So what is this new covenant? It's the covenant in the blood of Christ. When we sign the contract, we agree in the terms and conditions to (1) believe in the name of God's Son Jesus Christ and (2) love one another as Christ loved. What law we are bound by? The Law of Life {Spirit}. As long as we keep these terms and conditions, we are granted by the Law of Life eternal life. And this is the truth of the Gospel.
Therefore, the contract we were agreed to and we were bound the law were cancelled. So if Christ fulfilled the covenant {contract} and established with us a new covenant, we live by a new law and agree to the terms and conditions bound by this new law. We are released from the old covenant bound by the old law, and serve God in the new way of the Spirit.
If there is no law, there is no law violation—there is no sin committed. The law says that God is holy; well, we are not holy. The law is contrary to us. The law, including the Ten Commandments, says we cannot do this and do that. The law was against us and stood opposed to our sinful nature. Our sins, our debts, to be paid are too much. Thus, Christ paid them all at the cross, fulfilling the demands {works} of the law.
However, God made us alive with Christ. How? (1) By the forgiveness of our sins. For forgiveness to be possible, God canceled the written code, including its regulations. (2) By fulfilling the requirements of the written code at the cross.
The question we need to address is. What written code was against us? The Scripture says that the transgressions of the law is sin. The wages of sin is death.
Let me show how the Ten Commandments are no more.
Col. 2:13-14 says, “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.”
According to verse 13, we were dead in (1) our sins and (2) our uncircumcision of our sinful nature (old nature).
God`s law and commandments is good and just. However, it is impossible to gain salvation from the Law. We need a new spirit(the holy spirit). This we gain through belief and baptizim in his Son, The Christ. From then on, We can truly worship him and keep his commandments in pure love and faith.

Attempts at Sabbath-keeping is a retrogressive act. Whilst as new covenant Christians we can set aside any day sabbath-keeping gives the wrong message. In any case nobody can possibly "keep" the Sabbath according to how God ordained it when He first introduced it under the Law of Moses. Saturday is the Sabath , Sunday is refered to as the First Day of the week or the day after the Sabath all 8 times it is mentioned in the New Testament. I know Jesus rose on a Sunday. All raw meat can cause you to get sick, not just from pigs, but beef and other red meats like that too. It is red meats that doctors often request people to stop eating if their health is bad. The separation of meat in the bible had nothing to do with whether it was unhealthy or bad for you, it was given as a means to remind the people of Israel that they were separate from the gentile nations.

Yeah, Jesus worked on the Sabbath! I do too. Jesus broke the Sabbath command and so I am. Still the scripture says Jesus never sin. So I never break the sabbath command when I work. This sabbath day can be debatable....remember everything in the bible is about interpretation. The bible says you must work six days and keep the sabbath holy. Keep the seventh day holy. I don't know about you but my first day of work is monday. so, i can say, that i should work for six days and keep the seventh day holy. i can work from monday through saturday and keep sunday holy. the bible says YOU MUST WORK SIX DAYS. so if my work day starts on a monday i should keep sunday holy.

I have heard that the days of the week come from Roman beliefs as does the 2 major holidays celebrated yearly xmas & easter. Remember there was no days of the weeks aka monday, just numbered days of the week.

Jesus perfected the Sabbath. He put an end to all the requirements of sanctification that required an "entering into to" and repeating. Whatever repeats is a shadow. Christ's church simply asks that we accept him as Lord and "be not carnally minded" The Sabbath is no longer a binding law, but a principle based upon 6 day work, not a man made calendar.
Matthew 24 Jesus is speaking "himself" about the End of all ages or End times... Matthew 24:20 reads: "And pray your flight is not in the winter or on the SABBATH." This is biblical FACT that Jesus Himself is prophesying about the END TIMES which includes today 2/12/11 and beyond... Which makes the Sabbath (Saturday, the 7th day) still in effect...
I went to the COGWMS for 7 months. Long story short after being loyal and attending daily, doing things like prostelitizing for many hours. I was kicked out of church by the Pastor. He never gave me any reason as to why I should not go to the church. I came to find out through extensive research that it was a cult. There are many churches in Korea that claim that they have the second coming Christ. Poor lost souls.

