  • those old people belong on the streets begging for money for medicine!

ask your neighbor for help...r u kidding me!

  • Insurance costs too much because seeing the doctor costs too much. And it starts when 65% of our medical system is run by the government. In case you missed the debt ceiling debate, neither side is working for the people anymore. Coburn is one of the few though that is trying to work on the problems without protecting anyone in particular. If you don't believe that read his Back in Black proposal. He at least put forth an idea which is better then any of the leaders.

  • Neighbors? As in fellow citizens? Fellow citizens helping one another and giving handouts. Hmmmm....if only there were away to get a whole society of neighbors to pool up money so as to make sure we're all covered....hmmmm...hmmm... Maybe we could call it a public option...gee that would be great.

Seriously are republicans so dense that they don't even see how they just explained social care as a good thing to themselves?

  • Setting up a proper health care system, is SO easy, and SO much cheaper than the american system. The problem is; 1: That a lot of morons in the US don't know what they're missing, and 2: corrupt politicians having their own good healthcare, letting private insurance companies rob people.

people knowingly fighting to keep this horrible state of affairs, don't deserve to be alive imho. They're an active part of the many lives that's lost every year because of this horrible system.

  • A thousand pinheads of light.

  • Is it me or did Keith not listen to anything said. Coburn said his office would help not because it is their job but because it's the right thing to do. He said it was not the governments job to take care of this lady, but the responsibility of the community. Keith wants to know where the money is going to come from. Why does it have to be about money. Why can't people just show up and help the woman out? We assume that it is always someone else's job.

  • @jlieberman226 LOL you make cero fucking sense, "the goverment shoul/d help but the community should a derp" how about FUCKING TAXES PAY FOR IT my taxes, your taxes, THE COMMUNITY'S TAXES, its the right thing to do. repugnicunts in the senate and congress are disgusting swines protecting corporations, not the american people. they should be burn in public.

  • @darkiz7 Thank you for making my point. You just absolved yourself from any responsibility to helping this woman by saying you pay taxes. So you are putting your faith in a dysfunctional government to help this woman. What I am saying and Senator Coburn is saying it is OUR job as neighbors to help this woman. The government is not a person with compassion it is bureaucracy with laws. And as for Republicans protecting business, the Dems protect corporate unions. What's the difference?

  • I think Keith and/or MSNBC should pay for her healt care problems. Step up to the plate you liberal cocksuckers and pay up ! Let's see your wallets bleed as fast as your hearts.

  • More left bullshit. Help everybody at all cost. Yeah right. Like that's going to happen or even should happen. We die and suffer you assholes. It's life. Get used to it and plan for it!

  • @rrhynes Hey genius. I suspect we could pay for round the clock nursing care for everyone who needed it if we slashed the defense budget by about a quarter, and we'd still have enough to bomb all of the brown people republicans don't like.

  • @Pacifus You know, I agree with you on that statement..........the bombing of brown people that is. lol Seriously, I don't disagree with you about the fact we could reduce many levels of spending and put that money to better use. However, people like yoursel don't help matters because there's never a point at which you would be happy. You want to corrupt the constitution in a different way. We'll never solve this problem. Get used to the suffering.

  • @rrhynes All the other industrialized countries in the world have figured it out. health care should be a public service, like police and fire. it makes no sense for it to be for profit because insuring the sick, the old and the poor will never be profitable. the US is the only industrialized country so beholden to big corporations that they stick to a system that is collapsing.

  • @tishhead I agree with you on some levels. If the Dems really wanted to end this nightmare, they would start with tort law reform. They refuse to do it. You can't expect affordable health care when doctors pay $100k to 500k in insurance premiums every year. The lawsuits must be reduced and there has to be penalties to individuals and lawyers that scam the system. The Dems won't do it and so of the GOP won't either. As well, the cost of obtaining a medical degree is exhorbitant.

  • @rrhynes i'm afraid tort reform is a red herring advanced by people who want to demonize lawyers instead of insurance companies. i have no doubt that malpractice is overpriced but that's mostly due to -- ta da -- other insurance companies. states that have passed aggressive tort reform have seen extremely minimal effect on premiums. meanwhile, more people die from doctor error than most diseases. you lose your kid to dr error and you want your right to sue inhibited?

  • @tishhead So just don't do anything right? Pay a million dollars for a broken arm. Red herring or not, it's a factor. Unfortunately, we've already allowed it to fuck up the system. You can't unring a bell, as they say. There's no doubt the insurance companies exacerbate the situation by settling instead of fighting, but it costs more to defend oneself in this system than it does to accuse. Doctor error is a fact of life and you can't change it. Most of us aren't worth millions of dollars.

  • @rrhynes Doctor error is a fact of life? So, in your words, just don't do anything? That's not sad or pathetic. It's just bizarre.

