Typical small town fire.. Just curious?? Why wasn't there an offensive attack on this fire?? Alot of smoke ok... Cut a hole in the roof, advance lines in and put the fire out... If your gonna go break open windows and just stand around, why not cut a hole for ventilation.. Piss poor fire fighting.. I'd be embarrased to show my face after that... It's a shame it was caught of file and put on youtube...
who is the idiot venting the window without scba on?? well, it's on his back but NO face piece? and you're an officer?? didnt u realize that once u vented and water it the fire that smoke and steam were gonna come out the window?? i hope u got voted out during elections..poor example for others
Chief, retraining on fireground operations and the use of SCBA's, your men looked foolish on the roof with out them, that includes the white hat with the pike pole. Why would you make yourselves look bad like that, dosent make any sense.
@ phirefighter515 yeah I agree the air was free last time I checked. But if you look there mostly young guys not masked up. Maybe they think they'll live forever.
Does anyone wear SCBA anymore?! I swear all the videos of fires in the Lehigh Valley/New Jersey area that I have seen recently, firefighters are wearing the packs and not the masks. Whats the point? When the smoke is blowing in your face non stop and you are on a second floor roof, put the mask on, it's not like the air is expensive!

Scba on the roof?
The boss especially a chief should not be on the roof working your job is to be the boss.
Saw skills need work , no need to move the saw back and forth like a manual saw

they need training on how to use their scba and more training on ground ladders their should at least be 4 to 5 rungs above the roof

@phirefighter515 I agree with you 100%. This video is just piss poor firefighting techniques.
No BAs, no gloves. Officers are the worst of all of them. Quite disappointing.
Obviously they do not love their children and wives enough to ensure they come home alive or actually live to retirement age.
