  • Maximum lens flare, punch it.

  • Fuck yea

  • @josephpricey I think he means the soundwave..

  • dun dun dun dunundulunundunun

  • maan i miss syfy all this reality show shit.. Why not make billion dollar movie with some awsome space battles and fleet battles and if its star trek its just a bonus.

  • Continuity? Fuck that; that shit's for amateurs!

  • @venusbrain

Well technically it still follows continuity. It's an interesting effect of the combination of a multiverse and time-travel.

And yes it's advertised as a prequel but I'd look at it rather as a sequel (the old Spock from the future being in it and all).

  • @MrFalconfly ಠ_ಠ

  • @Crowforge

Oh don't give me that look.

Just because you didn't like this movie doesn't mean it's shit.

And since when has the multiverse theory and time-travel been banned from Star Trek?

  • @MrFalconfly

    At least someone gets it.

  • Now here's a movie where I thought 3D might be beneficial.

  • @tubenachos

Youtube is now closed for you forever.

  • At 3D this is AWESOME... You think the Ship is landing at your Flat...

  • though i had some issues with JJ trek , things i disliked and things i liked , the warp jump effect was very cool. graphically and audio was well done indeed

  • I liked the effect, but I always liked the warp effect in the original TOS movies. Yeah it looks cheesy by today's standards, but the ship just looks like it's going really fast. The warp drive effect from TNG is probably me second favorite.

  • I really want star trek online the have the feature to go to warp seen from the bridge. and then with this animation

  • Awesome,

im kinda lost, which "version" of Star Trek is this?

  • @Malcolmali100 The gay one.

  • THAT WARP IS LIKE A KICK IN YOUR ASS !!!

  • High resolution selected. Bass and Treble to maximum. Punch it

  • @sonnygoot20 yeah true, but what the hell its all scifi, if they want to jump in system then cool, no need to worry bout those pesky gravity wells and warp fields collapseifing and what not, pfft!

  • bad ass warp effects--BUT--they have stated countless times in TNG,DS9,TOS that a star ship cannot warp inside a solar system. Inconsistences gotta love em.

  • @sonnygoot20 I believe it was the novelization that established that the Enterprise and several other ships of the time were modified using some technology reversed engineered from wreckage of the Narada found when the Kelvin rammed into it. Not only does this help to suggest why the Enterprise's weapons and overall design are different from its counterpart, but it could mean that they are capable of warp inside a solar system without the damage to subspace it would cause normally.

  • @sonnygoot20 Star Trek 1, Star Trek 3, Star Trek 4. I think the only reason they don't go into Warp in system is so that they don't crash into anything big, so if the vector grants them enough clear space then there really isn't much reason not to warp in system. Also that whole subspace tear thing was a TNG thing, way before Kirk's time.

  • @BFGfreak TNG =/= before Kirk's time

  • @BFGfreak Warp Drive originally created gravitic waves. Larger gravitational bodie wreak havoc on warp physics, and thus, on navigational calculation.

    It was fixed by TNG.

  • @BFGfreak And Kirk was before Picard.

  • If we went faster than light wouldn't the shock wave push earth out of orbit?

  • @LukeTheDuke1100 no air in space to create a shockwave

  • Hey, it's Lawrence Robertson!

  • The warp in JJ is 10x better than ANY in any other series or movies, hand downs,

  • @TonyEvans96 Disagree, the 'Hyperspace Window' jumps on Stargate are much better.

If we're sticking just to Trek, then Enterprise or Voyager would win this FX contest easily.

  • @lordzahgurim oh, meant star trek movies. Otherwise, SGA/SG1 hyperspace is best, the jump drives from BAG are next, then Kk warp drive, then all the other ones

  • @lordzahgurim BSG I mean

  • This part was SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!!

  • That what make me fall in love with Star Trek is watching the ships go in warp!

  • Hmm, this is more like battlestar galactica jump than Star Trek warp.

  • @phazon55 And it looks all the better for it.

  • Merkabah space ship moves within an all-embracing energy field which is composed of multiple magnetic, electromagnetic, and magneto-hydrodynamic domains unified into a “field stasis” using multiple polar denominations. The vehicle operating within the field the ability to go faster than the speed of our common light. With instant acceleration with power to travel at 2.9 times (or more) the speed of light as defined by man. The vehicle can go through these portals time tunnels or “wormholes :)o*o

  • Starships are thhe Ferrari's of the future

  • so the parking brake was off

  • NOT WARP NOT STAR TREK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • J.J. Abrams was a genious adding real lights instead of speialeffectss like all the other moovies

  • @MrSvingy What are you talking about real lights? The entire scene, except for the bridge (and even that in parts) was CGI!

  • @Director84 I think they're referring to the warp effect itself, also possibly the bridge consoles, which were actually backlit and not CG at all. Most other adaptations were CG.

  • @AToxicOrange Actually in the 80s, when the TOS movies were made, there was no CG yet, it was analog rotoscoping, combined with multiple exposure (in postpro, not in camera) and other "classical" special effects techniques. So hardly any of the older adaptations used CG (this started in Voyager and late DS9). But the entire external shots in the 2009 movie were computer rendered, there were no real ship models anymore, as in the old films.

  • @Director84 I'm well aware of these facts. I was talking about the bridge consoles, though.

I know the ships themselves were CG, but there were elements outside of CGI included.

It's not like that's any different than the physical models, though. It takes just as much, if not more effort, and it still looks just as visually stunning. It doesn't take away any of the heart or anything.

  • @MrSvingy

    Don't you mean lens flare?

  • @MrSvingy He added both.

  • @MrSvingy all the ships and space were CGI so he could not have used real lights and as for the bridge thay have always used real lights

  • Comment removed

  • Is it a B&M shifer or a Hurst?? LOL BTW the movie was crap

  • AMAAAAAAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

  • Man, this scene was awesome in the theater, you could feel the concussion on your chest with each BOOM of the warp jumps.

  • @Xytan4 IKR!

  • @Xytan4 I know, it almost made me jump out of my seat. It was really loud!

  • @Xytan4 'concussion on your chest', I take it you aren't a medical student?

  • Lol :)

  • :D
