    trigger_once, Flagged to where only npcs trigger it. Env_Explosion, and on the in the i/o of the trigger.. ontrigger>exp1>explode.

  • its a tool used to make levels and mods for the source engine games (half life 2, counter-strike source, left 4 dead etc...)

  • @ranexier Source SDK is a game developement kit provided by *Valve Software* with any source game you get "half life 2, counter strike: source, Team fortress 2, portal etc." You can develope your own mod, and game essentially with these tools. It takes some practice and lots of time to learn many many things. But in the end it's very much worth it! Thats basically what source sdk is. Every thing you need to make a mod/game in your own image.

  • Or you can just create a map for your own use/fun, share it or create a map for multiplayer online. e.g. Counter-Strike: Source

  • Source SDK is a tool/Program for making your own maps for games made by VAlve.

    Unfortunatly, some games are hard to make maps for.

    If you have HL2 and Css go to "Tools" in your steam window and you should be able to locate it. ;)

  • kk. Other players will be able to see them though, you just need to make it so that when they download the map they also download the item (tree). I don't know how to do it though. I believe it's almost the same as adding a custom sound file.

  • That's illegal to do. You can't give people trees that valve made. Because they may not have the game.

  • The elevator is NOT solid, so i made a func_brush around the walls and the floor of the elevator. Made the button parented to them. Why would you need a func_door? but yeah you would need a few brushes with nodraw or something on them so you dont fall through. If you need more help, add me to steam.

  • Info_node tells zombies/ground npcs like combine etc to attack/ where to go. An info node tells where they are and where they can walk once they see you. So a map with info_node's and zombies will work fine.

  • how did you make it so that when the npcs (or perhaps the player) walked over the mines they exploded? perhaps a trigger w/ env_explosion flagged to allow npcs to activate it?

  • Env_explosions all named different, about 50 different triggers, Tedious process. Flag to Clients and NPC's in Trigger for who can activate it and. OnTrigger>Mine1"randomname">ex­lode. Just like that.

  • It was a setting on the Func_button

    In flags tab it says spark, or sparks, just check it and it will spark.

  • The whole elevator is One prop.. just so it doesnt cause problems for mis-understanding that. And it is no draw indeed, parented to the elevator. The elevator is NOT solid, so i made a func_brush around the walls and the floor of the elevator. Made the button parented to them. If you need more help, add me to steam.

  • npc_fastzombie, npc_zombine, npc_zombie its in hammer editor where lights, env_explosion, etc are :) just place and play.

  • bad speller much? haha. None of my work is up for downloads.. if you are talking about my screen recorder. its a built in camera :) just need to learn to use it. In console type record, record game. then when you are done type stop then type start movie "and the movies name you want it to be" and then type playdemo game or play demo game. After that and it is done previewing it "make take long time. Type end movie. then use vitual dub to compress all TGA files into an AVI. still need help? PM me

  • how to you create an evevator using props not brushes

  • Actually you do use brushes to make it solid. The walls and floors are not solid so i make nodraw brushes around walls and floor. Then i make them all one big func_brush. then i put a block of nodraw on button then one more block of nodraw on the floor under the elevator. Finally make the one under the ele func_moveliniear and up or down or where ever. Then make the button one a Func_button and say

    Onpressed

    ele1

    setposition

    with a parameter override of 1

    Remember to parent all func_brushes :D

  • No, It is just a trigger once and an env_explosion. And in trigger the flag is set to NPC only and then for the imputs it would be like

  • You had NPC triggers and explosions, rather simple, but it be nice to see the mines on the ground or trip wires.

  • hey my sdk doesnt work for gmod.. all of the views in the 4 screens dont have grids or anything. do u no y?

  • lol. Dont use a gmod setting, Use ep2 or ep1 if not that then hl2. Make sure in your camera veiws you have grids checked to where you can see and in the top left box is the camera port. you place a camera enitity in there and it should show what you have made thus far. message me for more help.

    went into the hl2 engine style (not orange box) and chose any of them. then i went to tools then options then added GARRYS MOD 10 and filled out everything... but are u saying to make it under half life two and then just extract it to the garrysmod maps folder?

  • Yes. Do what ever game thats most updated "ep2" or if you have to ep1 if not that hl2.
