  • @rizien alright well Ive never heard anyone say anything about how it handles on the steep double diamond runs. Right now I'm stuck between 2 boards.. Gnu pickle and never summer proto ct

  • @nmflanders that's going to be my new setup I think. How well does the gnu hold up on all mountain?

  • @Mr3ggy Wish I could tell you, the only mountain I rode with it was Snowshoe, which doesn't really compare to out west. It held up on the ice like a dream, and when Snowshoe had some deep powder it was great. But for a real mountain I can't be sure, I don't see why it would be a problem though.

  • I can do pretty clean 5s and 7s on my '11 pickle with union forces definitely a big air board imo

  • sweet air, your stance seems a little wide.

  • @fiddle02 they say wider helps spin more but its really all about what your comforterable riding like

  • Well, I ave the unfortunate condition of living in Cincinnati...so the biggest I've hit on it was around 50-55ft, and it was fine with that...though I broke the fucking thing on a botched jump where I went corked and never got my feet back under me...

  • @rizien i live in mi and all we got is about 25- maybe 30 ft jumps at biggest. id love to have a 55

  • @Ryloveland11 It doesn't happen often, but look up Perfect North's Pink Flamingo Camp, it happens once a year and they build a lot better terrain than they have during the season, because you have to sign a waiver to access the park, so it doesn't mess with their insurance policy. It's a bit of a drive, but if you really want some better terrain it's worth checking out.

  • You hit big jumps on that?? I got a Machete, my first reverse board. Its sick but feels a little loose on big stuff, is that something you get used too?

  • @TheDirtball69 lib tech got magnatraction, and the park pickle isnt super super flexy, so making it a more stable park/ all mountain banana

  • smooth man

  • goofy ass mutha fucka

  • nice job. want a cookie?

  • I hate it when you press Space bar right before the best part of the video and it skips to the bottom of the page

  • I recorded this :-P

  • @urtooez And when I get my new snowboard you better record some more, this clip is literally the only footage we had last/2 seasons(?) ago

  • holy shit is this perfect north

  • @BassDude9876 Indeed it is, you ride there?

  • @rizien hell ya bro with my school we hav a club that goes down there about four times a year. me and my friend started the club and i actually got passed

  • The biggest jump my hill has (I'm in cincinnati, it sucks) was 40 feet, and it had no problem with it. I've heard others saying banana boards can't handle big kickers (like 50-70ft) but I don't see why the pickle couldn't handle them, based off what I've seen.

I think most people say that it can't handle the landing and gets squirrelly, which I could maybe see, but I didn't have any problems on our 40 ft jump (counting how far you go over the knuckle may make it more like 45ft maybe 50 at most)

  • @rizien doesnt really matter what kind of board u got if u are gonna charge

  • @ajb557 Yea, but there are some little things that go into a board that can make it less squirrelly on big impact landings. I just haven't hit anything bigger than 50 feet to really experience/need it. I do hear other people making those kind of claims on banana tech, but whether or not they've ridden one is up in the air.

  • hey can this thing do big jumps easily thanks man

  • i want a park pickle. i have a carbon credit now

  • hella smooth

  • just got my pickle in today :) .. looks so awesome! I cant wait for it to snow so I can try it out!!

  • I also have one more question :) .. how do you go about de-tuning the magne edges ? does the board come de tuned or will I need to round off edges myself ?

thanks a bunch rizien - you are a great help!!

  • @shr0omer You'll have to detune yourself, Though you may not need to, I only ever had problems on frontside boardslides, where i was probably leaning too far back, and/or our shitty park crew had rusty rails.

But I only had that problem once and it was on a rustier rail of the park, but I'd recommend detuning the heel edge anyway if you're gonna be doing frontsides, I just never got around to it.

  • @rizien cool thanks alot man! you've been a great help! :) cant wait for the season to come around!! .. hope to see some more footage from you this season too!

    thanks dude

  • @shr0omer for sure man, no prob, i hope to cop some footage this year too, last year i got broke off on a rail and had a gnarly concussion, and thats alllllll I got footage of last year...

  • I'm 5"11 and about 140lbs .. any help would be much appreciated! thanks alot! .. awesome 360 btw! looks hella clean!

  • @shr0omer Yea I'd say you'll be perfectly fine. Thanks for the compliment, too bad I'm getting older every year, wish I was doing those when I was 16 not 23....

  • @rizien Cool thanks :) think I will be ordering one of these for this season!! .. ya, I know what ya mean.. Im turning 22 in december and only just learned how to 3 but I'm guna go all out this season :) maybe get some footy uploaded myself..

    thanks for your help! :)

  • will i fit on their new 153 (2011) board with size 11 boots ? I'm pretty sure I'll be fine right ? ,, thanks.

  • @shr0omer I can't be sure, how tall/how much do you weigh? They run a little wider than your average board, so I Imagine you wouldn't have any problems, but i also can't make a guarantee

  • how does this thing handle rails with the Magnetraction? really considering getting this board, but i do alot of rails

  • @ch715dallat I was sketched about rails at first too, but it handles them just as well as normal sidecut boards. I never noticed any difference in any of my slides, except presses were easier.

  • @rizien cheers bro, just bought it in a 153, usually ride 156 but it was the last size other than 59 available in the country so hopefully alls good. teamed it up with some union contacts, now i just have to wait til end november to use it: :(

  • im really considering buying this board to get better at jumping because my k2 world wide weapon doesnt hold up on landings that well. so i was just wondering, how well does the pickle do when landing jumps upwards of 30-40 ft?

  • @snowboardinfreak540 It works wonderfully. It's might not be as good as Travice Rice's model that has the stiffer nose/tail for massive booters. But I hit my fair share of 30-40 footers (even a 50ft the ONE time they built that) whenever my park will build them, and I've never had any problems.

