how can i log out on hotmail on iphone???

@tli08 you can only log out of hotmail if you accessed it via a website. You do not log out of an account added to the Mail app

so i've been using it perfectly 'til now that a problem occured,,,, i can recieve emails but can't send one. When i try sending one, a msg pops up saying "the username r password for "smpt.(my email address)@hotmail.com@smpt.live­.com" is incorrect."

Thanks for posting these easy directions. My only issue is it wont load the folder I created with filed I need to save. Like when I get certain emails that i need info in them, i save them to "my files" and it wont load that folder on my email :(

i had my email account on my iphone working grand until the other day. Now i can't reconfigure it at all. I keep getting the 'cannot get mail' message. Have re-added all my email details with the 'pop3.live.com' and 'smpt.live.com'. Has hotmail changed its settings or sonething? Please dos anyone have any ideas? Thanks

i follow every single step , but when it comes to sending email it appears that both outgoing and incoming servers are not responding , i m not sure what to do next.

In my case, my ITouch had to have my email and password to work properly. Then had to be turned on and off a couple of times, and refreshed within my email to get going. Geez.

How come it says "cannot connect using SSL" and "do you want to try setting up the account without SSL" and after I press on yes it says "the pop server "pop3.live.com is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct infromation in the "incoming mail server" field"?

@sophlicious16 try pressing "no" and see what happens. If not, then shut off your device completely, and retry using "yes"

I have iOS4 you don't need to type all the Incoming/Outcoming mail servers, you just type in your hotmail address and name and it's done ^_^

Thx Alot, altough I didn't need it since when I entered my email in other it didn't ask for the other info.1 prob is that it's showing all my emails unread but actually I have no unread emails on hotmail.

Note: I went to edit and saw the info same as u wrote... Pop3... Those stuff are same. Pls help! Thank you!

@Arabalian96 the emails don't sync with the server unfortunately since its pop. imap syncs with the server, such as AOL mail. so basically, you will have two copies of your email account. what you do on the iphone/ipod will not affect whats on the server. what you do on your computer directly affects your email account

ok I followed every step, but at :20 into the video once you chose "other"your screen has more options then mine. Mine has the first part "name,address,password,descrip­tion" but then thats it, there is no "incoming mail Server"options like I see on yours.... if I click 'save" it says it cant, do you want to use 'ssl'? if I click yes it says 'POP account verification fail"

this was the 1.1.4 firmware and 3.0 has been updated differently. for yours, put in your name address, password, and description. once that goes, you can add the servers.

it doesn't sync with your inbox. like if u read them online, they will still show up on your ipod. its like having two copies of your account. doing something on one won't do it on the other.

Ex: if you delete something on the ipod, it wont delete it on your account. and vice versa

After doing some more research, hotmail have made POP3 servers available to all customers as of last January, in the UK at least, and will be rolling it out into the US shortly after.

Maybe you could update the video description so that it doesn't require a hotmail plus account? (:
