@zerograv9 Please don't give up! Someday it will happen! Sometimes people have to give their horse away because they can't afford it anymore, or are moving, etc. It happened for me, and it can happen for you! Also, you can lease a horse so that you can ride it and enjoy it without too much expense. There are more options than you think out there! I hope your dream comes true!

There are few people on the earth that can understand the love one can have for their horse - Mine is boarded not too far from home, and even though I can groom and ride her every day, I miss her so much when I'm at home. I cry when I listen to this song, so there's MY drama! My husband is very sweet, and wants to build a barn and paddock for her someday soon so she can be with me all the time :)

@zerograv9 If you already have a barn, you just need some fencing! (just make sure it's for horses, and it's safe) We've found it's not as expensive as we thought! Many people have to give away a horse for different reasons, then you can have one! Mine was given to me because their daughter is going to college, and she is a good-mannered, healthy, sweet horse! Someday soon she'll be at my home, but so glad I can go to be with her every day. Thankyou for the compliment! I love her so much!!!!

I think that now there are many opportunities to get a horse for free through rescue, although use caution on this so that you don't end up with one that is too aggressive. Sometimes, as in my case, there is a family that can no longer afford their horse, and will give it away to someone who will love it with all their heart. Don't give up! You might own a horse of your own someday. Good Luck!

@Gymnastrockout Buying a horse is easy. Taking care of it is a totally different thing. And then the costs. You need a saddle, a bridle, blankets, vet, blacksmith. You name it. And then you can't say 'oh I don't feel like cleaning or feeding today'. There's a whole lot more than just buying or getting a horse.