5) Here is my main concern with your comment. The NT was not canonized into a single book until the 5th century. If the word "scripture" in the NT ONLY meant the OT, then none of the NT can claim inspiration II Tim 3.16.
Did the NT only become true in the 5th century. Christ's words were truth the moment he uttered them, and still are today.

@mark0454 I am not denying Yahushua or His teachings. He taught the Law and Kept it. He kept the Sabbath and the feasts also. He always says "not my will but yours (Yahweh's) be done. Every Sabbath day the Torah was read in the synagogue. (Acts 13:15) There were not copies of the bible like there are today. It was very difficult to get the ink, lambs skin and whatever else they needed to write with. Paul didn't have the Gospels to read from.

That means that the law and the prophets are teaching you how to love Yahweh with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. But the whole book of Colossians, many passages in Romans, most of Galatian and Hebrews unequivically state that the Law is taken away, waxed old, dead, the bondwoman, ministration of death.
Replaced by much more rigerous commandments in those same passages.
Read one short chapter, Col 3. Does the law compare to this?

Is the 10 commandments still stand today? According to this verse yes it is, and if you don't follow all of them you are sinning for sin is the transgression of the law and the wages of sin is death.
Did you notice that James says the "whole" law? That if you offend in just one point you are guilty of all? The most interesting thing to note is that Paul says pretty much the exact same thing in his own writings:
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Notice he says that one is cursed if they do not keep ALL.....
things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Meaning if a person even failed to keep just one point, they were cursed. Why? James clarifies this and says, because to fail one makes you guilty of all. And if you are guilty you come under the curse of the law which is death.
People need to consider the term "whole" if it was just referring to the ten commandments, it wouldn't be "whole" because the whole law was the BOOK of the law of God.
If we failed in any point in the book of the law of God, we are sinners guilty of death, Any of God's law, no matter what it was, if we failed, then we fell short of his glory.
But the good news is, that Jesus came to make us right with God through paying for our sin, and taking our own death penalty since we all deserved death and in doing so made us right with God through faith. Without him, we'd still be lost, helpless souls on our way to hell.
There are only 10 of them, how many laws does the United States of America have and don't you have to abide by them too?
The point is that once you know now that you need to keep the commandments you need to ask to receive the spirit of God and then with the power of God in your life it will be easier not to kill, or not steal, and so on, You cannot follow the law without the spirit and strength of God in you, its impossible.

Adam and eve were only given one "do not do", a very simple one, don't eat the fruit. They had numerous other fruits they could have had, yet, they couldn't even avoid this one simple command. They were perfect, sin had not yet entered the world, so they didn't even have a sin nature, and yet, they couldn't avoid this one simple law.

I believe the answer is none. Each commandment was changed in the NT and a number of cammandments were added that were not given in the OT.
Colossians gives a wonderful description of the NT Christian. Chapter 1 identifies God, Ch2 speaks of the disposition of the Law. Ch3 tells us how to put off the old man, and take on the new.
These are the commandments, among others, we should obey

You are exactly correct. But the OT Law also forbad you to touch anything unclean. Than includes Gentiles, women, anyone with an issue of blood, puplicans and sinners, anyone with a sore.
Christ's commandments took away the seperation between clean and unclean which included the sick, women, sinners, Gentiles and animals.
Not on the ten commandments, but on the law Moses wrote. There are different laws as the ceremonial laws which pointed to the coming of Christ that was done with and the moral laws of God written by his own fingers and stands forever. I'll read Galatians and I'll get back with you.
The thing is though, the entire book of the law had to be followed, and if anything was broken in that book, no matter what it was, was considered a sin. The book showed us how far we had fallen from his glory and that the entire world stands guilty before God.
That law cannot show us obedient, only disobedient. This is why those who try to be under this law will not be heirs with children of the free. Salvation comes totally and solely by the grace of God through Jesus blood....

