Ok now... granted I haven't heard very many fandubs, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

That said, holy CRAP. This is by far the best one I've ever heard, and I'd put it over several official anime dubs I've heard.

It's really good for a fan-dub.

It could be better if Amanda delivered with more of a deadpan - Senjougahara is far less expressive (and more bluntly sarcastic) than the average character. When she speaks, she should sound *scary* in that she's delivering romantic dialogue *with* such a deadpan.

Have very little complaints about your voice. You're substituting for Hiroshi Kamiya, it'll be unreasonable to ask you to replicate his divine voice.

@IohannaFiona In Amanda's defense, she really hadn't seen Bakemonogatari & wasn't all that familiar with Senjougahara. As an actress, she interpreted the role the best she could I'm sure.

As for me, it's true I sound nothing like Kamiya-sensei. That guy's character range seems almost unlimited because of the unique edge in his tone. I would hate to sound like him though, since I would prefer to be known for sounding like myself, without actually sounding like me depending on the role. Thanks!

No matter how many people love this dub, they would never donate money to assist the production and licensing procedures to make it "official" in some capacity.

Pretty sure my "buds" share my stance.

Amanda Lee has a good articulate pronunciation which is good for the character, but every single line being "breathless" gets tiresome. Ramune just has the same 'ol cookie-cutter, saturday-morning-cartoon male voice which drove me to subs.

I was just watching this segment of anime in Japanese today and there are few things that I got to say to this fandub.

1. Senjougahara sounds kind of.......full of emotion for some reason. Senjougahara is not supposed to be like that, in Japanese version she talked using the formal speech which makes her dialogues sound emotionless, AND THAT IS CERTAINLY PART OF HER CHARACTER!

2. I really really like Koyomi's voice (I mean it is well done)

3. The "Hell Yes!" doesn't sound exciting enough.

Hitagi has some sadist tendencies with her Tsundere (and some Yandere) nature when she flirts with Aragi the scene lost the we're going on a date you have no say tone between the two.

There is a good deal about these characters that is very complex & up for interpretation. I'm glad you were honest about our performances, since we do give 100% regardless of only approaching a character for the first time.

@RamuneAmai Hitagi isn't so complex, simple observation from Hitagi & Araragi's interaction are easily seen throughout anime. Recall the scene when they were driving in Hitagi's father's car (she has a father complex as well) & how she was playing (being sadist) with Aragi making him sweat. Or the scene between the two in her home & she went to Yandere mode as Araragi wanted to know more about her friend Suruga. I don't mean anymore bad criticism as she & I are alike towards our men.

I love this series very much & have great affection for Hitagi. Portraying these characters outside of the Japanese mold isn't easy. The line was read in an imperative tone, still giving him no choice, but maintaining that politeness that comes with the hierarchy in Japanese language. It's quirky in a way, which, to me, fits Senjougahara's playful manner.

@DaemonCorps Glad you found our performances well-suited. It's been said before, but the missing "ra" was a misstep on my fellow actress's part, but could also be seen as a parody on how Koyomi's last name gets teased throughout.

Music was changed b/c I wasn't aware that the OST was available. The track is "a sunny place 3" from the enjoyable slice-of-life anime Hidamari Sketch. When I don't have the original track, I try to find something that reflects its sound/feel to maintain atmosphere.

As of late, I feel like "official" dubs of anime out there have been trying too hard to get English voices that match their Japanese counterparts rather than finding a good English voice equivalent that captures the essence of the character and everything that character stands for. LeeandLie, honestly, the performance was nice, but something didn't seem right, it didn't feel it captured the unique vibe Hitagi has, she made her sound pretty average, so I just wasn't feeling it.

Ramune, pretty good performance wise, it was a fresh yet fitting take on Araragi, so I can't really pick at it much, i personally liked the "HELL YEAH!"

Having thoroughly enjoyed this series, Araragi was challenging knowing him so well. So given that I sound nothing like his seiyuu, I'm thankful that I could mesh enough & execute accurate delivery.
