  • I feel pain in my legs just watching this.

  • Good job!

On a much more serious note though, I bet you can't climb all of those hills simultaneously!

  • @kievcyclist LOL! On the ones with grades in the high twenties to low thirties, I know I wouldn't be able to climb one right after the other without catching my breath between climbs. Those are steeper than all but a few of the mountain bike climbs I did in my latest video. I measured grades in the mid twenties on some of them.

  • Your legs must be like tree trunks!

  • @JarvisTheGreat1 LOL! Getting there! This kind of road riding and the mountain biking I've been doing lately are great strength training! :D

  • Great video! and I thought Seattle hills were bad!

  • @sriharsha25 Thanks! :) I've heard about the steeps in Seattle, and I've seen those videos on YouTube of people trying to drive up them when they're covered with ice and snow. Needless to say, that usually doesn't end well. It would be a fun challenge on a mountain bike with studded tires!

  • Great steep climbs! Very good, but try to control your breathing.

  • @climb20percents It was pretty intense effort to climb those 29%-38% hills, so I confess that I wasn't really thinking of controlling it too much. It might get easier once I lose this last 20 pounds ;)

  • Amazing that you did all this on a Bike Friday, not the lightest bike in the world.. What gearing did you have? Kudos for trying that 5 times ... I would have given in after 2.

  • @ca3crown Thanks! :) I have a 24-tooth small chainring and an 8-speed 11-28 cassette, which gives me a 16 inch low gear. I only had to use that lowest gear on Broderick. The rest of the hills in the video were done with second gear (the 24-tooth cog on the cassette).

  • @ca3crown By the way, you should do a sufferfest video down there. Marin Ave. in Berkeley too, which will be dealt with on a future trip. ;)

  • That was just too funny!!!! Pretty damn impressive though if you think about it. Strong climbing!

  • @kgowen4444 LOL! I know! Good memories of the good old days down there with my HardRock at 117 lbs, only this time more hills climbed. Fruitridge! ;)

  • PORN BREATHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kgowen4444 ROFL! Good freight training, ain't it? Gasp!

  • @kgowen4444 Also, did you see me try to hide my freighttrainism from those pedestrians walking downhill while I was going "huh-uh uh", then it sounded real good near the top when I almost went into oxygen debt from that? LOLOL!
