Red Algae and lack of oxygen kill fishes and other sea creatures. Sea worm eats also coral reeves.

shorten lighting cycle, and give the tank a 2-3day light break once a month.

i had the same problem !!! i had hairy green aglae and red slime . so what i did was i needed to get my phosphate at zero !!! use a phosphate reactor and upgraded my protien skimmer , did a 20 % water change . in a mouth every it all clear up .
