  • why does every hall of fame athlete name their kid after themselves???

  • I'm most impressed by his defensive hustle to knock the ball away at the goal line, and his down field blocking for his teammates.

It's one thing to be imbued with great talent, which he clearly is, both those types of things are a matter of great determination and dedication to his craft.

  • this kid is good great field vision and i like his cuts when returning kicks i hope to see him at the next level soon good luck to your future

  • it's sick to see the children who inherited great talents actually IMPROVE on them from the previous generation.

  • I'm impressed with his running ability, especially his cutting at full speed. He also seems to go all-out every play whether he has the ball or not. He has his dad's work ethic which I think people are underestimating.

  • Check out Arkeel Newsome Highlights. He's a sophmore now so you can look at him in Ansonia v Holy Cross

Also check out Uconn, Rutgers recruit Montrell Dobbs highlights

  • He doesn't have stats because he is a redshirt sophomore at UCLA that is burried in the depth charts. The Bruins have crazy depth at WR so his size and speed are keeping him off the field for now. You can bet we will see him play before he graduates though.

  • He only got one Offer that was air force he decided to walk on at Ucla

  • @Erbs55 I know he's not his dad but maybe it would have made more sense to try Mississippi Valley State since they had enough sense to take his dad or maybe a small school like them cause we all know just cause your good in college doesn't always translate to a good pro career. eg brian bosworth.

  • where does he go to college... does anyone know???

  • @MrKonvictMusic He attends UCLA hes a Sophomore and no stats

  • @Erbs55 wait why no stats does he not play?

  • @MrKonvictMusic He has not played yet no stats on espn

  • we gotta 2 get the ball in the air down field 2 this kid see if he really got it

  • the new triplets = nick montana, jerry rice jr and barry sanders jr

  • Hahaha...you haters are so funny! Stop dreaming? Who said anybody's dreaming. He's going to one of the top universities in the country, getting a great education! What are you doing with your lives besides making negative comments on YouTube? Get a life, because he has a darn good one.

  • @JackieRice i like the video but i think ur a huge dick rider

  • @Lebron016 How did you know!!!!! I guess you know a what a huge dick feels like too!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Lebron016 BTW...your idiotic comment shows that YOU DEFINITELY DON'T HAVE A HUGE DICK! That's why you have time to post such vulgar statements that has NOTHING to do with what the post is about. Guys with a small piece try to make up for it with a big mouth!!!

  • @JackieRice dude chill its a fucking dumb comment its fucking youtube get used to it

  • @JackieRice not gunna lie your an asshole...

  • @JackieRice thats not what he means by it numb nuts

  • @Lebron016

Like you know anything about dicks. your favorite athlete is Lebron..... pathetic...... Jerry Rice jr. and Berry Sanders Jr. should be on the same team when there in the NFL. that would be sick.

  • @JackieRice aww its ok dont be insecure.

  • @JackieRice ur son is amazing

  • @Lebron016 Bro its his fucking mother. Leave her be. wouldnt you make videos of your son and post them on youtube,

  • @JackieRice I agree! Let them hate! I look forward to watching Rice Jr. catch footballs and be a role model like his father. His father is the definition of class and greatness! Good luck Jr.!

  • @JackieRice very true. i dont give a shit what your last name is or who your father is. if UCLA recruits you, youve got talent period.

  • stop dreaming

  • Teams are not going to want him to play quaterback probably db or wr

  • which college he went too?

  • I can't wait to see Jerry Jr. beasting at UCLA

  • @00:25 how the hell did he score lol

  • not that fats i see

  • imagine a team like the lions or even Raiders pick up Lil Deion, Nick Montana, Barry Jr., and Barry Jr. that would be amazing

  • this is the problem really, everybody has to big of expectations, and wants to compare every little thing he does to his dad. Let this guy be his own person. People already saying he wont ever make it in the NFL. Who cares.!!! Let this guy develop, who knows maybe he will turn out to be a heck of a player. I just want to see what he does in college first, forget the NFL

  • didnt rice go to mississipi valley st.? Like father like son possibly

  • with Deion Sanders Jr. playing corner!

  • Imagine him with nick montana and barry sanders as RB. Lol now that be legit

  • i give the man props but the only reason people say he sucks cuz his dad was so good and it drowning him out give him a break

  • Anyone else come here from Barry Sanders JR?

  • @hattrick116 I did

  • Haha....BS Jr. is the most exciting player I've seen in a long time. He is AWESOME, just like his dad...humble too.

  • dude isn't very agile.

  • Check out Keevon Harris of Warren ohio

  • @2taggs2 hahaha oh my god you are so smart. Look at his dad, he went to MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE and he still went to the NFL. Jerry Senior lacked size and track speed too (huge difference between track and football speed). For God's sake he's a redshirt freshman this year and your already predicting his football career? Fuck man, give him a break.