  • @tishhead So you set a price on your kids huh? Hmm. Same old bullshit argument. Rape the system , buy some really cool shit and pretend your loss is unsurmountable. Laughable, pathetic, liberal.

  • @tishhead Lawyers don't need any help in being demonized. A large portion of our illustrious lawmakers are lawyers as are our judges. Who re you fooling, besides yourself. Lawyers are the problem. They write and enforce the laws and then get paid to defend you. Ever heard of contingency? Yes, we need tort reform, along with othe reforms.

  • @rrhynes I'd take 1,000 lawyers or over 1 insurance exec. they take in 20 million in compensation while they cry poverty and deny coverage to desperate people. contingency happens to be the only way average people can take on corporations. of course, you apparently don't want people to be able to take on corporations. faulty product leave you paralyzed? suck it up and stop whining. beautiful.

  • @tishhead Well you've already got your wish ............and things are still fucked up! It's the punitive aspect of litigation that is killing us. You can't punish a corporation. They just pass on the cost! Get it? And, thanks to litigation, another company won't want to get into the mix. Litigation is corrosive and it's becuase of lawyers and our fucked up system that has made everyone live in fear.

  • @tishhead Faulty products? LIke hot coffee, motorcycles, parachutes, speed boats, bicycles, spray paint, ad infinitum. YOu're full of shit. There are no guarantees in life.

  • @rrhynes so in your view, corporations should get a blank check, be absolved of every last bit of malfeasance even if leads to death. thank goodness for those lawyers. and thank goodness your horribly bleak view of the world is a fringe view. hope your corporate worship keeps you warm at night.

  • @tishhead So you think punitive damages are only awarded to small people battling large corporations? You must live in a vacum. Nobody is arguing about compensatory damages, it's the punitive damages that are the big problem.

  • @rrhynes it's the punitive damages that force corporations into changing their behavior. otherwise, they just figure the cost of a few dozen dead bodies as a business expense rather than fix their product or behavior.

  • @tishhead Then you being so concerned about the well being of the consumer wouldn't object to that huge settlement being mandated to go to UL Labs and not an individual's checking account. Every lawsuit doesn't make us safer, it just takes away more of our freedom of choice.

  • @rrhynes if it takes away a car company's "choice" to have faulty gas tanks or a hospital's "choice" to have an incompetent surgeon then, yes, i'm all for taking away the "freedom of choice."

  • @tishhead Unfortunately, those particular lawsuits are few and far between. It's very very rare to see a legitimate lawsuit that is principled. Most of them are just looking for exhorbitnat sums of money......for the lawyers first..and plaintiff second. You don't honestly believe that most lawsuits are necessary or productive do you?

  • @rrhynes i have no idea what the merits of tens of thousands of lawsuits are. what i do know is that i want to have the right to go after individuals or companies that do damage either by negligence or worse. since corporations are, by and large, amoral (many are also immoral), the only thing that will adjust their behavior is getting hit in the wallet.

  • @tishhead I'm glad you admit to not knowing the merits of all these lawsuits. It's the first step in coming to the realization they're more about greed and vindictiveness than indemnity. People are amoral, corporations cannot be amoral. That's like saying guns are evil. You're fighting a battle that has never been won and never will be. All people like you have managed to do is line a few pockets here and there and reduce our freedom of self-choice.

  • @Pacifus Nice. But wasn't it the Democrats who tried to block the Civil Liberties Act back in the 60's. Oops. Stop with the racist hate speech. Republicans are not evil any more than the Democrats. Both parties are self serving.

  • @jlieberman226 Really, I think that was the republicans. Oops.

  • @jlieberman226 No, actually it wasn't. The CLA was mainly blocked by southerners. And percentage wise, more Democrats voted for it than Republicans.

  • @rrhynes and when it's your mother or daughter who gets the diagnosis, you just sit them down and say, "darling, i'm afraid we all suffer and die. tough break, asshole."

  • @tishhead And that's exactly what most of society has been doing since time began. Reality 101 . You're going to die. It isn't the duty of mankind to make sure you live as long as medically possible. You can eitehr afford it or you can't. Nothing politicians do will change that fact.

  • @rrhynes so i guess it's not the duty of policemen to prevent murder. your view of the world is amazingly dark. i'm quite thankful that neither i nor anyone i know shares it.

  • @tishhead News flash: Police respond to hundred times more murders than they prevent. My view of the world is pragmatic and realistic. I didn't create the world, but I certainly have to live in it. Take off your glasses sometime, the truth and reality are only as awful you want to make them. It's refreshing to know what you're about ... in lieu of lving in Wonka Land.

  • Yea everyone take it down a notch. Just relax. Don't worry about it.

  • Olbermann, you twist things so badly, and it's so obvious. Only a moron would watch your show, let alone agree with you.

