  • Sounds like its really hard to the high notes for elton. My voice deepens when i have laryngytis can barely shout.

  • IT's so slow.

  • Just seasoned and improved!

  • Sounds like he's dying on here.

  • he should have played at the favelas with lula da silva, two fuckin fats .

  • @youngaefans you must be deaf if you say there is no difference in his voice now and back in 80s.

even though the song is so much slowed down, he barely catches his breath after the high notes.

he is an icon, but nowhere close to his glory days. his money voice is almost gone.

  • @lk1407 It's important to remember that he underwent serious surgery to remove nodules from his vocal chords - after which it wasn't guaranteed that he would ever sing again. There's definitely a difference [it's now a lot deeper], but I like to think that his voice has matured a lot. Also, he's getting a lot older - and how many people his age do you know who can sing like that? :)

  • well shame you of making a concert in Israel as apartheid country shame on you as gay !!!normally gays r for peace !!! i bet that u gonna loos many of ur fan !!

  • @abercrombiecgn, Elton will not lose me :p

  • @abercrombiecgn I assume you are talking about another concert as this is Brazil. But Israel isn't an apartheid country and I don't think being gay is an issue to do with where he plays and even if it was, so what? He's playing for the people, not to the government and seriously, your spelling and grammar is just so bad, get a dictionary

  • @abercrombiecgn Fuck off

  • @abercrombiecgn At this point now.. I think the guy can do pretty much what he want.. He won't lose anyone for it. So you know.. Don't turn your life upside down for it. Breathe and it's all gonna go away and you're gonna be able to move on with your life ;)

  • Guy Babylon, WE MISS YOU

  • When I listen this song "I feeling like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid"

cause I (like) Sir Elton John : I'm still standing

    heeeeeeennnnnnn

  • "youcuh nenna know whannit liiiike, blunna likeawinna freedez jus lika ite. In da cole lone light dat shine from you"

  • It's not the key so much as the diction - he sounds like he's got a mouthful of marbles. Maybe he's had dentures fitted? The song is noticibly slower than the previous live versions he's done

  • @77edster you're an idiot.

  • @77edster see version from Warsaw it's much better - it was some days ago!!

  • Wish I knew why he decided to ruin a good performance by singing like an asshole.

  • any one know the next time elton john is coming to glasgow.

  • can't wait to see him in Serbia, woohoo! Go Elton, you rock!!! :)

  • isnt there a new version?

  • He is still one great talent who has stayed strong for over 30 years with his voice and lyrics....

  • There's no point to translating lyrics unless you sing them in that language.

  • at 60 he still sings in the orignal key amazing

  • Are you nuts? He's admitted countless times how MUCH HIS VOICE HAS CHANGED. He said he has to sing a key lower. (Check my latest video for proof.) . Don't try to be "nice" by uttering complete falsehoods.

  • my bad

  • its in the same key but he struggles. he may as well lower all of his songs

  • Yeah, I heard him do "Border Song' live on Conan a few years ago. He sang it much lower throughout. It was OK, but I prefer the original. The only good newer song he's released with his modern lower register was "Believe," I think.

  • @JoeyFudd

Yeah, he had to lower GYBR, but that's basically the only song he lowered down. He sings the rest in the original key.

  • il mange trop m cdo

  • Where are the words to this song? Why he no sing them eh? eh? eh?

  • it does ihave words put in portuguese

  • i was going o his gig last night in sheffield until he cancelled it due an illness :(

  • GUY BABYLON, Brazil never forget you! We miss you forever!!!

  • Anybody who thinks his voice is better or stronger now need their ears checked. Most of Eltons hits from his heyday were based on songs with melodies that required falsetto and vocal range. I think he can still sing similar to the Elton of old, but he plays it safe on stage. Here's a link to Levon from 89 that he sings absolutely fantastic with tons of range. Of course Elton himself says his voice is better now. What's he gonna say, my voice sucks!?!? He has tons of great songs

  • Theres no difference much...The voice is just a bit powerful now....i love it

  • it is more powerful. but he doesnt use his falsetto. i bet he's still got one but doesnt use it because he feels unsure about it. you never lose a falsetto

  • I think people said his voice is no longer good was absolutely rubbish. He can still sing it great.. compared to the 80s, elton's voice is now much more powerful and energetic which is great!!

  • will somebody try and stop press the slowmo button. i know he is 62 but there is no pace in his voice or the song but go on elton for still going on stage and trying to sing

  • he can sing, but he just chose to sing this way.. it's much more powerfull this way

  • Although I have to say I like the alternative low vocal line just after the guitar solo - sounds pretty cool. Perhaps that's a direction he could take?

  • Nice to see singers in the world today relying on their voice and also not lip singing!!

  • Gawd I LOVE this song so, so much!!!!

    Summerbreeze

    ~PLUR!~

  • I think that this was a great performance, definetly one of his best, but I think that the one in ephesus beat this one because of that he performed it alone.

  • maaan, elton looks like 20...so beautiful and cute<3..

    AND a great song...like always :)

  • Despita Elton John's age, and the throat surgery in 1987, i think his voice is better than ever.

He sings SO strong, which also comes across live.!

  • i couldnt agree more!

  • he does look alot younger but his voice is well and truly shot sorry but the truth hurts. he will always be a good piano player

  • Sadly I have to agree with you. He does look cool and he plays incredibly but his voice is well past its best and is quite hard to listen to at times. At least he still has the guts to sing live and not lip-sync! Love Elton!

  • haha. It think it's a bit late for that.

  • What I find interesting is how much more sloppy his annunciation here than it use to be. I've heard Paul McCartney have this similar issue in performances of the last few years. Or maybe Elton just figured "What the heck, I'm in Brazil, who's going to notice anyway?"

  • he sings to close to the mic and mumbles his words

  • Hahahahahaha I love this song, but it's hillarious that the song is sooooo slowed down and everyone including him is so old now. Gray hairs and all LMAO

  • I love Elton John so much... I was there too!! :))

  • 1/2 lipsing ;)

  • tha'ts only cuz the video and audio aren't aligned properly.

  • I WAS THERE

  • Me too!

  • u have any more from this show?

  • Another fantastic performance from Captain Fantastic!! He is looking FANTASTIC for 61!

    Thanks for posting it!

  • 2 months away from 62 :]

  • Yip he is..and he is looking better than ever!

  • MUYYYYYYYYY BUENOOOOOOOO! el jueves lo tenemos nosotros en la Bombonera Argentina. salu2

  • AWESOME PERFORMANCE! Sir Elton keeps getting better and better with age. This is the first 2009 video I've seen. Do you have more?

    Thanks a lot!

  • thank you for another great vid