  • @seanlundin52 i think the biggest examples of the difference between track speed and football speed is jacoby ford and barry sanders,

  • and ray lewis jr... and brett favre's cousin as a backup..........later though

  • He red-shirted his freshman year at UCLA which is smart because now he has 1 full year of progression and will now be that much better. Its not his size or ability to burn DB's on a fade route that will benefit but the fact of his Yards After Catch that make him a good receiver. The kid has moves to juke defenders and get that 1st down if needed and more.

  • well hes way faster than his dad lol

  • he plays at UCLA but he hasn't played a game yet

  • he run like his dad jerry "SR" lol

  • It would be crazy to have him and barry sanders jr commit to the same school haha.

  • I played Varsity football at El Camino High School and I was moving the chains when our JV team played against Menlo Schools JV. Rice Jr was playing that game and let me tell you he was not that good his sophomore year. From this video he looks pretty good but let me tell u that the competition from his division is not pretty good as compared to teams from San Francisco, East Bay,Los Angeles and the teams Sanders Jr plays against. Just so u can understand how bad our division is my Senior year(

  • i like how at 1:11 they showed his blocking skillz too hes an all around good player

  • THAT WOULD BE GOOD IF NICK MONTANA,JERRY RICE JR,AND BARRY SANDERS JR PLAYED ON THE SAME TEAM

  • Damn he's slow. Don't get me wrong, he is a great football player like his dad. But I guess they just have the slow gene or something.

  • hes a beast but barry jr is an animal its exciting to knw we will be able to see them hopefully in the near future

  • Why are there no 2010 highlights!!! Is he in college yet!?!?

  • hahaha that first clip is at my school. thats the year we won the mcal championship

  • is this in menlo hes playing

  • yeah i wanna see some down field blocking and route running. big jerry ran every route his hardest even when the ball wasnt going to him. and he was probably the best blocking receiver which just as important as catching the ball.

  • im scared if barry jr and nick montana and jerry rice jr all on the same team that would be crazy

  • Looks like a hell of a TEAM player and handles himself with CLASS just as his Dad did. Hope he stays that way and he WILL be one to watch!

  • Too small and too slow.

  • @austkeat u a stupid ass hater, he is in highschool and is 5'11, he has room to grow and his speed is not that bad off. Man haters disgust me. Go to hell ass hole!

  • This kid is the real deal!!!!

  • Only Air Force offered him a scholarship (he declined) - he is now a walk on for UCLA.

He doesn't have great speed like his father, but unlike his father, Jr. is only 5'10" -- Sr. is 6'2". No speed and no size... do not expect big things from him.

  • @2taggs2 his father came out of college with a reported 4.7 speed, not exactly great speed u don't know what u r talkin about

  • @monkles11

Yeah. If he EVER makes an NFL team I'll buy you a house.

    Sr. was 6'2" - not 5'10"

  • @2taggs2 desean jackson is 5'10 and hes one of the best receivers in the nfl, brandon banks is about 5'6" 149 pounds and hes in the nfl, there are tons of running backs in the nfl under 5'11, santana moss 5'11, chad hall 5'8", percy harvin devin hester both 5'11" should i keep going?

  • @thetenzintsung

Yes. Please do keep going... all of those players have 4.3/4.4 speed.

Does Jerry RIce, Jr.? If he has that kind of speed, then of course he has a shot -- but you can't teach speed. Should I keep going?

  • @2taggs2 you forget that his dad didnt have great speed either but a lot of other players did, with hands like that just throw it up and 90 percent of the time guys like that will come down with the ball. It reminds me of Sidney Rice, he doesnt have 4.2 speed but he gets the job done better than a lot of other recievers. Still wanna argue that its all about speed? Larry Fitgerald.

  • @winkly55

It is one or the other - if you don't have speed, then you have to have size to make up for that.

He does not have size or speed, so how in the word could that translate in being a good WR in the NFL?????????

  • @2taggs2 If thats the case then why is Hines Ward still playing in the NFL? He's barely 6 feet tall and not too fast either and hes still one, or at least WAS one of the most productive recievers in the NFL. Mind you he is getting a few years on him now, but still... I'm not saying Speed and size doesn't help and isn't desired... I'm just saying you can make it work if you're telented enough.

  • @winkly55

Jerry Rice, Jr. is a WALK ON! He could not even get a scholarship from a big school.

Hines ward played for Georgia -- and was not a walk on.

FACE IT, Jerry Rice, Jr. is not big, is not fast, and if he was any good, I am sure he would not be a walk on. If some how he ever makes an NFL team, I will eat my words - BUT THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

  • @2taggs2 Haha im not saying he will, Im just saying it happens... I know as good as you do that the only reason he's even on the roster is because of his name.