Everything in the Law, and yes the sabbath was part of that Law, pointed to the cross my dear friend. Everything that the Lord commanded for the sabbath pointed to Jesus in some way, shape, and form.
And the sabbath helped remind the people that they were once slaves in Egypt and that the Lord brought them out by his mighty hand(Deut 5:15), and that it was the Lord who sanctified them(Exodus 31:13)

The Lord sanctifies us through the offering of the body of himself. Everything pointed to the work Christ would do. If one delves into the sabbath and all that the Lord commanded for it, including the priestly work they performed in the temple specifically on the sabbath, one would see that it does indeed revolve around the work of Christ.
How Christ rested when his works were complete, and we too can rest because he makes us complete, in this we can rest from our works as we trust and rest in his.
Even the story of creation and the rest of God was written in the Law, which was a shadow of Christ. Everything God ever did was for the sole purpose of revealing his son to us and the plan of salvation. It all revolves around Jesus and his work on the cross. His precious blood which was shed for the forgiveness of sins.

So what is this new covenant? It's the covenant in the blood of Christ. When we sign the contract, we agree in the terms and conditions to (1) believe in the name of God's Son Jesus Christ and (2) love one another as Christ loved. What law we are bound by? The Law of Life {Spirit}. As long as we keep these terms and conditions, we are granted by the Law of Life eternal life. And this is the truth of the Gospel.

If there is no law, there is no law violation—there is no sin committed. The law says that God is holy; well, we are not holy. The law is contrary to us. The law, including the Ten Commandments, says we cannot do this and do that. The law was against us and stood opposed to our sinful nature. Our sins, our debts, to be paid are too much. Thus, Christ paid them all at the cross, fulfilling the demands {works} of the law.

I wonder if 7th day was such important why the New testament does not emphasize for gentiles or Jews on "Remember the sabbath day by keeping it holy". This idea was repeated so many times in the Old Testaments.The New Test only reminds us about the other commandments. Attempts at Sabbath-keeping is a retrogressive act. Whilst as new covenant Christians we can set aside any day sabbath-keeping gives the wrong message. In any case nobody can possibly "keep" the Sabbath according to how God ordained it when He first introduced it under the Law of Moses. Hence, any sabbath-"keeping" is, at best, a total farce and at worst illegal. Even the Jews know this. Check it out friends

Saturday is the Sabath , Sunday is refered to as the First Day of the week or the day after the Sabath all 8 times it is mentioned in the New Testament. I know Jesus rose on a Sunday. Romans 14:5-6 Say that if you call a certain day Gods then that is alright and if you don't then that is alright also. Joshau said there is no certain day for the Lord they are all his. I feel you should be the same on Thursday as you are on Sunday. I work on Sunday .

Keep the 10 commandments, only way you can meet the conditions for your inherited salvation. BTW, you don't go to heaven or hell, the bible clearly states that you are the soul and when you die you rest until Jesus's 2nd coming THEN you live on as perfect spiritual beings. That is if you keep the commandments and don't worship the lord in vein by saying you accept him but do not follow his law.

He seems, however, to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. All raw meat can cause you to get sick, not just from pigs, but beef and other red meats like that too. It is red meats that doctors often request people to stop eating if their health is bad. The separation of meat in the bible had nothing to do with whether it was unhealthy or bad for you, it was given as a means to remind the people of Israel that they were separate from the gentile nations.

Yeah, Jesus worked on the Sabbath! I do too. Jesus broke the Sabbath command and so I am. Still the scripture says Jesus never sin. So I never break the sabbath command when I work. God commanded them to eat clean animals as a reminding that they are God's holy people. They are commanded never to associate themselves with Gentiles and follow the ways of the Gentiles. Until God taught Peter in a vision that Peter finally understood the meaning--God made Israel and Gentiles one in Christ.

This sabbath day can be debatable....remember everything in the bible is about interpretation. The bible says you must work six days and keep the sabbath holy. Keep the seventh day holy. I don't know about you but my first day of work is monday. so, i can say, that i should work for six days and keep the seventh day holy. i can work from monday through saturday and keep sunday holy. the bible says YOU MUST WORK SIX DAYS. so if my work day starts on a monday i should keep sunday holy.

I have heard that the days of the week come from Roman beliefs as does the 2 major holidays celebrated yearly xmas & easter. Jesus perfected the Sabbath. He put an end to all the requirements of sanctification that required an "entering into to" and repeating. Whatever repeats is a shadow. Christ's church simply asks that we accept him as Lord and "be not carnally minded" The Sabbath is no longer a binding law, but a principle based upon 6 day work, not a man made calendar.

