Guess who is coming to help semi liberals to free themselves, confronts a southern sheriff whit is demons, gives working class kids in England a sense of being more than hooligins? Sidney Poitier was impressive in the roles that he did, Lulu in a way, gave him a beautiful rendering of what he was and the message he gave to all of us about justice, freedom and love.
This song, and the many other super romantic gems of the 60's so influenced me that I later became the husband to 8 women, 5 mistresses and 2 girlfriends. - Dr Joseph Huntington.
no truer word,s were spoken feelgoodaboutit and daverave159. No bongle from the junngle filthy sicking rap noise here nor hick music. Only true class talent elgance someting today,s so called artist do not know and never will except for celtic women group celine deion.
this song is for my husband michael v. nicolosi died 49 years way too young this was our first song we danced to in this black room of music it was so mystical and he is never to be replaced he was the only one that made me happy love you baby.......
The 50,s 69,s were the reatest time for beautiful music 70,s and 80,s to. But look at it now filithy sicking jungle noise and hick music. True class elgance talent the above someting today,s so called artist will never know exceapt for celtic women group and celine deion.
BEAUTIFUL SONG!!! i remember stumbling on this movie way back when i was a kid. rainy saturday afternoon on channel 56 in boston. i thought it was sooo cool. still do!
Oh wow, this really reminds me of K.D. Lange who is an awesome singer. This is great great music. The sounds of the world sure have changed, I wish we could change it back haha. In some ways anyway.
Slightly going on a tangeant here, but I think Mr. Poitier has to rank among the best actors of any colour. Always very classy, and never an Uncle Tom.
@MrTenitis YES! It is a real shame what we fought for in the 60's that never came true.
We fought to stop the VietNam War, We fought for Segregation, We had Two great people assassinated. Now in 2012 we are in deep shit with all the war in the world...
What happened to the 60's generation with what we fought so hard for ? Now the same people are condoning war?
@sixtiesforever1966 I remember right after segregation and right after the Vietnam war was over it seemed like everybody had a chance and then crack came along and pretty much ruined it all. Crime shot up and all the law abiding ex- hippies went right wing. We were all so innocent, experimenting with stuff we didn't understand, we became a lost generation.
Only a brain dead villiage idiote would dislike this song must be related to lady gag gag oop,s ha ha lady ga ga. Must have oatmeal for brain cell,s the dislikes.
@sophie1065 How right you are. I am just 39 years old. This song came out ahead of me. I'm not a fan of mushy, trendy love songs but I surely like this song. It was able to capture something that happens in a school environment and it was able to capture it from a cute perspective. Not in a mushy way. I saw the film just 5 years ago.
@sophie1065 anyone who dislikes this song should be shoot! this is Lulu and she made our world better with this gem classic! i have spoken and i am king! long live Lulu!
@1011kam hey 101kam dont,t worry about my spelling could,t care less about your opion. I stand by what i think this lady was class elgance talent all the way. No filithy sicking bongle from the jungle noise here nor hick music. Alady who knew how to act like a lady and dress like one. Total class elgance talent unlike a lot of today,s so called female artist. Again only a brain dead idiot would not like this. Who does not know the meaning of talent class elgance and never will
@sophie1065 not worried one bit about your spelling friend. I actually enjoy the laugh when I read such incoherent dribble. And that's MY "opion". By the way. I am old enough to remember the movie and I did (still do) enjoy the music. Thanks for playing along.
@1011kam Hey dipstick 101ikam reading your last comment about my opion. Again i could,t care less about your opion. I lnow class talent elgance when looking at it. Whichh is someting you dont,t know and never will. Also let me say sometine ele as for yor opion again I dont,t have to tell you were to go with it and what to do with it when you get there do i. I think your dipstick self can fugire that out or am I mistaken about that dipstick
@sophie1065 Wow, I just "fugired" out that I must have hurt your feelings. I'm sorry. Please tell me again how superior you are. On second thought, don't. I'm bored with you. It was fun while it lasted though. Have a wonderful day.
Memories...this song is very heart warming. I dedicated this song to my best friend when my parents decided to move away to another City. She is always in my heart.
This song makes you realise that growing up in a way is both a sad and a happy process, but you remember as I do happy memories of school. But only happy after you left! An extreemly touching song that makes you want to search for that selfless love again in you life as an adult