  • NICEEEEE DUDE!

  • thats a sweet 360! Well done

  • Doesnt look like you landed that though :P lol

  • Nah I landed, but thats the only angle of me doing anything last year cause it's like pulling teeth trying to get my friends to film...Hopefully this season will be different.

  • doesnt this board have a reduced spin weight or something

  • I'm not sure, the tips are blunt, and not round, so that may help. I'm not sure if I've just gotten better or if this board is just easier, or a little of both, but everything kind of comes easier to me with this.

  • i might get this board it lookss sooo sick. im kinda short so im getting 147 lol

  • Ride 156 with banna boards cause you wanna ride em sorta small

  • SHOULD i ride 156 or 159? im 6' 200pounds ! thks

  • I'm the same, and I ride 156, but I like shorter boards, lends well to faster spins

  • great, well i think i will go 156, i thought i would be too heavy... Can you jib with this bad boy? So anxious to get it this thursday! Thks again for the info and hope i will do great 360 as you did, congrat.

  • Hell yea you can jib this thing, and you can nose/tail press easy as shit, also thanks, this year I'm going balls out and should get way more footage since I have a dedicated videographer now

  • 159

  • The waves are rad, I rode powder on my gnu 2009 park series all season and it has both, and it worked like a dream

  • Just bought mine and can't wait to try it :)

  • What size your Pickle? (no homo) Because i had mega toe/heel dragwith my last board.

    I have size 11 boots

  • 156, and I don't get any heel drag, and I'll only get toe drag if I'm really cranking a turn in deep snow, it rarely happens. Also the asymm helps a little bit

  • so the regular 156 would be alright for me??

  • for sure, ive got size 12 boots and its straight

  • Hows the flex on the Pickle??

    is it easy to press?

  • Very easy, i barely have to try to butter/press anything, and can even go down groomed runs spinning in a butter with ease.

Not as easy as the Rome Artifact 1985 my friend has though, that thing is ridiculous soft, too soft even, I like to think the pickle is a perfect amount of soft, with just enough pop.

  • definitely keep this stick on the ice coast... don't need that wavy shit out here

  • oh Its comin out west at least once this year....I need to ride some real snow and pop off a real cliff

I don't think the wavy shit really effects pow riding, at least not the one day we got dumped on and I got to ride some pow

  • Also, I'm 6'2" and use a size 12 boot

  • How would you rate the skate banana for learning park tricks? I'm currently working my 360's and rails, and I'm kind of sceptical towards the whole wavy edge thing.

  • The wavy edge thing sketched me out at first too, but you don't even notice it and your boardslides aren't going to either.

I learned my 360's on a stiff, too long, Custom X, then I switched to this and it was like going from concrete boots to carbon fiber boots, I was an animal. Then a few falls knocked me back down a notch or two ;)

  • Thanks dude! I'm riding a 156 ftwo now, I'm either going for the btx or the pickle, what would you get for park riding only?

  • Pickle. The pickle was made for the park. Like certain plants thrive in certain climates, the pickle thrives in the park.

    I'm 6'2" and use a size 12 boot too.

  • wavy edges are a must for icy conditions they grab and hold on to your board like a fat guy to chocolate. Theres no going wrong with it

  • I have a skate banana; can you tell me please the difference between the two boards? And the different sidecut how works?

    Thank you.

    p.s.: great jump. :)

  • The main difference is the Magna-Traction, the side of the board between the feet is wavy, like mellow zig-zags, so it grips ice better, the second difference is the Asymmetry, the heel sidecut is slightly smaller than the toe-side, the theory is it takes more effort/leverage to make a heel-side turn, I honestly can't notice the asymmetry when riding though, but maybe its a subtle effect.

thanks, I'm gettin amped about the season....too bad its only august :(

  • Also the banana has the magne-traction, and I now it very well. ;)

Instead I just wanted to know how works the asimmetrical sidecut radius, but if you don't notice the difference, maybe it's just little.

And please don't tell about the season! I missed a 3 days in the glacier in July, and probably I have to wait 'till late november before ride again. :'(

  • im 5-11 and have a size 13 boot my question I wanna get a smaler size like a 154- 156 does it really matter if its a wide board?or not? and is this board good for powder like a foot deep?

  • I've got a size 12 boot and works great for me, my toes rarely if ever catch on my toeside turns. Unfortunately we get real powder out here for like one day a year, but it was butter, no problems with my toes

  • nice i think im gonna go with the park pickle as well... or the sk8 banana.. The k2 parkstar interest me cause they make a 154/wide.. and it has a rocker.. but no magna.. and up here in upstate ny we get icy conditions so magnatraction is prolly the best way to go... thanks for your help...

  • For Upstate NY I'd definitely recommend the Park Pickle or sk8 banana (But the pickle is cooler cause 1/10th of the people own it! haha)

  • kool i hope it dont sell out before I get mine... spent so much money on this "summer" bender.. u recommend and good bindings? there so many to choose from...

  • I've been rocking my Ride Tomcats from a couple years ago and haven't change them since. Theres so many new crazy binding designs, I'm kind of just waiting until these break before I get started with em...so much to choose from

  • It's super soft, but not too soft, not as soft as the Rome artifact 1985, but it's softer than any other board I've ridden, and still pops off hue kickers like nothing.

I certainly think it's worth it, I like it more than the Skate Banana.

  • get some! i really wanna get this board, is it worth it?

  • Sick.

How soft is this board? Do you recommend this board?

  • haha thanks, more videos should be coming soon, bout to have 540's dialed.

  • cooler than fuck!
