Saw this band open for Rush back in 1980 and 1981 I was 15 at the time. Me and my 2 friends were the only 3 people into them...everyone else was booing them. They just didn't get it. Miss this band!

I have been loving Max since 1978 or so... too clever for their own good - lyrically and musically... Pye Dubois is a genius... I hated prog rock but this converted me from a disco queen on the first real listen (on acid). Probably 1977, and their second album, "High Class..." had just come out, and they were supporting it by opening for Styx - saw them in Kamloops. I was an instant convert. The year of this video, I was doing lighting for a club band on bar circuit tour and we shared sets with a stripper who did a Max Webster set. She used mirrored sunglasses for this song.

It was July, 1978. They backed up Rainbow & Cheap Trick. Max played a solid 45 minute set, then Rainbow came out and tore the place up. 1/2 of the crowd left when Cheap Dick came out.

I'm not too familiar with this band; only by mention from Rush. These guys have a really unique sound. I know about Kim Mitchell with "Go For Soda", but this stuff is different- experimental. I'd like to hear more from these guys.

of the album. Many "live" records form this era and before were heavily overdubbed with replacement vocals being subbed in so big deal. It was a good record and doesn't subtract one iota from Max Webster's ability.

I've seen them live several times (mostly from this era) and the were fantastic.

Wow, I cant believe there is some Max Vids out there. A friend told me about these. What memories. 44 yrs old and still listening. So much a fan my oldest son is named Max. I'm from Fort Erie Ontario and was priveleged to see these guys at small venues around Niagara, especially in Buffalo NY at such places as Roof-tops, Uncle Sams and other bars. Some of my best memories are seeing these guys live. Come on Kim, I know you're reading these. Time for a reunion...

this is incredible - is there a way to save these things or get them in better quality? And yes, they played with Rush periodically, but seriously, if he replaced Geddy on vacoals and Alex on guitar, you'd still have Neil trying to write lyrics instead of Pye back then, would have never worked. In some ways I'm so glad Kim realized the whole Rush association didn't make sense. He would have never moved on and produced decades of even better music.

Saw them with Rush twice and at a bar The Rox in Lubbock Tx on my birthday in 80 best f**kin show I have ever saw. Actually partied with them in the bar before the show they were walking around and nobody knew who they were but us. Terry Watkinson played asteroids with me. What a great memory
