Carter and Nash together on the same line, will create the best "scoring" duo in the league by far. I'm not saying this line will have the most points in the league, but they both should combine to have a massive amount of goals together. 75 to 85 goals are reachable for these guys together.

@corycb2003 On paper that is correct. You will quickly learn that although Carter puts up a lot of goals each season, hardly any come in the playoffs or in big situations. He has no heart, will not hit anybody, wont go in the corners, and will never skate hard. The jackets will be up like 6-1 and Carter will score 4 goals for a 10-1 final. If you guys are down by 1 and its late, Carter will be nowhere to be found.

i know columbus fans are excited now but youll see the real jeff carter eventually the no heart lazy overrated player that he is. probably end up hurting nash with the way he plays, all he does is take low percentage shots and makes bad decisions but he might turn it around in columbus i think the 46 goal season went to his head and got real complacent in philly maybe this trade will jump start him

@mkailov13 I really don't know how they got Schenn for Richards. He's basically Matt Cooke with a little more skill. Carter's good but apparently he somehow sucks. To be honest I think the Kings gave up way too much for Richards but I think the Jackets got a bargain for Carter.

@nevertweet015 It's really not that RIDICULOUS to compare them. Richards isn't nearly as bad, but he's had his fair share of head shots. David Booth, his hit on Tim Connoly on the playoffs this year among others. And he seems to have a bit of an ego. If you watch him in interviews or between whistles in games, he kinda has this smug way about him. But like I said, the Kings gave up too much for him, you gotta admit.

@GOODPLAYA20 shouldering guys in the head the way richards does isn't as bad as what cooke does (elbows etc) Richards plays a hard physical style that leads to questionable hits much the same Ovechkin plays, sometimes you just cross the line(I'm sure they don't mean to injure players it just happens), and no I don't think a third/second line player, a prospect and a 2nd round pick was to much for Richards who's a first/second line player, a leader and plays in any/all situations

@nevertweet015 Ok, first off, it's amazing how I can respond to this so quickly, second, Brayden Schenn is project to be a superstar and Simmonds is a good player that can play in all situations just the same as Richards. Third, Richards isn't a leader or else he wouldn't have to fight for the team's attention with Chris Pronger. I know that wasn't proven, but it seems pretty likely. And finally, there was an elbow on the Booth hit. My point remains the same, they gave up too much.
