Great honest review from these guys. Dude i used to LOVE the ps1 spyro games. Its only really after insomniac sold off the franchise no other studio has been able to bring the same level of standards that the first trilogy brought. R.I.P Spyro.

If you thought this was bad, try playing the DS version. There's enemies in there that continually spam you with attacks and none of your breaths affect it. So you have to try and dodge them, but they are tall and can attack from the second they get on screen and keep attacking at the speed of light, so it's hard to dodge them.

in my opinion i think "spyro: a hero's tail" was better than the PS1 trilogy and the reboot trilogy. it had the BEST controls, 5 playable characters, it wasn't a reboot, and the final boss was EPIC

@MRcomics09 Well it sort of is do to a few things, one being the voice acting that was just bad. I gett that Vivendi tried to do a Crash Twinsanety and I did find some jokes kinda funny butt it did not work for me. I mean Crash is already a perody of him self or was, butt I did not think it fit Spyro. A parody is the last thing you make in a seris, when the joks are old and you feel that there is room for one last run and so you make a parody to high light it´s golden moments and "Honor" it.

@arbitor365 I agree, I hated the LOS series, I thought they were a travesty. Spyro is supposed to be young, cocky and like able. The game is supposed to be simple in the story, game play and the characters. I hope this new Spyro game may be reminiscent of the good Spyro games. I played each LOS game for about 30 minutes becuase I hated everything about them. I'm buying all of the good Spyro games from the very first to the last one before the LOS saga. :)

I don't know why he's making such a big deal about flying. I never had that kind of problem. A friend of mine even said it was one of the best flying mechanics in a game he's played. Also, the whole 'God of War' clone argument really does not hold up any more becuase half the games today are GoW rip-offs and some are actually pretty good like Dante's Inferno or Sonic Unleashed (yea, that's right. I liked Sonic Unleashed). I'm sorry but the whole GoW rip-off thing just doesn't hold up now.

Dawn of the Dragon is far too repetitive and boring.  It's one dimensional if you will. I like puzzles, but not when they're within EVERY mission for a game such as this. I should also mention that the enemies are nearly impossible to destroy without coming close to death. This then makes it very unpleasant. There's a way to make changes without leaving behind the elements that made the franchise original. Simple as that. Going over board? DotD is a perfect example of that.

ok the original spyros are a total diffrerent series from the legend of spyro games. Yes thats my opinion but you cant compare them to eachother. It is dark i admit that but it's suppose to be because of whats going on in the game. Flying is a pain and u have to learn how to use it still its a big help from the games that don't have them fly. I give the game 7.5 out of ten after playing but the storyline and the emotions they give the characters are flawless.

He is very right about the flight mechanics. Sometimes when i'm trying to get to a high platform, I'm always diving under it. But sometimes you have be flying to it from a specific location which is just.... wierd. X(

one last thing i forgot to mention is that if u've played all 3 games it's like u feel a bond coming between all these characters throughtout the series and finally for all those hard core spyro fans out there this is a very emotional game for them near the end of the final game. You can't review these games alone u have to review the whole series as a whole to really appreciate it.

no one gives this game a fare review because yes the puzzles can be annoying to figure out but at least it's not like the davinci code where hou have to backtrack every five minutes. the gameplay is fun and it ha a solid story line. As for spyro growing that is a little puzzling but after three years some physical chanes had to have happened. So in all with game play and storyline without the graphics or controls i score it 8.5 out of 10 may seem a little high but after 9 games its great

I do agree they did make this darker, but it wasn;t the same designer from the first two the designer for this one was Etranges Libellules which i think no one knows. At first when i saw spyro like twice the size from eternal night i was wtf you dont grow while frozen in cyrstal but it was the designer change (when i found out i kicked myself for being so stupid) but yeah they made this way darker and way two short or fast it didnt take long to beat. I did like this game though it was fun.

Sometimes they were right, but i think it's not this bad.

The graphics for exemple were very beautyfull, the sound and actors were good and sometimes it made fun to beat the crap out of everything or just flying around.

I had no real problem with the flying part and i think it was really easy to control spyro in the air. Only the air fights were too long and verry agrovating and the fact, that you had invisible borders.

The story was LOTR like, but i think they kind of had to make something like that, because it's the last "Legend of Spyro" so it has to be a litle darker and there have to be some big, no huge beasts and bosses to show, that the world is now under conrol of evil.

They were right, that there is not much humor in it and they tried to put in a romance, which shows they try to make something new.

The first game came out like around 10 years ago! People who truely GREW-UP with the series have to be in their pre-teen and/or teen years (like me), so the fact that it's dark is a GOOD thing for people who want to see this in a video game about a dragon. @GamersReviewer it's a matter of opinion. To this game reviewer they were the worst mechanics of all time. The original games had good flight controlls, I agree with you there, but they did the wise thing and kept it to arenas intead of mixing it with the platforming. As for not finishing the game, neither of us knows if they finished it or not, so you really can't say that for sure. Anyway, I would bet that they played enough to get a good idea of what the game is like at least.
