I lost a good friend 2 days ago. He showed me this band and I haven't stopped listening to this song since. His funeral is this Sunday. Rest In Piece, we'll see you soon. <3
@DanceStickKidDance I know that.(: But while they were working with Koji, they were also working on their Wildlife album, so they must have gotten inspiration from this song.
@tiller9123 They're like the only one that's brought back old emo music in this way. The spoken word thing is actually a relatively original thing. Listener does it, but not in the same way. The actual musical technicality is brilliant though. Their chord progressions are amazing.
This song is great, but this record should not have been on a 12" or have been as much as it was. Four songs for $12 + shipping, one song being a worse-reworked version of an old song. I was really disappointed with that aspect of the record.
@punkmusical personally I like how it was released as a 12" instead of a double sided 7". It's just more convenient to not have to flip the record in between. Also I think the price is fairly reasonable- you're not paying entirely for the songs but for the cool design of the record. We all have our own opinions, but I think "Last Blues" and the original each fill their own space as a song and I like each song equally. And agreed this is an awesome song
tragically beautiful. like those last words of the person you loved the last time you ever saw them. the kinda thing that's so simple you'll never forget, and so bleakly effective you wish you could. broken, like glass on a pictureframe that you held so close to you at one point that you're now discarding away because it's shattered and serves no purpose anymore, or were you the one shattered and left for dead, thrown away without any real justifiable sentiment on how or why.
Okay. So, as a huge fan of La Dispute (Jordan's lyrics and uncomparable) i think anyone who likes this band/music should look up "Bear Core", i know it seems silly at first but "bear" in "bear core" comes from the saying "unbearable pain"... seems emo-y and gay, but really, try out "bear core", mainly the song SFCNB
so, type "bear core sfcnb" into your search bar... then come back and thank me
This song pretty much describes how it was when my best friend died two years ago.
One of the many reasons that La Dispute will always be my favorite band is that they're really easy to relate to for me. All their song are real, and have real emotions. I will always love them for that.

This is a beautiful song, I listen to it when I want to escape reality. Something about it is so surreal, yet perfect to me.

I seriously think this song is a follow up of the song King Park, because of the said kid in the song. I don't mind it. Just an observation.(:
