This is the first time I'm actually seeing the tornado from that day. I was out with my 3 kids eating right there at On The Border, outside on the patio. They called us in after the power went out but the Tornado had already done it's damage at the Kohl's right down the street. Such a blessing that we were so close and outside but unharmed. We were completely oblivious to the fact that there was a tornado right on the side of us but we couldn't see it.
God, I remember that day; those apartments are just a few *streets* from my old house (though we've moved since then).
I knew it was close, but...damn. If I'd looked out and seen that, I'd have probably pissed myself.
Creepy too, because my grandmother and I had been at the Kohl's a few days before, in the exact part that got trashed...and during the tornado, I happened to be wearing a shirt I bought there that day.
Makes me even happier that my new house has a tornado shelter now.

OMG...we live in the same complex! I was wondering how bad the storm was being that it tore up 1/2 of G'town Pkwy. I was at work in the basement downtown and by the time I got home it cleared up. I tried to tell everybody it was serious...some people came home anyway.
I live near countrywood and I remember the funal goin over my house and then hearing it touch it was scary