  • @2taggs2 weird he seems pretty solid.. i dont think his dad was very good in highschool college either.

  • @2taggs2 not big, i agree. but not fast? you must be drunk

  • @2taggs2 So if your son said he wanted to play in the NFL despite not getting and scholarships from colleges would you tell him to give up his dream? There are walk-ons that went on to have successful NFL careers. Give the kid a chance.

  • @thabest1995

I would support his collegiate career.. If my son didn't get any scholarships and was delusional in thinking he could make the NFL - I think good parenting would be to be honest and realistic with your child.

I'm not saying it is impossible to make the NFL being a walk-on -- but the odds are astronomical.

BOTTOMLINE: JERRY RICE, JR. WILL NEVER PLAY IN THE NFL.

  • @2taggs2 He wants to play major college football. I have no reason to think that his family wouldn't be able to pay tuition. He's trying to play major D1. I don't see any problem with that. After three-four years he can decide on whether or not he wants to take that path. Meanwhile he'll get a degree. And plus its hard to argue his lineage. Maybe could be a late bloomer a la Clay Matthews.

  • @2taggs2 lol, why you hating on the guy so much, i think your just mad because you couldnt even walk on because you were cut lol

  • @JenkBigQ

I don't hate the kid -- I'm just being realistic with people. I'm sure he is a great athlete, but not NFL material.

  • @2taggs2 how the hell do you know are you a scout?

  • @2taggs2 u don't know that, at this point in his career his dad wasn't considered NFL material either, his dad didn't even get recruited to any big D1 or what we call FBS schools, he went to a school in the SWAC conference, so who knows, if u an athlete you got a chance, and being jerry rice's son, he'll at least get the benifit of doubt, he looks like a better athlete than sr to me, but NFL ain't all about being the best athlete it's about being heady, and takin' advantage of oppurtunities

  • @2taggs2 they didnt hv that in high school

  • Man, you can just tell his old man is working hard to instill those WR instincts he had. If he keeps his head on straight, he may not reach to levels his dad did, but he'll at least end up a big name in the NFL, he just has to work like his pops.

  • Damn!

  • He's a good player, but wat really stands out is that he was blocking not alot of HS wideouts will do that and one play he blocked 2 guys. Thats one of those things that is the mark of a good fundamental player

  • Please, sweet merciful God, let him be a 49er too....

  • Definately his father's son. Hope to see him playing in a niner's uniform some day!

  • Wow! He looks great! Donovan Lee #21 from California will be in college the same time as Jerry Rice, Jr. Take a look and leave a comment about what you think about the video. Thanks and wish you the BEST!

  • idk why but the kids of football legends dont work out in the nfl but jerry jr is being coached by the best wr ever so its all good

  • kids got skills

  • Nick montana,Barry sanders jr, And jerry rice jr. Its going to be great to see there NFL carreer unfold if they make it in the nfl which if they keep working hard i believe they will

  • stuntin like is daddy LOL!!!

  • Is this high school football?

  • lmao the ref at 1:35

  • Wow hes good

  • Wouldnt it be sweet if he played in the nfl with Nick Montana?!?!?!?!?!?!? History repeats itself.

  • and with Barry Sanders Jr. too!

  • @Adema1226 dont forget deion sanders jr too

  • @Adema1226 stfu you stupid bitch that won't happen!!

  • @Adema1226 hes talking about the 49'ers not the lions.

  • @23Sb77 That would be so sick lol! Like super epic would break all of there father's records

  • @23Sb77 exept nick montana sucks

  • cant wait to see him and barry sanders in the NFL!

  • nothin special

  • our jv team played em n he was good but nothin special. his paps rolled up in a heli

  • hes really good, have u guys seen barry sanders son?

  • We played them last year but I was on JV and it was a hell of a long ride back home so I didn't see much of this kid playing on the field. Nice talent though I guess...

  • Best part of this clip were the blocks. Just like his old man. I don't think most fans realized that almost every single long running play during Jerry Sr.'s 49ers and Raiders career were ran behind Rice.

Six years ago, in college, I wrote my term paper of my persuasive writing class on why Rice is the greatest football player of all time. Spent one paragraph talking about why he was the greatest pass catcher ever, and the rest talking about other stuff, like blocking. Got an A.

  • look ... what everybody is forgetting is this. Jerry Rice came out of Itta Bena MS. The valley. and noone thought he would compete on the same level as someone who came out of UCLA or ND or Miami. She shattered them all, ALL!!! it dosent matter where JR. goes if he is good he's good

    Think people think

  • he is amazing.!! he will be the #1 recruit coming out of high school and a lock for the hall of fame when he goes pro

  • are u high

  • Its a little early to say hes a lock for the hall.

  • yeah no shit...765squat must be suckin cock while he's down there...i mean seriously a "lock" for hof. needs to some smokin that mess

  • your a fucking idiot just because he is doing good in high school and is the son of jerry rice doesnt mean he got a "lock" in the hall of fame. do you pay attention to football?

  • where does he play and what college is he going to/is going to?

  • God. Is it daycare in here?

  • Is he goin to college this year? or Senior year.

  • i just c a lot of haters on here da man has talent his father had talent

  • man we played them they suck jerry only had 80yds no touchdowns, and those refs were dumb that was no even a fumble the ball crossed the pylon

  • SHP shat on Menlo twice this year and Jerry didnt do shit. If he can't do shit vs Alex Siegel he can't do shit at the college level.

  • man jerry rice jr and his whole team knows that if they played lowell a second time that season they woulda got fuckin spanked because the only reason they won the first time was because of that dumbass call that took away a touchdown from lowell

  • lol one bad call was the reason you guys lost but if yall played again you would kill them...

  • Waaaaa... thats all we hear... waaaa....

  • wow lowell is a fucking joke

your offensive scheme is a disgrace to football

pass the ball once then try talking shit

  • as a ravens fan i think i hate jerry rice just as much as i hate any player on the shittsburgh squeelers

  • would that be the same shittsburgh squeelers that beat you 3 times this year

  • fuck you bitch whos your team?

  • ummm that one team who raped baltimore 3 times this season ummm who r they o yeah the shittsburgh squeelers haha

  • that play where he throws 2 blocks ...AWESOME...

  • he looks like a beast. Is he playing good comp?

  • he played woodside and we smacked them

  • Comment removed

  • makes TN look like shit. he dicked on us that night.

  • I have heard reports that Jerry's isn't the fastest. I would argue and say that your eyes deceive you. Smooth runners who produce longer more powerful strides often times don't look as fast, but are the type of receivers that fool defensive backs because speed isn't a matter of sight, its a matter of get from point A to point B in fast time. You will see Jerry Jr, doing to some great stuff at UCLA.

  • hes walking on at ucla

  • i think this is a cop out im talking to jerry rice sr he knows the teams his son is playing against are garbage his son is pretty talented but come on up the competition a little like barry sanders son playing for the oklahoma state champs they played high level teams chris carter son florida state champs high level competition ha hell even will smith son cali state champs even tho he was on the jv team but anyways if this kid isnt a senior i demand you move to either texas florida or ohio!!!

  • yungvick, California is number one in sending prospects to the NFL by a large margin over Texas and Florida. Rice Jr.'s team just isnt big enough or good enough to win a championship.

BTW: Rice Jr. committed to UCLA yesterday. It was in the Palo Alto news.

  • oh i didnt know that thats good tho i guess we all have to sit back and wait and see what can he do in a nice size power conference lik the pac10 i wish him the best just in this vid the comp doesnt look up to par

  • what class is he?

  • Nice blocks... nothing amazing.

  • Nice blocks... Nothing Amazing...

  • He's good but the competition looks really weak IMO.

  • if runs those bay area hills forward and backwards he can go as far as he wants to go!!

  • I can't wait till this kid goes to college (and possibly pro)

Jerry Rice has always been my favorite player.

  • people fakin on this video are haters--this dude can ball

wherever he gets offered he will probably deserve it. it won't be a situation like where darrell green's son jared got offered by uva just because of his lineage

i love darrell green but jared sucks at football

  • Where's highlights of the MA and Woodside games? Two best teams on the penninsula.

  • overrated, the teams he played against are weak as fuck. Also, I don't see any highlights from MA games, the team who dominated that division including Menlo.

  • Jerry Rice Jr is incredibly over-rated, I know from the experience of playing against him. The only reason he is getting so much ink is that he is Jerry Rice's son, if that wasn't the case, you wouldn't have even heard his name. The people in this division are incredibly weak too, their school decided to bitch and move up a division only to get smacked by almost every team. FUCK MENLO

  • So...did he score against you guys?

  • were here waitin for u in san fran

  • is he really jerry rice's son?

  • Come to the U of A...You'll fit right into our Passing Game!

  • Was up man... I'm Joe Rices sons nephew from Cleveland.... Nice Highlight tape. Check Out "John Edwards football" (youtube)Get back.1.

  • i go 2 school wit him 2

  • What grade is he in?

  • i go to school w/ him...it says enough

  • get em jerry we will be waiting 4 u in San Fran

  • He is incredible :) I wonder which colleges are interested in him.

  • I think a better question is why would any colleges not be interested!!!! Looks like he could do it all. Nice block at 1:17, college scouts will love that.
