He said it in an interview that this song is about a little kid he saw on the street getting bullied by a bunch of older kids. And the little kid was too small to stand up for himself against all those big ones. And nobody was helping him. But he didn't give up. He tried to like ignore them thus the lyrics "the one who never lets the worst get the best of him".
