stuff by U and the boys!..................KEEPON STRUMMIN........DALLAS

Thank's for your improvisation. An accessit for your bassist (harmonics on a contrebass, it's not usual).
