I have an older Hyfire I and upgraded to the CoalTrol unit. Best investment, beats anythin on the market, it automatically adjusts feed rate, blower speeds, a lot of manual control too, etc....maintains temps perfectly.
Hello, check out the above video response on how it works. Leisure Line makes them simple yet very reliable. All LL stoves and furnaces come with Coal-Trol. The Coal-Trol is the brain of the unit and based on what temp you want to be comfortable in, it will tell the coal pusher the amount of coal to be pushed. It's a great unit and highly recommended. It's basically a 'set it and forget it'. Only two things to worry about. Emptying the ashes and feeding more coal. That's it.
About adjustment. I've had it for just 2 years and so far the amount of coal on both burners have been equal. One burner doesn't have more or less coal than the other. I believe it will be a long time before they go out of whack, if they do in the first place. Besides, LL has fantastic customer service. They stay behind their products 100% and not just during the warranty, for as long as you have it and it's 100% American made. No foreign parts.
@bernincoal1 yeah speaking of customer support..one of the guys at LL frequents the nepa coal forum and helps folks out - it doesnt get much better than that.
