  • You're holding the yarn in your left hand but throwing, English-style. The other way to knit backwards is to shift the yarn to the right hand, and then you can scoop, Continental-style.

  • Zoom in.....

  • Bit awkward doing a throwing motion with my left hand. I recently made the change from english knitting to continental, and am comfortable doing both but would prefer the looser gauge that I get with continental for the entrelac project I'm doing. Very helpful! Would have been nicer to see closer up, as I get a bit disoriented with the direction I'm wrapping the yarn when I go from picking to throwing with my opposite hand, but after watching a few times, I think I got it right.

  • I just got a great stocking hat pattern from knittingpatternoftheday (.) com and Grandma Nutt is adorable!

  • Would have been much better if the camera had been closer to the knitting

  • Thanks! This is a useful technique. I am a continental knitter and this video helped me see how it is done.

  • Helpful for me since I am a continental knitter and want to keep the yarn in my left hand! Thx!

  • I ended up purling. Didn't help me that much.

  • Yeah great but what about backwards garter - not possible I think
