  • I like the way you decorated your mask.i even liked the Bugs Bunny mask it was cool!

  • We did masks like that in art class. But before we painted we put wall mud on to smooth it out.

nice smile; nice to see a girl working in good mood.

  • thank you thank you so much i defintely want to try this sometime it looks fun and interesting =D by the way your a great artist

  • it is NOT hard to get "casting material." you can find it in craft stores like Michaels. it is just plaster on gauze. you could probably even make it yourself by using gauze and plaster ( i havent tried it but it would be a good experiment.)

  • Great job I mean it

I wish I could do somethin like that

    I'll try

  • soooo Tin foil for face shape then wet warm newspaper or doctor wrap for its hardend form then wait then paint? i realll y want to make on of these masks but always thought it be to hard and never know where to buy them ..

  • that's so creative!

    thanks!

  • The kid's mask looked sooo cool. O_O

  • BEFORE YOU PAINT IT!!! use sand paper to smooth out the rough bumps if you want it to look authentic!

  • cool

  • so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

  • Wow! That was good! Can u pls tell me wat store u can buy plaster?

  • Michaels craft store has it - it is called Rigid Wrap. Some others probably have it too.

  • @Zuneowner Did you consider that it was the girls project and the boy horned in on it?

  • hahaha...i just think their parents are fucking strict....making vids about how to do masks????..pretty fucked up do only reason i ended up was because i was watching random vidS

  • @Zuneowner we love to do videos about stuff like this. we are artists (our parents are NOT) we even have our own business. And my brother at this age was a super big PEST (in fact he still is) So you can judge people all you want, but you cannot change my great family and my awesome parents

  • Awsome video, REALLY appreaciate it! But how did you get the eyes to be such a perfect circle?

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • or... how to... i guess... hahaha

  • yeah, you do look like jennifer garner! lol

    awesome tutorial :)

  • I'm an event planner and we are planning a mardi gras party for a client and her invitations are going to be mini mask that we are hand making....I found some mini full face plain mask that you decorate and I was wondering should I still put casting material on that to make it hard? Or just decorate it as is?

  • If it is flimsy plastic I would put just one layer of casting (or newspaper and glue) on it. If it is heavier plastic I would just decorate it as is. Good luck!

  • Thats awesome! Thanks for the tips! :)

  • This is a great tutorial, kudos to you for making it easy to understand and follow :)

  • u look like jennifer garner...i think thats her name...u even talk like her...sorta.

  • heeeey! u look like the girl from the movie 13 going on thirty!

  • hey, i know that u put a stick on ur mask, but, do u know how 2 put ribbons on it to tie around ur head???

  • very creative!

  • ahhhhh foil!!!! i hadnt thought of that !

  • Where is the video on Joel's mask? His looks so much cooler than hers! I would like to see his mask. Could you make a video of that?

  • where do you buy that casting stuff cuz i need to do a project and this is perfect

  • Drugstores maybe. =))

  • My prom is coming up and our theme is opera, and I knew I wanted to make my own mask but I didnt really know how to go at it. But this helped me out so much, and I love your creativity! Thank you! :]

  • did you take the foil first and then formed it into the shape you wnted while it was over your face or sumthing? cuz im lost. my mask id sue soon n i got 2 strt if u noe da answer pleeeez reply. THX dat girls mask was sort of ugly but, creative.

  • cool! im going to try to make a Phantom Of The Opera mask!

  • ah i use foil

  • u are very creative, and I like your enthusiasm!

  • I have a question.

What if you just wanted it to be like a tie mask, not a stick mask. How would you work that out? Like create holes in the tin foil before ? or what?

    thanksss

  • hey someone plzzz help!

i went to the pharmacy and got the bandages but when i wet it and attached it to anything it didnt harden even after hours!

so i went bak and told them that i wanted the casting one and sthey told me that i needed a prescription and that i shud go to the hospital...why is this happening?

  • Question.....did you use Tin foil or just aluminum foil like reynolds?

  • so when it's finished it's not flexible, right?

  • no it isnt

  • isn't she using something called modroc short for modern rock?

  • omg thats way better then that stupid paper plate method. im going to try it out. ty for the tut

  • Nice video! My kids love costuming, and making our own masks is a great family activity, and adds to the build-up to a good party event. Keep up the good work!

  • i tried doing that but the cast roll slipped right of

  • how much is tht white cast thingy??

  • great.. thanks for sharing

1000 bexos muah de fresita kon vodka

  • the foil form is a good idea. But I think sanding it and priming it would create a more professional look and make it easier on your paint use. Looks great though.

  • Not my style but it looks good :) thanks for the vid.

  • thank you! i needed this a lot, and you're gorgeous!

  • it i made a masquerade mask i'd have peacoc feathers and silver glitter

  • hey pretty cool....

  • i love your voice!

  • took forever to load.

    exaclty what i needed.

    thanks so much.

  • fantastic

this is wat i need thankyou

  • Nice video! I think the casting material looks better than paper mache would. Going to try to find that.

  • I♥ your brothers mask LOL

  • Is there any way you can do a video of you MAKING the mold w/ foil- like on your face?

  • just press the foil to your face and punch eyeholes :P

  • But wouldn't it be too fragile?

  • No... My mask works just fine.

  • haha shes cute,she giggled =P

  • a few things!

First- your mask it totally gorgeous! I <3 it!

    also a few ?'s

Your friend in the background seemed to have done a very intricate design, I was wondering how they did that. I'm interested in making a Butterfly shaped mask and Didn't know exactly how to do it.

How many layers of tin foil did you use?

DId you have to glue the tin foil together?

Do you cut and then mold to your face or the other way around?

Thank you so much for this video!

  • Okay - First of all, Thanks!

My brother's mask was Taz, so we layered the foil about 6 times, molded it to his face and while the foil was on his face we drew the taz onto it - it sticks up above his head and around his cheeks. Then we cut the shape with scissors and put a few pieces of scotch tape around the edges. A butterfly shouldn't be too difficult, just handle the foil very carefully especially when adding the paper mache or casting. Hope we helped -- good luck!

  • you gave me such great inspiration!!!!!

  • Can also just apply the plaster bandage straight to your face...making sure you put Vasaline over your eyebrows and any other hair so it doesn't stick =)

  • can u make a video on how to make the mold with tin foil

  • its plaster bandage lol

  • i have made my mask and put a layer of cast on.. how many layers should i use to make ti "hard". mine is a full face, and it is a bit flimsy. should i have smoothed the cast "paste" out over the mask after to give it a smoother finish?

  • Yes, you can use aluminum foil - make it 4 layers thick.

Cut strips of newspaper (it is hard to get casting material)and dip the newspaper in a thin water and flour mixture - I don't know the exact proportions if you look up 'paper mache' you can find it.

Hope this helps - good luck!

  • great video. I love the idea of starting with a tinfoil mold of your face! I am going to try this. good job :)

  • thank you because I could not figure out how to get the shape of my face.

  • Thanks for the video. I've been looking for a cheap way to make masks for videos.

  • hey thanks for he advice!!! i have a school project due and now i can start it cheers !

  • Do you use acrylics to paint the mask?

  • Yes, we use acrylics and sometimes fabric paints for the highlights. We usually spray it with a clear acrylic spray when we are finished, too.

  • wow! thank you so much for sharing! ^^

  • I never would have thought to use tinfoil. Thanks for sharing! ;-)

  • This is so awesome! =D

I'm so glad I found your video! (I need to make a mask for school)

  • were can u bye the stuff the docters us to make casts or w.e