Matthew 24 Jesus is speaking "himself" about the End of all ages or End times... Matthew 24:20 reads: "And pray your flight is not in the winter or on the SABBATH." This is biblical FACT that Jesus Himself is prophesying about the END TIMES which includes today 2/12/11 and beyond... Which makes the Sabbath (Saturday, the 7th day) still in effect...

I went to the COGWMS for 7 months. Long story short after being loyal and attending daily, doing things like prostelitizing for many hours. I was kicked out of church by the Pastor. He never gave me any reason as to why I should not go to the church. I came to find out through extensive research that it was a cult. There are many churches in Korea that claim that they have the second coming Christ. Poor lost souls.

I am concerned that you support the keeping of the Torah with Matt 5.17-19 and then you state that you do not keep the main ingredient of the Law.
How do you justify this. Christ never stopped the sacrifices.

@mark0454 He was our sacrifice for us. The blood of bulls and goats NEVER atoned anyone's sin, it was just a way to show your repentance to Yahweh. Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all]. (Read all of Hebrews 10) Yahushua did stop the sacrifices.

5) Here is my main concern with your comment. The NT was not canonized into a single book until the 5th century. If the word "scripture" in the NT ONLY meant the OT, then none of the NT can claim inspiration II Tim 3.16.
Did the NT only become true in the 5th century. Christ's words were truth the moment he uttered them, and still are today.
More of concern is that this comment is often used when to deny the deity of Christ and his teachings. I hope this is not the case with you.

@mark0454 I am not denying Yahushua or His teachings. He taught the Law and Kept it. He kept the Sabbath and the feasts also. He always says "not my will but yours (Yahweh's) be done. Every Sabbath day the Torah was read in the synagogue. (Acts 13:15) There were not copies of the bible like there are today. It was very difficult to get the ink, lambs skin and whatever else they needed to write with. Paul didn't have the Gospels to read from.

2) The epistles were copied and distributed throughout the churches in Asia during this period, as were copies of the Gospel
3) No one had a "book" called the Bible as we know it today
5) Most preaching was oral

I am a follower of Yahushua and to be that you have to walk as He walked. He walked a perfect life and I am not perfect but I strive to be righteous. Psalm 119:142 Thy righteousness [is] an everlasting righteousness, and thy law [is] the truth. Check out all of Psalm 119.

@imseekingtruth Good morning Sir. I hope you are well. I John 2.7 same verse as II John 5, where John states what that old commandment is..."that we love one another" This is the Law of Christ which permeates the entire NT, but especially the book of John, and I,II,III John.
In these 4 books there are 1010 verses and a scant mention of the Law. So to say that John is speaking of the Law or the 10cs would be to ignore the primary message of these books: Love, believe in Christ, walk in Christ

@mark0454 Matthew 22:37-40 says that loving your neighbor and Yahweh are the 2 commandments that hang on ALL the LAW and PROPHETS. That means that the law and the prophets are teaching you how to love Yahweh with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. Nothing in the Law is telling you not to love someone, it is all about how to love. Walking in Yahushua is keeping the Law because the law also teaches u what sin is He did not sin because he never broke the law.

The atheist because of the sense of importance is not really in a good position to contemplate the realities of the existence of God but so too is the Christian in a position that is not a good place to realise the necessity to keep the Sabbath holy on the 7th day because the sense of importance precludes him or her from doing so. Its an interesting subject.

Good afternoon BD. I hope you are well. If I were dependant upon several verses that obliquely mention the passing of the Law, I would be on shakey theological ground.
But the whole book of Colossians, many passages in Romans, most of Galatian and Hebrews unequivically state that the Law is taken away, waxed old, dead, the bondwoman, ministration of death.
Replaced by much more rigerous commandments in those same passages.
Read one short chapter, Col 3. Does the law compare to this?

James 2:10-11
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law."
Is the 10 commandments still stand today? According to this verse yes it is, and if you don't follow all of them you are sinning for sin is the transgression of the law and the wages of sin is death.

Did you notice that James says the "whole" law? That if you offend in just one point you are guilty of all? The most interesting thing to note is that Paul says pretty much the exact same thing in his own writings:
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Notice he says that one is cursed if they do not keep ALL.....

things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Meaning if a person even failed to keep just one point, they were cursed. Why? James clarifies this and says, because to fail one makes you guilty of all. And if you are guilty you come under the curse of the law which is death.
People need to consider the term "whole" if it was just referring to the ten commandments, it wouldn't be "whole" because the whole law was the BOOK of the law of God.

