@amalqhad as long as the hair isnt too heavy or too tight, your hair will grow. I keep my braids in for 2 months

I did the Big Chop last week myself. I decided I didn't want any more chemicals. My hair extended a little bit past my shoulders but had thinned over the last few years after a series of stressful life changing experiences.

Along with renewing my spirituality, detoxing my body, choosing a more healthy lifestyle (more fruits/veggies, less processed foods), I wanted to emancipate myself. It's about 2 inches now. I'm thinking about the coils. I feel brand new!! Here's to new beginnings...

I'm so excited for you...i'm aproaching one year of being natural too..i did the bc last october and i'm AMAZED along with everyone else how much my hair grew in such a short time. My mom did her BC recently (earlier this month) and my sister is currently transitioning...we need to keep on inspiring our black sisters like this...being natural is beautiful and healthy
