this is aimed at people who own registers. so if u own a register u will have the coins sorted out in it . Then all u do is take them type by type and count them. its not a sorter its a counter. it does save u time. but for it to pay for itself u would need to wait awhile

@fuelban first find the weight of the bag. find the weight of 1 coin. weigh the bag full of coins. divide by the coin weight. and you have your amount. or drop it down a tube and see how many you have. you're stupid.

ValOn, "uk money comes from historical weights and measures"... { Norman invasion 1066}... each coin making up part and parcel of the ounce, & decimal is similar, and as such, if you know the coin, say 2 pence, you know its weight, 7 Gram, 2 x = 14 Gr, 4 = 28 Gr, or 1 ounce, and 1 Pence is 1/2 that weight 3.5Gr, & a half penny is half that again, so you can weigh mass, & know the number..simple.

@fuelban not all mints produce coins of the same thickness every year so that would change the mass of each coin. As well, different years have different compositions of metal which drastically changes the mass of each coin/year. So your method is unreliable and can amount to an error of up to 2 coins per bank roll of coin. That is, unless you only accept one specific year coin at your business...
