Lowering taxes causes some people to have excess money, thus they will probably spend some of that money and no matter if you're poor, highly paid or own a buisness of some sort that would stimulate the economy at all ends and also generate a lot more charity.
We could call that a stimulus package. Then there is of course also the fact that I don't really find the income tax itself and the way it is collected to be perfectly moral.

That's a shame since the U.S have not had it for a long time now and as an outsider it's easy to see in what shape youre country is today.
Today, in certain aspects, Sweden is a more "capitalist" and certainly freer country.
At the same time The United States and China are walking the same tragic road of corporativistic jurisdiction and suspension of rights. The only difference currently, is that China is traveling in the right direction.

@ToxinalX I believe that Ron Paul, like the other Republican candidates, often caters to special interests, and will probably give corporations more rights than real people (even now, corporations have more rights than people, even though they are not people). He's also spoken against student loans, and a couple of conservative values I already disagree with. I don't believe Ron Paul is racist or too old, and he's far better than the other Rep. candidates, but I still disagree with him.

The Constitution was written on behalf of the individual, not any fictive person in the form of a "corporation".
Corporations are not people (on the contrary to what Romney said), people start corporations or cooporates with other people. It is allways the individual that needs to be held responsible for his actions, not the "corporation".
But he doesn't want to as well as he can't support student loans.

He had his chances to take action in the beginning , but he didn't.
Now all he's doing is turning down the *minimal* budget cuts proposed by the Republicans. (which a lot of people still believe is a good thing to do of course)

@kingkoopman Looking at the problem from my point of view;
Lowering taxes causes some people to have excess money, thus they will probably spend some of that money and no matter if you're poor, highly paid or own a buisness of some sort that would stimulate the economy at all ends and also generate a lot more charity.
We could call that a stimulus package. Then there is of course also the fact that I don't really find the income tax itself and the way it is collected to be perfectly moral.

In the Netherlands the tax is way higher, and in the Netherlands is a good heath care and sort of Basic income guarantee. So I think raising more tax is nessersairy

I live in Sweden so I know that higher taxes generlly results in getting more of *however good it was initially*.
If the system fails, it will do so no matter how much money you put into it. No matter if it is health care or something else.
Obamas plan i find insulting to anyone who doesn't want to pay for that kind of insurance.
The U.S. will soon need to cut the budget in half no matter what.

You want to not pump money into the economy in the recession, you don't want to stop thousands of crimes against humanity in Libya, you don't want to improve the conditions of Iraq after making it devoid of a government, you don't want to help Afghanistan create an infrastructure to defend against Al Queda.
