Anti Boom what anti boom is that? He came out of the world of 1915 and during the 30's he became involved in Buddhism and Eastern Religions then here in the USA he became popular in the the 50's after the WII with the beat generation and then the 60's and early 70's during the Vietnam era where many of the boomers died in a war. What a hell of a name for a generation who had so much to offer and the alternative was to drop out and tune in,.
I couldn't have done it better myself. What great celebration of two creative lives that just happen to be on the list things that make life worth betting on (as AW once said).
I am a huge radiohead fan but never ran into this video. I was checking out Jeff Bridges 's website and I found a link to this video on it ( the the section 'stuff' ). How strange !
I love you man for posting this, i listened to Alan Watts like about a year ago only twice i think, i appreciated him soo much. Now i listen to radiohead all the time, and when i come across this video , !!! Soo happy :D
Infinitely beautiful... I'd love to sit and listen to this stunning song with Alan himself. "The meaning of being alive... is just being alive. That is to say; I look at the colour of your hair, and the shape of your eyebrow... and I understand that THAT is the point." This is a remarkably made video clip, piece of art... thank you for sharing it with us.
I love this band and the song is sublime. Every once in a while you get a band or an artist that really changes things, and this is one of them. BTW If you like this check out my music, it has a similar kind of vibe.
@ jujastorm. A little oversimplified: Alan Watts was a beatnik type who wrote books/gave talks introducing Zen Buddhism and other aspects of eastern philosophy and meditation to the West. I read several of his books between say 1970 and '75, at the time they (along with other stuff, especially about Zen) had a pretty powerful effect on my spiritual quest at the time. Been dead for quite some time, probably find many of his books on Amazon. See also Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder. Love, Carlos
He is great, look up "myth of myself", it is on youtube split into several parts, and it really jumpstarted a lot of new thinking for me. hope you enjoy it
Hey man! really GREAT job! I love it... I have already translated ALan WatTS Conversations with myself in spanish. Can you recomend me any oyher good stuff from Alan Watts?
Its sad that this doesn't get enough publicity. This explains my life for quite a while... Listening to his recordings...constantly...everyone i could get my hand on.
Cool video ... I wonder what Alan would have thought of these creations using his recordings. I think on some he would see them as fun and creative expressive of the natural interaction of everything into the unfolding of the wiggly edges of the 'big bang' of this current incarnation of the Universe. Haha
I sort of like Watt's idea of shooting an arrow into the air. If by incredible chance it actually comes back and hits you, it could be considered an incredible coincidence of unlikely-ness that one could even consider it like being hit by a lightening-bolt from "Zeus"! haha ... I might have read something from Watts along those lines but I can't remember if that was the case or I'm just thinking of that now by myself. Anyway, the idea is uncomfortably amazing!
I've been watching what seem like 100s of super-slick Radiohead animations on Aniboom after doing my own Reckoner video, but this is the only one that's stuck with me. Such a simple concept, but so powerful. And I'd never even heard of Alan Watts. This is youtube at it's best. Thank you.
think radiohead ruined it as can't hear what Alan is saying.

4) Alan Watts is neither enlightened nor not enlightened

four minute warning would be nice. not about bombs necessarily, or the end of the world... be creative. i think you'd do a masterful job of it.
