I wouldn't mind a new national anthem being played when the TV is closed down, but as an Atheist, and a Republican, I object to being forced to sing a national anthem extolling the values of two things I am fiercely opposed to.

The new government should introduce a law compelling the BBC to play the national anthem at midnight every night and all BBC channels. It would be a popular and almost free piece of legislation and would remind the BBC who they work for. Other countries play theirs even though there is 24 hr TV.

It's just as well we don't have the anthem these days; we'd probably be sued for being British, having our own identity, being proud to be British, being British, being racist, being unpolitically correct, well, anything really.