  • It's the RIGHT response.

  • @bluefin12 Have you helped your neighbors out today? And remember, praying don't count.

  • I diagnose Olbermann as a socialist marxist moron.

  • did the woman ask her family for help? no

she asks the government for help without asking her own family members.

  • @hyylo The neighbors were there jeering her for asking for help. You assholes think that you can just pray problems away. And you don't give a shit about the needy until it's you.

  • @Pacifus

    Hi

you should search youtube for the video called:

Money Banking and the Federal Reserve.

it will explain why America is in trouble and what is the source of the economic mess.

  • that woman should have saved all the money they paid to their former health care, and use it for their current emergency ... other thing, wasn t the goverment created for distributing healthcare and other services more efficiently? are they cutting budget to save private corporations wich later give them the favors in return?

  • just have a bake sale, lady. and if you can sell 1.2 mllion cakes, you can pay for the cancer treatment. stop whinin' and start bakin'.

i'm so glad that his christian faith has blessed him with such compassion.

  • @tishhead What happened to compassionate conservatives? Yeah right.

  • @Pacifus that's a brand name, like conservative lite. actually, the conservatives do have compassion -- for GE and Exxon and WellPoint.

  • You Coburn, asshole, people can't even help themselves, and you want them to help their fuckin neighbors. THAT'S WHERE THE GOVERNMENT COMES IN!!!!!

  • Hey lady put out a tin cup and see if your neighbor's will fill it up..... republican health care plan....

  • This f!@#$r also threw the unemployed to the wolves the other day. GOP has got to go. Trillions on WAR, Bankers, and BIG Business. No money left to help Americans. I guess his Hippocratic Oath as a Doctor in null and void now that he's a Senator. Now it's a Hypocritical Oath for your SOL American people, we don't care.

  • @the60sKid

Yes GOP has to go.... I agree

  • Isn't Dr. Colburn one of the 25 Doctors who invested 52 million in the new rual hospital in muskogee. . I saw Dr. Colburn state how he felt about drug company's setting their prices together was wrong. That doesn't look good to me since he has not said anything since. Then I learn he own stock personally in drug company's now ( Muskogee phoenix news paper). Now he is fighting health care reform

  • @checotahbill Dr Coburn is actually Governor Sanford's gynecologist and spiritual guru.

  • GOOD ONE

  • Coburn is an insurance whore.

  • What a nazi war criminal, No wonder I spend my time being disgusted about Oklacoma and it's stupid fucking rich rednecks.

  • Republican idea of healthcare: Take up a collection from your neighbors when you get really, really sick!

Too bad all your neighbors are already unemployed and have nothing to give!

    Coburn is an asshole

  • @jefmered And I guess I can thank Obama for "stimulating" the economy that has my neighbors out of work. Obama is an arrogant pedant.

  • @3684541

OH YEAH the ressession is all Obama's fault right ?? LOL... wasn't it president Bush who passed the first stimulus because the Titanic was sinking right in front of his eyes.... LOL.. get your facts straight...

  • @3684541 The economy was already in the toilet when Obama arrived. Things would be that much worse without the stimulus, which added as many as 2.1 million jobs in the 4th quarter alone. The Republican alternative? A less stimulative mix of tax cuts, mainly benefiting rich people and corporations. Look at the multiplier effect data from CBO and you'll see that Republican ideas are pure failure. All of the best ideas in the stimulus were pushed by progressives.

  • @3684541 The economy, if you didn't notice, was already in the toilet when Obama took office. Things would be that much worse without the stimulus. The stimulus added up to 2.1 million jobs in the 4th quarter alone. The Republican alternative was a mix of less effective tax cuts (for rich people and corporations). The CBO multiplier effect data shows that Republican ideas represent pure failure.

  • One question for Coburn...will you drop your government-operated healthcare (which is widely regarded as one of the best in the world) benefits and depend on your neighbors?

  • congressional health care is privatized...durrrrr

  • what a horrible response to that crying lady. What an ass. People like that have no business making decisions.

  • Tom Coburn is an a hole.

  • Way to stick with the substance. It figures.

  • BAD DAY OR ARE YOU ALWAY LIKE THIS

  • that man is an embarrassment to me and my fellow oklahoma democrats, independents and open minded republicans.

on a lighter note, when chris hayes starts talking, close your eyes and imagine steve carrell talking

  • Yahh right !!

YOUR Neighbor can help YOU with your Medical traumatic Brain Injury needs,

GET REAL ! Senator, Doctor Tom Coburn diagnosed with "Cardiac Deficiency (Heartless)"

  • Makes a change to see someone who isn't a deluded right wing gun nut at one of these town halls.

  • I cant believe this kind of thing happens to senior citizens in the most prosperous nation on Earth. We need universal healthcare now!
