I am sick and tired of people ripping the public off, sorry but once you pay for a cd you should be able to do whatever you want with that cd, include copying it for yourself. STFU music industry go and die in a fire, i am not paying for your ferrari's and arrogance anymore.
Why do some groups want unlimited "property" rights, even in the "out of print" situation? Because business opportunities and high evaluations of assets come and go. They want to own exclusive rights for when an opportunity comes along. In particular, it helps near term to have these vast catalogs in case of a corporate buyout, liquidation, or sale of asset. There is a reason that some want unlimited time, but it doesn't promote the progress... and infringes on most individuals' freedoms.
