I've always wondered about his extended version. I love the new part, and there are some nice vocals from Freddie, but it's like they just couldn't be arsed to properly join it in to the end of the song, the way it suddenly cuts in the middle of the vocal harmonies. Still, it doesn't QUITE stop them being my absolute favourite band of all time.

The beginning of the song is based on Pagliacci's aria Vesti La Giubba. The lyrics "Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!" were replaced on the song with the phrase "I don't want my freedom, there's no reason for living...! Rugerro Leoncavallo would be proud that the greatist singer of all time used his music to create a magnificant song

I'm amazed that Brian May never really gets the kudos he deserves as a guitar player, he's always ranked in the top 20 but to me he's in a class of his own. Infact, nobody really comes close to him in terms of raw emotion. His guitar solos not only take you to another place but they refuse to let you return. The master!