If we failed in any point in the book of the law of God, we are sinners guilty of death, Any of God's law, no matter what it was, if we failed, then we fell short of his glory.
But the good news is, that Jesus came to make us right with God through paying for our sin, and taking our own death penalty since we all deserved death and in doing so made us right with God through faith. Without him, we'd still be lost, helpless souls on our way to hell.

The point is that once you know now that you need to keep the commandments you need to ask to receive the spirit of God and then with the power of God in your life it will be easier not to kill, or not steal, and so on, You cannot follow the law without the spirit and strength of God in you, its impossible.

Adam and eve were only given one "do not do", a very simple one, don't eat the fruit. They had numerous other fruits they could have had, yet, they couldn't even avoid this one simple command. They were perfect, sin had not yet entered the world, so they didn't even have a sin nature, and yet, they couldn't avoid this one simple law.
And you, would have people believe, that a law which goes quite deeper than the phyiscal can be kept by you? Jesus came into this world to fulfill...

I believe the answer is none. Each commandment was changed in the NT and a number of cammandments were added that were not given in the OT.
Colossians gives a wonderful description of the NT Christian. Chapter 1 identifies God, Ch2 speaks of the disposition of the Law. Ch3 tells us how to put off the old man, and take on the new.
These are the commandments, among others, we should obey

You are exactly correct. But the OT Law also forbad you to touch anything unclean. Than includes Gentiles, women, anyone with an issue of blood, puplicans and sinners, anyone with a sore.
Christ's commandments took away the seperation between clean and unclean which included the sick, women, sinners, Gentiles and animals.

Not on the ten commandments, but on the law Moses wrote. There are different laws as the ceremonial laws which pointed to the coming of Christ that was done with and the moral laws of God written by his own fingers and stands forever. I'll read Galatians and I'll get back with you.

The thing is though, the entire book of the law had to be followed, and if anything was broken in that book, no matter what it was, was considered a sin. The book showed us how far we had fallen from his glory and that the entire world stands guilty before God.
That law cannot show us obedient, only disobedient. This is why those who try to be under this law will not be heirs with children of the free. Salvation comes totally and solely by the grace of God through Jesus blood....

But Christ died so that we can be freed from sin, so we can stand on our feet, and the righteous requirements of the Law can then be fulfilled in us.
The Sabbath does not point foward to the Cross, but backwards to Creation.

Everything in the Law, and yes the sabbath was part of that Law, pointed to the cross my dear friend. Everything that the Lord commanded for the sabbath pointed to Jesus in some way, shape, and form.
And the sabbath helped remind the people that they were once slaves in Egypt and that the Lord brought them out by his mighty hand(Deut 5:15), and that it was the Lord who sanctified them(Exodus 31:13)
And I don't think that there is any question as to how one is sanctified is there?

The Lord sanctifies us through the offering of the body of himself. Everything pointed to the work Christ would do. If one delves into the sabbath and all that the Lord commanded for it, including the priestly work they performed in the temple specifically on the sabbath, one would see that it does indeed revolve around the work of Christ.
It represents completion in Christ....

How Christ rested when his works were complete, and we too can rest because he makes us complete, in this we can rest from our works as we trust and rest in his.
Even the story of creation and the rest of God was written in the Law, which was a shadow of Christ. Everything God ever did was for the sole purpose of revealing his son to us and the plan of salvation. It all revolves around Jesus and his work on the cross. His precious blood which was shed for the forgiveness of sins.

We both know that the battle that has been fought for decades is not even about the Law to begin with, for all agree that we are not to murder, or worship idols, but it is on whether or not the Sabbath should be kept, and on which day.

People fight between the sabbath and sunday; however, this battle takes peoples eyes off the true battle which is the battle to take our eyes off the blood of Christ.
Satan wants people to turn their eyes back to their own works and away from the cross. He knows that if he can turn their eyes back to their works, and make people focus on themselves and not Christ and his works, then he has won the battle.
Satan hates the blood of Christ because the power of God is in the cross
