When you have an official come up to a player and say I'm going to get you back for the game a month ago, don't you think the team coaches or president or GM would bring this up to the NHL?
If this was in baseball or the NFL the owners and staff would go ballistic if an official made a grudge public and potentially cost a game.

The fact that Burrows was fined $2500 (an absolute joke relative to his salary) and nothing is being done to Auger suggests that there's something to these accusations and the NHL wants to sweep this under the carpet and shut everyone up prior to the Olympics and avoid bad publicity. Bettman obviously hasn't learned from the NBA - you deal with problems head on and resolve them. But the Nucks are a Canadian team..

After the game, when he was warming down, he said to the media how Auger approached him pregame and said, in French, something along the lines of "You made me look bad last game, I'm going to get you tonight". (In the previous Canuck game Auger officiated, Burrows embellished a hit). This is the evidence of Auger speaking with Burr pregame.

Whether it was isolated revenge or a grand conspiracy is irrelevant at this point. The fact that Burrows was fined $2500 (an absolute joke relative to his salary) and nothing is being done to Auger suggests that there's something to these accusations and the NHL wants to sweep this under the carpet and shut everyone up prior to the Olympics and avoid bad publicity. Bettman obviously hasn't learned from the NBA - you deal with problems head on and resolve them. But the Nucks are a Canadian team..

This used to be part of the unseen consequence of doing things like diving/sucker punching/cheap shots.
Back in the day teammates, refs, and fans would look down on it but now its an acceptable part of the game. Which sucks! With fighting taken off the table as retribution the least you can hope for is that refs remember ppl who dive.

In the third period, Burrows got called on some pretty iffy penalties, and one in particular was downright ridiculous. After the game, when he was warming down, he said to the media how Auger approached him pregame and said, in French, something along the lines of "You made me look bad last game, I'm going to get you tonight". (In the previous Canuck game Auger officiated, Burrows embellished a hit). This is the evidence of Auger speaking with Burr pregame.

-If it wasn't a big deal, Burrows would've said, "We had some bad breaks but put in a good effort and we'll move on to the next game," or something cliche like that, like how most hockey players do.
-Take a look at some of the calls in the 3rd against Burrows. A brush on the side was interference. Getting knocked down backwards in a puck battle is DIVING? If you havent seen the calls, look at them.
-And now this. Its unusual for a ref to talk to a player at that time, esp. one without a letter

Ok, to the guy who ask about Shane, he was kicked out of a game by Auger for making racist remarks toward french players. But the NHL said that there was no evidence he made these remarks. And the reason this is big is because a referee should never be the focus of ANY game. Thats y its said that the best ref's go unnoticed, because their doing their job right.

for anyone who doesnt already know, Stephane Auger has been in this kind of position before, When he tried to ruin good guy Shane Doans image by kicking him out of a game for "racial slures". Soon, French canadians wanted him removed from Canada's Olympic Team. Of course the NHL concluded that Doan never made any hateful statements. So if anyone tries to defend Auger, his track record isn't looking to good.

In my mind two 50+ seasons in games played with a decent GAA and Save % makes gets you a starter role (or something like that 2 avoid golies who become forgotten the next year)
I would say this season he's on more of a streak and hasn't yet made himself into a starter. Look at Prices first season people were touting him as the next roy. I'll admit his stats are good this year but all I said was that in my mind he wasn't a starter.

and after that they still have 2 take a playoff spot from New York x2, Ottawa, Tampa and Florida

How would you know if the Habs aren't a contender if healthy? the only time we had a full roster was on a 7 game road trip,and we went 6-1 on it!
A.Kostitsyn was clicking with Plekanec(2nd in the league in assist) and Cammalleri(20 goals) on the first line...A.K had 10 goal in 13 games with these two,right before he got injured.
2nd line we have a very skilled Pouliot who is clicking with Gomez and Gionta.
We have great goal-tending from Price &Halak.
Best PP & good PK with Markov & Bergeron.

Habs are by far not the most penalized team in the league. haha you just think that the world is out to get quebec. Its not! Every team has injuries. Look at ottawa, they lost their whole top line, plus one of their best defensman.Pittsburgh, NJ, colorado, chicago have all had more injury games lost than montreal, yet they are ahead of them in the standings...Montreal has 0 players with a ppg average. Gomez has 6 goals, same as jarred smithson, great #2 line player!

Yes, so they are exactly as they should be, fighting for a playoff spot. They are not a stanley cup contender. And your stats are inaccurate. They have 226 minor penalties, lower than anaheim, philly, sj, TB, and vancouver. And they are top 10 in the LEAST amount of penalties per game with 12. That is what i was referring to.
