  • Fred Dryer was the first guy who taught me that a receding hairline doesn't have to mean you can't carry a gun, shoot first and then gun it in your two-tone Dodge Daytona.

  • Only Stepfanie Kramer can DRIFT a FWD Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. Marry me. LOL

  • I use to watch this show all the time.

  • Whitey Bulger and Hunter bear a strange resemblance.

  • Stephanie Kramer and the wife from Everybody Loves Raymond look alike

  • works for me

  • Man I had a crush on Stephanie Kramer back in '84.

  • I remember the sure starting with a gun

  • This was a great show! I remember watching this, when I was about nine years old. I loved law enforcement-related shows, back in the day!

  • Fred Dryer's character is just as powerful as Clint Eastwood.

Stepfanie Kramer's character is not just tomboyish, but she's just as unorthodox as Hunter is.

They almost fell in love, but sad to see Dee Dee McCall (Kramer) married someone else before she left the show.

I think the tomboyish Dee Dee McCall should marry the gun-happy badass Rick Hunter; they are made for each other, on-duty and off-duty.

  • I used to watch this show everytime it was on. I was like 6 at the time. I remember one specific episode where it starts with the song "Burning Down the House" by the Talking heads. It was about an arsonist. Thats one that sticks in my head more than the others

  • @thagrtstuvawltyme11 I started liking the "burning down the house" song after this episode. of course, i am dreaming about burning my office.

  • stl ce film ma marké javé 6 AN AU ENVIRON a cette épok et javé révé kan j seré grd jiré o eta uni voir rick et macool st til tjrs en vie. ki pouré menvoyé ts lé saison méme si cé en anglai

  • I don't remember to much of the show seen a few episodes as a kid but the intro song rings a bell dead on though.

  • Lovely! This reminds me of my childhood. Nice memories :-)

  • My grandma used to love this show. She would kick us off the TV to watch this dude. It was so annoying!

  • "It works for me!"

  • Oh yah... now THIS was an awesome show! I loved (love) Fred Dryer!!

  • 368 Hunters, 8 Hunted

  • I used to watch this as a kid, but in the '90s, cause stupid communists banned any foreign tv show. After that we could see shows like Knight Rider or Chips or this one.

  • Hunter is tha man!!

  • what happened to the"works for me"?

  • here in my country the series was broadcasted in the 90's. it didn't makeme love it less. The hunter is and will be one of the best tv series i've ever seen, i only regret i could not watch the last chapter

  • shooting a gun inside a car makes your ears ring for 2 days. just sayin'

  • Fred Dryer was EASILY the Dirty Harry of the 80s. Just as tall and just as badass.

  • Guess this vid doesn´t work for 7 people...

  • They sure did love pointing guns.

  • @OGdbleE freakin nice catch..

  • @1gmarquez Yeah I have working eyeballs.

  • Fred Dryer has a 5 head.

  • @jayce79 Just like Clint Eastwood.

  • @videozfann

Haahaa, . . true. But I think Freddy Dryer takes the cake.

  • Stefanie Kramer was great, too bad the drugs got her.

  • @theshield44 really. ?

  • @theshield44 heard also, she did do prositution, wander if she had that outfit on

  • Ah, the 80s, when cars could fly...short distances.

  • Qu'est ce que j'ai pu en faire des coloriages devant cette série TV là :) Le bon vieux temps ( de l'insouciance )

  • That's some forehead.

  • @turloghtheblack more like a five head.....OHHHHHHHHHHH NO I DIDN't!

  • haha when i had big hair i was told i looked like her ;-)

  • How can I view a full Hunter episode?

  • @Theadiallo buy the dvd set!

  • I learned how to masturbate so I could enjoy Stephanie Kramer.

  • Hunter was the tv version of dirty harry. Fred Dreyer said so in a tv interview a few yrs back. Dreyer's character was based on Clint Eastwood's. Same city San Francisco, however Clint Eastwood was much better in the role I think. Also I don't buy Stephanie Kramer as a cop. This show started the pc version of futuristic cop shows of men and women partners.

  • I did not know that Hunter came on TV Land back in the day. If i would have known, I would have watched it.

  • Fred Dryer kicked ass back in the day

  • 0:24 gotta love the "why the hell am i squatting like this" pose :D

  • Fred Dryer the only NFL player to record two Safties in one game with the LOS ANGELES RAMS!!!

  • @bjroberts65 wow thats pretty cool

  • Seeing Stepfanie brought back memories. I LOVED hunter as a kid. When I was growing up and saw a 1911, I always thought about this show!

  • 0:41 there's never a ramp around when you need one these days!

  • @AvEryBadApPLe How about those old granite-weighted cars making the jump tho? Impressive.

  • Cars flipped over a lot in the 80s.

  • the formula that made this the hottest cop show in history is.....a crazy cool cop detective dude that doenst follow laws , with a hot partner... and plenty of car chases, things blowing up and the california sun

u can go wrong with that , yall

  • @thomaschevelle works for me"

  • On bad thing about the early 80's though.... the cars were fucking toilets!

