  • I am so angry, that i can't find drum tobacco lucky strikes in my country i have to travel for it sigh

  • Damn Draper your ads were great!

  • makes me hungry lol. It`s toasted hmm toast

  • Such beautiful opening music for cancer sticks.

  • @chrisman737 just like those mcdonalds and burger king ads for those heart stoppers, i mean burgers.

  • What I don't get is tobacco and alcohol kills hundreds of thousands of people per year, and yet marijuana isn't legal? Who or what has marijuana ever killed?

  • @SpazChat

    Tobacco business.

    And alcohol.

You know: free market and competition. :-)

  • @SpazChat it`s not the weed it`s the addiction it brings, like many people mug old ladies/men for money for weeds/drugs.But i see your point.

  • @N9T9F1ake um cigarettes are way more addictive than weed believe me i quit everything the only thing i still do is smoke cigs. ur retarded

  • @N9T9F1ake ..People don't mug people for weed lol. Weed isn't physically addictive

Also @SpazChat Smoking in general will give you health problems. But you're less likely to punch someone out on Weed, and you're not going to get the shakes when you don't get Weed.

  • I <3 Lucky Strike O

    It's toasted <3

It's what's on the INSIDE that counts.

REAL tobacco taste...and PLENTY of it. Tobacco is our PASSION and a great smoke is our PROMISE.

    IT'S LUCKIES.ENJOY.

  • Don sold me on them. I tell you what in another time and place, Lucky Strike would hit a home run with him as their pitch man.

But in a way, that's exactly what happened.

That first episode of Mad Men I believe was the best, most dramatic cigarette commercial ever aired.

Want to look like Draper? Live like Draper? Have a wife like Draper?

Gotta smoke like Draper. Lucky Strike - It's Toasted.

  • dose any one know if i can find the old Lucy Strike package like in this video are they still pruducing this :S

  • @bllabllabllaedheblla well the old vintage green ones they made before ww2 i can find them here in denver colorado but the white pack in the commercial is the default color if u find luckys it will most likley be in the white red and green pack

  • the american soft pack was always cooler (before the cancer thing of course)

  • lsmft HA

  • I checked my whole pack of cigarettes, but could not find the LS/MFT inscription. Too Bad.

  • @HansHerman1 its on the foil tab u pull off

  • @beisetsu It's not on my Pack Either....

  • what do they mean when they say its toasted??? they toast it????

  • @DrumCoalitionWithWar They put it in their toaster and that is how it goes :D haha! no, seriously, I don't have a clue^^

  • @DrumCoalitionWithWar People think they just sun dry tobacco, but in truth they sun dry it then they toast it. Toasting means to put it over fire and cook it.

  • @DrumCoalitionWithWar You have to watch the Lucky Strike TV show. - First ever Mad Men episode.

  • i left a bar once and two girls outside asked me for a cigarette, i flipped two luckies and ill never forget the look on their faces

their first thought was "where is the filter"

    their second thought was "gross"

my thought was "more for me"

  • @mfg0308 Oh god that makes me so mad

  • @mfg0308 My fav cigarettes. And filterless is the way to go!

  • dub a dub dub a dub a dub a dub a

    SOLD American.

    Pmsl

  • Cancer that is not toasted or cancer that is toasted -- either way, it's still cancer.

  • @chrisman737 cancer is a development some people get as a result of many decades of heavy smoking has nothing to do with the cigarette itself. There's nothing wrong with smoking as long as you don't abuse it. I'm tired of people jumping to the conclusion that if you smoke you must smoke 4 packs a day or want to kill yourself.

  • Many decades of heavy smoking has nothing to do with the cigarette itself? The cigarette itself can cause cancer. People have no idea what is in cigarettes -- tar, nicotine, ammonia, all kinds of crap. If you enjoy filling your lungs with crap, then go ahead, be my guest. But I prefer a wonderful substance called Oxygen. It's great. You ought to try it sometime.

  • I didn't say it had nothing to do with the cigarette I just said it isn't the cigarette but the action that can lead to it if done too often.

  • @Luigi84289 , of course it is the cigarette. The action is smoking the cigarette. Cigarettes are meant to be smoked. The exist for no other reason than to be smoked. So it is the cigarette, like it or not. The cigarette and the action of smoking are pretty much the same.

  • Don Draper would be proud!

  • @peace2baby lol I love that show. No one I know watches it though. It was nice to see a reference to it here.

  • does it sttill say ls/mft on the modern packs of lucky strike?

  • yes it does :)

  • yeah on the bottom

  • I'll check out tomorrow.

  • Its toasted (not sun dried)

  • how many cigarettes does one of those large tobacco leaves make?

  • 2 billion

  • It's so funny that people think that mad men just organically hit upon this idea. It's called research. They obviously research tobacco advertising in the 50's and 60s and integrated the idea and slogan.

  • lol im s

  • wow - mad men is really accurate.

  • it's not. The show takes place in 1960, the slogan "It's Toasted" came about in the 1910s.

  • @sinceyoudied yup lucky strike was one of Camel's original competitors. That's why they are the best unfiltered. Not meant to have a white sponge on the end.

  • I must have missed that episode, 'neal'- but why would 1960 ad executives watch an "old" commercial? Incidentally, the narrator is long-time "Luckies" announcer Andre Baruch...

  • ALL tobacco is "toasted" before they're fashioned into cigarettes- but George Washington Hill, the man who guided American Tobacco {Luckies' manufacturer} from 1925 through 1946, knew the value of a good slogan, and made sure the words, "It's Toasted", were prominently displayed on the package, as well as "L.S./M.F.T." on the bottom of each pack after 1944...this is a color commercial [probably seen on "YOUR HIT PARADE"] from the mid-'50s.

  • That is not true! All tobaccos is not toasted! Like Camel Cigarettes they are Sun Cured and other cigarettes are cured in other ways! Lucky strickes and camel tastes much different! Try em you will fins differense in both of them!

  • yeah, camels taste like sun dried shit! But in reality, there are other ways of curing tobacco; for instance, swedish snus, a smokless form of tobacco, is steam cured, and i believe that most cigars use sun dried tobacco.

  • i know all that, but c'mon Camels are not so bad!

  • To tell you the truth i have tried a few, and all the camels i have smoked, tasted terrible to me. Now there is a SMALL chance that they might of been menthols, but like i said, every camel i have tried has really not satisfied me.

  • @TK572 There's almost no taste and I could swear there was a hint of peppermint (which I hate). Maybe you have to start out on those or somethin' I just can't stand em'.

  • camels isnt that bad!

snus isnt for me, i prefer smoking lucky strikes.

  • Personally, i like snus, up until it makes me fiercely nauseous and i puke. I would like to note that the snus i tried was Camels take on Swedish snus, and came in a blue tin reading "Camel".

  • Yep, regular Lucky Strikes are STILL the best- tasting cigarette, followed closely by Pall Mall. I'm surprised the manufacturer doesn't promote them more because Luckies have a loyal following - and a long history. Everybody knows "Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco" and "it's Toasted". For mildness and flavor, you just can't beat a Lucky Strike.

  • @nikeshoxman Naw I'd say Marlboro is better than Pall Mall. It's stupid how I have to look all over the place in Texas to find an AMERICAN original!

  • @TK572 I can't stand camels, tried some of their 99's once, gave them away after 3 and bought a pack of Marlboro red 100's.

  • Color commercial in the mid 1950's? I bet very few households had a color TV to see it in color

  • This was featured in episode of MadMen! So cool.