  • Stephanie Kramer with that gun turned me on

  • You missed Hunters' catchprase, "It Works For Me!"

  • daryl gates chief of the la police appeared in an episode of hunter he is the police brutality psychopath that invented swat killers of innocent people he thought the rodney king beating was good the cowards in the police ran away and abandonded reginald denny in his beating

  • Was her name Dee Dee?

  • @drumdust yea dee dee i know a friend named broadway joe murphy who is a stuntman that worked with dryer and holds the record for going through the biggest ball of fire the people in back of me have a dog named hunter it chases its tail thats what cops really do to cover up for their crimminal friends hunter was an orgy of gratuitous violence

  • @spacepatrolman Yeah but gratuitous violence in the best possible way.

  • @drumdust no gratuitous violence is violence for violence sake for no reason the los angeles police are involved in police butality its terrible you wouldnt like it if they did that to you

  • @spacepatrolman Jesus mate it's just a tv theme song. Not much chance of dealing with LA's finest down in Australia. We have our own cop's to deal with :)

  • i never got this show....

  • WOW! I used to watch this show alot. Stephanie Kramer is hot. They need to start making shows like this again. BTW Why did you cut out " Works for Me"?

  • Works for me.

  • Does anyone know what football team Fred Dryer played for?

  • @Michaeldean88 LA Rams I think?

  • @Vennegoor10 Thanks dude.

  • @Michaeldean88 He played for the L.A. Rams

  • Fred Dryer is Kryten from Red Dwarf.

  • @captainfantastic209 WTF??

No he isnt...Kryten was played by ROBERT LLEWELLYN

  • @grotty1535 Hahaha you took me seriously? LMAO

  • just get me two of every machine that played video....and the hunter......then format won't matter

  • @jajunkunt

    BOOOSH!

  • "Works for me."

  • Has all the masterful touches of a Jo Swerling, Jr. production.

  • Did i say it was a Dodge Daytona? I am sure thats what i said, anyhow bought a matchbox model that was the same colour when i was a kid, i still have it along with my collection. Derek from Wigan England

  • What episode had Sympathy for the Devil in it?

  • This was the show I used to watch on saturday nights. Loved this show, and how dude had a love for those big pistols. Didn't care for it at first, but over time, it grew on me. Wish they would syndicate it, but oh well...

  • His partner was so hot, I was only 14 when this was on but I was old enough to know she damned fine

  • @rochstan123 Your not alone there mate

  • Sigh. I wish I had my own 80's style intro... ^_^

  • Mike Post and Pete Carpenter ruled theme songs back in the day.

  • Rick Hunter is THE shit!!

  • @KFCJojo robotech is cool

  • Stepfanie Kramer was sooooooo lovely!! *_*

  • Man, to think he was just a phone call away from becoming Vice President.

  • this was a fantastic show works for me :)

  • daytona z was such a fast car !!! watched so many reruns !!!!!!

  • Stepfanie Kramer?? S-t-e-P-F-a-n-i-e? Seriously, okay, whatever.

  • Actually I believe there was another theme intro before this one.

  • If i am not mistaken was the car was a Dodge Daytona?

  • @derekrudd2 Oh yes it is.

  • That red Charger was a POS and an insult to the name "Charger"

  • @AlWheelin That's a Daytona Shelby Z. Not a Charger.

  • Hunter! Finally on dvd and in a whole series set. Took long enough.

  • Hunter wasted someone in literaly every episode of season one!

  • I never realized what a cutie Fred Dryer was. Back then of course.

  • @psychoboysaz Works For Him!

  • You cut the best part! "it works to me"

  • Were there any t-shirts in the 80's that had Hunter's picture on them and said "Works For Me"?

  • didnt he say works for me at the end of the intro?

  • was it just me, or did stepfanie kramer's character dee-dee always have to go undercover as a hooker?

  • Fred Dryer kicked the 80's ass more than Chuck Norris!

  • @Steeldrifter no way man he couldnt even kick ass in the pilot them 3 dudes messed his ass up chuck norris needs to teach Dryer some skills

  • @Steeldrifter LOL! think so?

  • why was so many of these actresses on these 80's tv shows named stephanie, it must have been a popular ass name back then

  • Hot Ass Stephanie Kramer

  • Aw, man. I used to watch this with my dad when I was a kid. I used to imitate hunter's method of aiming and shooting a bad guy. Brings back memories.

  • "works for me" is missing from the end but cool intro

  • Comment removed

  • works for me

  • The 1980's, the decade of cool intro theme songs and shit that BLEW UP. Damn, the good old days.

  • Cut off the "works for me" quote? WTF?!

  • i heard hunter is a football star

  • @kasatkin1000 google fred dryer. the dude played for the rams

  • If only Hunter and Dirty Harry could team up.

  • @retrofann1 I'm not sure the world is ready for that... We're still trying to co-exist with Chuck Norris :D

  • @rmattis100 With all 3, look out, LOL!

  • remember when the show broke the 4th wall i'm glad they killed that idea.

  • I remember my Mum shouting 'Oh My God he looks just like Clint Eastwood.' at Fred Dryer an ex NFL chap. Think she missed the point.

  • I remember my Mum shouting 'Oh My God he looks just like Clint Eastwood.' at Fred dryer/. Think she missed the point.

  • Hunter was modelled on Harry callaghan i think the idea came from the movie THE ENFORCER. GREAT SHOW.

  • Ah, yes . . . Dirty Harry lite.

  • I remember when I was a kid I was so in love with Michael Jackson, Andy Gibb and Fred Dryer and I still haven't gotten over the older men thing yet....LOL

  • @dbastard1977 Really? I'm turning 174 next month ;) lol

  • I liked the opening credits better than the show itself.

  • I think Stefanie Kramer was my first real crush.

  • @chiefmungomartin Your not the only one.

  • funny the way they got that daytona to smoke the tires was by using the emergency brake

  • How did they get a Dodge Daytona to run long enough to film this?

  • @kpz1234 they probably bought a fleet of them

  • @kpz1234 they would always frame out the tow truck that just pulled or pushed it into frame. you wouldn't dare try to run the car or you would have to edit out the smoke and the backfires

  • @kpz1234 they gutted the engine and replaced it with an old ford model T

  • One word....BADASS

  • she was hot back in the day!

  • This was a time when it was man sized chunks of telly goodness on the box, This is as good as it got , none of your'e Big brother nonsense to fill up the telly scheduling, Nope what we have here is proper primetime viewing in any languge. there's so much crap on terrestrial primetime nowadays it's very sad i have to revisit my youth for a bit of quality like this little gem.

  • Hunter was based on Dirty Harry no doubt about it. I thought the two were well cast.

  • Stepfanie Kramer is definitely a hot looking lady, but when she needed to, she could sure open up a 6 pack of whoop ass.

  • Works for me.

  • hey folks ..how many times did HUNTER'S female partner get raped during the series run??

  • Funny how listening to the old crappy '80's TV show theme tunes can make one smile...some were rather good for what they were...popcorn entertainment.

  • Watching this, I realize how crazy and cheesy 80s TV could be. Sure 80s TV moped the floor with 90s TV, it wasn't a contest vs. the 90s. But going up against the much more depth and quality of 00s TV, the 80s are exposed for what it was, a bunch of often disconected Rambo episodes.

  • @Seanjat Uhh what kind of depth do we have on network TV now? Bueller?

  • @Seanjat Are you kiddingt? Today's drama and cop shows all seem the same. Do you really need so many CSIs? At least 80s tv shows had cool theme songs and memorable characters. All you see now are a bunch of botox plastic people with no personality.

  • I was sooo in love with Dee dee when i was a kid

  • All shows of this ilk, from mid 1970s to mid 1980s followed the same formula, from the music, to plot, to character interplay, all the same, and I loved them.

  • The tv version fo Dirty Harry. No Criminal would be safe between Harry and Hunter.

  • This show was so damn awesome when I was a kid.

  • that's from my childhood, i used to watch it every sunday night in the late 80s

  • "WORKS FOR ME" missed off the end of the clip !!! :(

  • Im an old tv show JUNKIE! I hear a movie adaptation is in the works too.

  • I love this show. Could someone please explain something to me: what was the point in the early years of Hunter driving some total beat up wreck, an old Impala or whatever? Was it supposed to be some kind of running joke, where he would end up messing up what ever car he was assigned anyway?

  • Did Stepfanie Kramer portray a hooker in every episode? :o

  • @hamtrak No, not in every episode. The story line goes something like this : Mc Call was a vice cop before she teamed up with Hunter. As a female vice cop, she dressed up as a hooker to catch bad guys. The pilot episode is about Hunter about teaming up with Mc Call, and it's in this episode that she's dressed as a slut. In the opening for seasons 1 and 2, you'll see Mc Call kicking a pistol out of the hand of a baddie in an alley. That was from the pilot episode, with Brian Dennehy as guest star.

  • Damn that's why I MISS the 80's! It wasn't a great tv show unless three or four cars got turned over on their sides and slide on their tops during a car chase! And that would be in every ep!

  • Me gustaba esta nena Stepfanie Kramer...

  • I use to love watching Fred Dryer when he played for the rams.

They outlawed the head slap because of him

This was good TV show too

  • Di Di McCaul??? H-O-T

  • one of the best show

  • I wonder if Max Payne was slightly based off Rick Hunter cause when Hunter smiles he looks sort of like Max Payne.

  • last i knew daytona's where fwd nice drift though

  • if i remember correctly he was a no nonsense, dirty harry style cop and he has a worse car than the brilliant columbo. did he also have a catchphrase, i fancied his partner but then i fancied any women that showed up on tv at that time including glynis barber

  • @EllSiefilms His famous catchphrase was (drum roll)..."It works for me".
